    I’d like to say “Safe ride!” to everyone in the Sailnovo brother-n’-sisterhood. My pride and joy, the black and red Sailnovo, appears to have gone its last mile this morning; finding myself stuck five miles from home with zero power from a completely dead, almost-two-year-old battery. However, after some due diligence in re cost vs. benefit, despite the newfangled contraptions they’ve got out there now with a little more this and a little more that, I’m going back to what I know worked for me faithfully for two years and getting myself another Sailnovo. I’ve had so much fun seeing so many things building so many memories just cruising around from downtowns to parks and rail trails-as far as I’m concerned, they’re still the best eBikes you can find for a tenth what people are paying for because they’ve got these other bells or other whistles. Take it from me: You’ll really love the Sailnovo. They’re worth every penny.

    • @LuxuryPrince
      @LuxuryPrince  Рік тому +1

      Valid concern, I don’t really think it would be too much different. Ultimately I would say the key contributing factor that may alter the experience is weight. So far though in my first video I was a little under 200 lbs and still was able to ride it with a breeze.

      Check the size charts for what ever bike your interested in. Get a suspension seat post and a comfortable seat, ie..(Cloud 9 seat). Most stock seats are not a bit hard and uncomfortable. Your but will still have to get conditioned (like breaking in new shoes) before you can do 15 + mile trips. I have 4 ebikes and 1 D.I.Y. ebike and only one came with a soft seat. Just bought a Remanufactured Jetson Pro for $250 for my nephew but it easily moves my 215lbs frame. Its a good starter ebike.

      2HR and 44 min is what I got out of mine, that’s also with keeping the power on the entire time. I’m sure if you aren’t riding that straight and you’re turning it on and off you could make that stretch throughout the day.

    How's the suspension on the bike? I noticed you was riding on the sidewalk and went through some bumps

    • @LuxuryPrince
      @LuxuryPrince  Рік тому

      It’s not too bad, personally for me if I anticipate a pretty big impact from a curb or just a bump in a sidewalk, I typically just stand to adjust my body weight so that way I don’t feel the true magnitude of it.
      Otherwise you’ll definitely feel it no doubt but it’s not a deal breaker.

    Yo man! Just wanted to say I got some info from another video on how to bump up the speed of this bike on all 3 modes by about 2 mph. Nothing crazy, but feels wrong to not share this if you don't already know lol.
    First, hold the mode button and turn the key on. Tap mode until you see P3, then press and hold the mode button to make the number on the bottom(100) of the screen flash. Tap mode again to change the flashing number from the default 100 to 110(this ranges from 90-110, and just seems to be different speed settings for the throttle control)

    • @LuxuryPrince
      @LuxuryPrince  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! I appreciate you bringing that to my attention.
      I truly didn’t know and was confused on why mine was capping off at 15. 😆 I’m definitely going to give that a try soon. Even 15MPH is pretty “fast” tho so the idea of getting up to the actual max speed is exciting. Hope you’re enjoying your bike! 💯

      @@LuxuryPrince not a problem dude! I'm loving the bike so far, it's awesome. I noticed in some other reviews I had watched that were from last year or so that this bike was setup for kph, and would only hit 25 kph, or 15.5 mph. Definitely odd, cause those reviews also showed how the bike was advertised at 18.6 mph but couldn't hit that, even with no weight on the bike. In my experience so far the bike is setup for mph and did exactly 18.6 out of the box. With the change to the P3 setting I mentioned, mode 3 now does 20.4 mph.

      Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but changing that setting only changes the number displayed on the speedometer…
      It doesn’t actually make you go faster.
      If you check your speed with a GPS app, you’ll see that you’re still maxing out at 18.6mph when the display now says 20.4mph…
      This setting exists to calibrate the speed displayed to more closely match the actual speed if you have slightly bigger tires

    Do you think it handles well on dirt roads/paths

    • @LuxuryPrince
      @LuxuryPrince  Рік тому

      To be honest, not so much.
      I’ve experimented on a slightly grassy incline and by using the throttle mode alone it wasn’t enough torque to get it up without the need of manually pedaling.
      If the path is lightly covered with small pebbles and dirt on an even incline you’ll be fine.
      On something more uneven though it would be pretty difficult unless you plan to manually pedal also.

      No worries, I'm about 170. My weight has fluctuated though from the time I first got the bike and was a little over 190 and still was able to ride it without any major concerns as far as the bike being able to hold me and accelerate.

      It was very brutal, not going to lie. Definitely required a lot a physical effort , but to be fair I don’t typically ride bikes to begin with, so that just could’ve been my lack of strength. 💀

      @@growingorganic5382 Yeah, I hear you. I don’t know much about the Lectric XP but I did quickly look it up and checked the specs.
      Seems a little more heavy duty and sturdy? I’ll have to research it more but with Sailnovo I’ll be perfectly honest… It’s more so a “hyped up kids toy” but a fun one don’t get me wrong.
      I only say that just based off the quality you know? Like sure it does what you need it to do and it’s loads of fun no doubt.
      I have no shame riding it for hours and showing it off it’s definitely impressive but it’s a little poorly made.
      I’m only making that point after seeing the bike you’ve mentioned.
      If you simply want a bike that will get peoples attention for sure and can ride on it for hours and don’t care about not having a basket etc and just got some money to blow you def won’t regret the Sailnovo.

    Why don't you just replace the battery instead of getting a whole new bike? I've never owned an ebike so correct me if I'm wrong about this. Are you unable to replace the battery? Really makes me think twice about getting one if that's the case.

    • @LuxuryPrince

      To be honest, I've never rode it in the snow but I guess it depends on how much snow we are talking. I doubt the bike would be able to make it through any substantial amount of snow.
      I say that because even going up a hill the bike isn't that powerful to make it up without manually peddling so I'd imagine it would be the same in the snow with all of the resistant that could create.
      Another thing is the traction, I don't think the tires would hold up great without sliding if the conditions were slippery.

      I always keep an eye on my charger just to make sure I don't leave it plugged up beyond when the light turns from red to green upon completion.
      (It's happened before though lol sometimes we forget)
      I've noticed mine also gets slightly warm, try to charge it in a temperature controlled environment opposed to somewhere hot such as a garage and see if that helps If you aren't already.
      Honestly, I don't know how reliable the battery indicator is, I've noticed that some times it fluctuates it would go from all bars down to 2 bars then back up to 3 bars so I'm assuming it all comes down to usage and how frequently you use the throttle to generate power.
      Hope you're enjoying your bike!
