My housing company come to test my smoke alarms,Normally once every 6 months,I could imagine any one putting water on a chip pan fire,I thought my flames where tall enough,The flames where allmost reaching my Kicthen ceiling before placing a oxygen a large bath towel straight over it,Thats why I never forget to leave the chip pan on ever again after making chips I did once,The flames where very tall from my chip pan,I could not even beleive it,Never again

oil in pan is alight by 9:00 - water is added to 9:55 - imagine what happens next, happening in your kitchen!!!

lesson learned dont put water on a hot fat fire, and wear your bunker gear whilst cooking 😂

Lets see what it do when putting water on the chip pan,Glad its safe a safe and secure place,It be one of the worse things to do,that time it spread the fire in few seconds then put it out,Not what I was expecting,Normally it making the fire a Billion and a half times worse

if my new flat went up in high flames,If I could not escape out of the Flat door,Got plenty of windows with lower roofs outside,One easy to escape,Climb out of the Window,On to the roof then jump down

My own tip is never throw water on a fat fire. It’ll take your face off.

Use a wet chemical fire extinguisher on a chip pan fire and turn the power off never use water foam dry powder carbon dioxide or halon bcf wet chemical is the safest extinguisher and wet chemical is a soapy foam different to afff Foam which is useful on class a and b fires only

I have a ABF foam extinguisher at home. If your extinguisher doesn't have the F-label, it's not suited for fat fires.
