    You are right about the poor flow in the Zero G, I used it to pump rain water out of sump pump and the flow is very poor because there is not enough pressure to expand it to 3/4"

    • @rvgearandfar

      Neither of these hoses are supposed to get to 3/4" though so I think your expectations may be a little off

    White great comparison, a cheaper out for the first couple years and used a white hose, but have switched to a woven fiber hose like this. Great job , video and audio, clear and concise. I have watched a zillion diy rv videos, and have made over 200 videos myself, you are doing an awesome job, presenting in a different way, you can tell you took time crafting your script, practicing, filming, and editing to be concise. I have no idea where you found the time to do 30 videos in three months we can barely get out a video a week. Larry

    Grey leaked at the fittings but to late to be returned and researching, found that was very common. Now it runs down my arm holding up. I watched a repair using the wire style clamp and when I make one of the various incarnations of the tool, I'll put the rubber jacket off, cut and repair it.

    • @rvgearandfar
      @rvgearandfar  Місяць тому

      you can definitely repair them with a traditional hose mender - but also I've filed a warranty claim for a zero g hose that was leaking at the fittings - you can find the claim submission form on teknor apex's website

    We started with a Camco white hose which caused FAR too much swearing during both setup and teardown. We replaced it with a Zero G and now ALL of our hoses have been replaced with Zero G (gray for us). No regrets and our oldest one has been in use now since 2019.

    I bought 2 25ft blue zero g hoses when i got my trailer over 3 years ago and they are great. I had an old black zeroG that i use for black tank flush. I think its about 6 years old. For the house we have 2 75ft green zeroG pro hoses that we have had 3-4 years now. (One of them replaced the black hose). No strange taste or leaks in any of them.

      The quick release connectors are the greatest and save a lot of time screwing on and off. They can wear out over time and can cause the hose to pop off, which is irritating. Luckily they’re not too expensive and worth replacing 👍🏻

    I recommend having a 25 foot for most situations but keep a 50 footer stored away for those unusual situations and add the 25 for 75 feet. I always connect the hose ends together when storing, in florida lizards love go get into stored hoses, next time you connect the lizard gets smashed into the screen, blocking the hose and cleaning is a bloody mess, also keeps dirt and other nastiness out. Get a Hose-Grip, makes connecting and disconnecting so much easier on old hands, you have young strong hands so maybe you dont need one. Use the plastic Melnor quick connects, all the metal ones i have tried leak just a little bit which drips in the wet bay. Add a water meter to your setup it makes such a difference knowing how much water is going into the rv when not hooked up to sewer. Larry

    • @rvgearandfar
      @rvgearandfar  Рік тому

      Hey Larry! Thanks for watching - agreed on the 25 and 50 footer combo - that is definitely the golden ticket. Interesting about the lizards - I hope I never experience that!

    I use a blue for drinking water fill and black for black tank flush and misc use. I do not keep my city water hooked up to pressure. I fill my freshwater tank and use my water pump. If a leak develops I will hear the pump cycling. When we leave camper we always turn the pump off. Zero chance of returning to a flooded RV.

    I bought two new RV zero g hoses (25 ft and 50 ft). Both leaked the first time I tried using them with 40 PSI pressure. Very disappointing for how expensive they are. Not sure if I'm going to even bother warrantying them as I've lost all trust in the product.

    • @rvgearandfar
      @rvgearandfar  Рік тому +1

      That is very interesting - I have talked hoses with lots of folks in online forums and have never heard of any instance like that. I'd definitely reach out to Teknor Apex about that issue and get them refunded. I've used them for full time RV use for going on 20 months now in addition to my weekending time before that and have had great success with them - seems like you might have stumbled on a quality control issue that they'd love to know about. I'd give them a chance to make it right.

      @@randyfilippi7919 roger that. They are repairable just like stiff walled garden hoses so grab a 1/2 repair end off amazon (cause the 3/4" ones at the local stores won't fit the blue ones) and get it back into 100% fucntioning!

    Here's the problem with these hoses. After using for a while, this black slime comes out of the hose and stops up the screen where you connect hose to RV. Thank God for the screen. These hoses are lined inside with something that breaks down after using a few times.

    I really like the Zero-G hoses for several reasons but I haven't used them on our RV because we are snowbirds and stationary for 6 months. I can't find any reviews about the longevity of the hose under constant 50 PSI pressure for several months. Do you have any information about that?

    • @rvgearandfar

      Sorry to hear that. 75 feet of hose - any type - is going to be pretty difficult to handle. If I were you I'd cut the hose at 25ft and put new fittings on - then you'll have a 25 and a 50 to use for different campgrounds.
