I like the design with lots of light, yet temp controlled and protected from rain. Stadium needs to be in Tampa proper, but please don't build ugly parking garages! Tropicana is just not desirable in any way! The Rays and Tampa deserve better, especially as the team is much better. I would have liked about 10 000 more seats.
Where are all the fans going to park? Since baseball season is half the year, there's bound to be conflicts with parking needs for Amelie Arena and the Convention Center. I bet they could build a stadium like that for half the price if it was in a less congested location. Also, that location in Ybor, beside downtown and with excellent freeway connections, is absolutely perfect for a transit hub for light rail/tram and HSR line to Orlando.
No, this one, you can actually see outdoors. The Metronome was awful - the Kingdomexworse. It is too hot and wet in baseball season for an open park, andxretractablexroofs add $ many millions to cost, in a city that has still not proven it is a baseball town.
I hope not they don’t belong in Tampa no one supports them a bunch of New Yorkers and people from New England move down to Florida and they support their teamsLike in Tampa when they play the Yankees it’s 90% Yankee fans or when they play the Red Sox it’s 90% Red Sox fans get them out of Tampa move them where they belong in Montreal
@@Seanny5117 Really? I heard (on a Rays vs. Yankees game) that the Rays get good TV ratings in the area & their merchandise sells. But no one goes to the games because the stadium is so shitty.
@@johnduff3914 Yes really maybe you were born and raised in Florida but a lot of the snowbirds retired to Florida and root for their teams they used to root for also you obviously haven’t been to any of those games it’s 90% Yankee fans just face it the team can’t draw in South Florida they will be in Montreal hopefully within the next five years
@@Seanny5117 I never said I went to any games there, I was just asking about something I heard about on TV. Plus, "snowbirds" coming from up north is nothing new. Its been that way since the beginning of time. Add to the fact that the Yankees' spring training complex is in Tampa, & their class-A team plays in Tampa shouldn't be a shock that there's a big crowd when the Yanks come to town.
@@johnduff3914 it actually should be a shock it is Tampa Bay that is their team same thing with Miami there’s all New Yorkers in Miami Florida cannot support baseball. At least the Marlins won a couple of World Series unlike the rays who will never win hoping they will move to Montreal where their fans will come out and support them there Florida is a Fairweather state for baseball football rules Florida
From what I heard the funding was never secured, so it's NOT going too happen. The Rays might want too look at other markets like: Charlotte N.C., Nashville or maybe Montreal.
The current stadium was built to attract the White Sox. Eusebdorf used TB to get a new stadium in the Sourhside. The Trop is the worst stadium in MLB. Worst by far. And, BTW, Ybor City list its popularity in the 90s. So rundown.
They should be moving to Montreal nobody cares about the Rays in Tampa MLB needs to get them out of Tampa immediately they can’t support this team just a waste of taxpayer money vote no on the stadium
This design is awesome! If you have to build a dome, go the translucent route! Lots of light even though you are indoors!

MOVE TO TAMPA!!!!
Or Lakeland and call them the Central Florida Rays

Use trains lol, build those train lines, it's the future of transportation
A translucent roof? Like the Metrodome?
Metrodome wasn’t translucent

Just put them in the city of Tampa and not St. Pete
28000 30000 that's it the average ball park is 40000 fans if they're going to do this they might as well not build a new park
Logan Fields I’m a rays fan and ima be honest do the rays get more than 20000 people at a game?
Bring it back. Play in Tampa for once
A stadium that nobody wants for a team that nobody support
this aged well, aye.
Anywhere in the Tampa city limits is best for this team st pete just isn't for them.
You need fans to build a big ballpark
You can demolish any stadium you want, but when you demolish my stadium, you've gone too far!
Did they ever raise the money?

Another promising stadium idea down the drain... Ybor really looked like the one they'd actually go through with.
Aaaaaand it's gone 😂
Very small stadium
Say NO to the Rays, Send them away! They barely put butts in the seats as it is! Giant waste of money!
From what I heard the funding was never secured, so it's NOT going too happen. The Rays might want too look at other markets like: Charlotte N.C., Nashville or maybe Montreal.
Hopefully not nashville
I like it but we destroyed Ybor city and it’s culture enough.
It should go closer to Tampa

Not going to happen. Time for the Rays t find a new city.
it's Call Canada.
