The bigger part is that the military intel communities can just hand out intelligence to entities in the US including local govs, agencies, and police. The Directive was issued without a Summary Of Changes section which is kinda odd as well.
Trump needs to get out in front of this and point out to the people that harris was aware of this and supports this.
This is not the first time the government has been authorized to fire on it's own people. I can't remember specifics but, there was a president that had the army fire up it's own in washington when the soldiers wanted to be paid after either WW1 or 2 .

My oldest son is an MP and will be in Washington DC for the inauguration, we talked about this new directive, and he says that neither he nor anyone else in his unit would obey an unconstitutional order. His oath is to the Constitution of the United States of America, not to any politician or other person. I am an immigrant to this country, I chose to make it my home for my family, and I never thought I would see the day when so many enemies of this country/people are actually in our own government.
what would he do if someone shoots at him or his unit. DODD 5240.01 doesn't give any orders, it sets the conditions which wouls lead to mission planning, which would lead to orders that havw to meet stringent legal criteria as defined by both military and civil courts -

@Chris-r1y if someone is shooting at him, he would defend himself. I think it is important to remember that while the order has not been given to use lethal force on the American public, someone somewhere has considered that possibility and is preparing to give that order.

I'm a 35 year veteran retired Lt. Col. Served in Army and SF since 1977. I'm still in touch with many fellow officers and senior NCO's. This order is no joke. Every single officer I spoke with has stated that they will refuse such orders and will consider it their duty to remove those who issue orders such as this. "This isn't what I signed up for" was the most common response. They are sick to death with the current government and consider them as the domestic enemy as outlined in our Constitution. Yes, they are talking mutiny.

Yes, they were armed (as allowed by the 2nd Amendment), but it was said to be a peaceful march to bring their plight to the WV Legislature. The WV governor got scared and requested the POTUS to send troops. No Martial Law was ever declared and both the Army and Army Air Corp responded and attacked their fellow Americans. They even bombed them with bi-plane bombers.
