    The way futura hair (all heat safe to 400 degrees is futura hair) works is that when you apply the heat it will relax into its original form which is bone straight. You must leave the heat in contact with the hair for more than a second so that it will revert. Using water when using flat irons and curling irons on future hair is not necessary as unlike human hair it does not require water to be pliable, only heat. The same principle applies when giving it shape, except that it must remain in the shape you want until it completely cools and then it will maintain that shape. A flat iron is best for straightening because it will keep the heat on the fibers while you pass it down. The hot comb will pull through the ends so fast it doesn't have a chance to get it to revert. 400 degrees is the perfect temp with a flat iron. Boiling futura hair, when set in rollers, works well because you can leave the hair submerged for a few minutes, then if you submerge it in cold water right after it will be set and the rollers can be removed. In that way, futura is the best synthetic hair because it has the most versatility :-)

      Happy to help. One of my missions is not only to get people to understand the difference between synthetic and human hairs and how they are styled and cared for but also for people to see how useful and practical futura hair can be :-)

    I never flat iron my synthetic wigs, it takes too long and alters the texture too much. Instead I blow dry them on medium heat using a paddle brush. It's quick, easy and doesn't alter the texture. If you want a silky texture blow dry on high

    Hot combs do work but with the hot comb you are suppose to use the back end to straighten not the teeth. The back of the comb is actually what does the straightening. I hope it helps you for the next time you try.

    • @janicecater

      you use the teeth to slide it through, pressing it against the back straightens it as it glides. they work together, she's not saying that it's one or the other

    • @copgirl11
      @copgirl11 6 років тому +12

      Yes the back straightens the hair. The teeth just keeps it in a straight path hence the comb chaser when you are flat ironing your hair for the silky straight look. You glide the backend on your hair. If you were growing up you wouldn’t have used it someone else did your hair. Now ask them how it’s done 👍🏾

    Lmao when you looked at the hair and saw the hot comb wasn’t working. Lol... I love your videos! As far as future use with the hot comb, you have to use the back of the Comb and really slow pull through the hair. Meaning the hair strands glide through the teeth of the comb while the hot back of the comb is “pressed” to the hair while you’re pulling through. Which is why they call it “pressing” your hair with a hot comb. You also might want to try the old fashion version that you do on the stove or in burners. Those get hot and will smoke so of course use with caution. I would have switched to the flat iron too though lol... I was like ooooh she getting risky in the new year with that hot comb and that wig! So glad you didn’t burn yourself! Happy New Year 🎊 💃🏻💋

    The back of the hot comb is what straightens the hair not the teeth of the comb and the reason the your ends kept curling up was because the back of the hot comb is you are curving outwards.

    Tip...In order to straighten your hair with a hot comb you have to use the back of the comb, the barrel where the teeth meet. Pull the comb thru the hair and slightly bend towards the barrel. I love your channel. The hair is beautiful and so are you! 😘

    I've had that straightening comb for years. It works well on natural hair. When you use a straightening comb, you use the back of the comb to straighten the hair, not the teeth. Try it. I think it will work well for you. I love this wig. And as a woman who's lived quite a few years, believe me when I tell you that you are on the right track. LOVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF YOU FIRST. You can not give someone water from a dry well. You're a bright, beautiful soul. Remember that and you will be fine.

    for the hot comb try angling it so that the back of the combs also runs down the hair strands thats what helps to straighten the hair. I wonder if it will get the synthetic wig bone straight like the flat irons.
