Holy cow! This is absolute genious! We need more developers to build this functionailty into their apps. I knew when Apple opened up UVC support that the days of iPads becoming streaming stations was coming soon and my goodness! I'm at a lost for words...
I don’t currently use a Stream Deck but I think they are awesome to many workflows and I am very happy to see this come to iPad OS! This will change the game!
As someone who streams directly from my ps5, and use my iPad Pro as my desktop for looking at chat etc, having the option for connecting a stream deck would be amazing
Stream Deck Kit is for developers to integrate into their own iPad apps. Because of that, it works fundamentally differently than it does on PC/Mac where there is a single app that controls the system across every app.
Fantastic news! Elgato, will you announce what apps that have made access for the driver (alpha, future beta etc.) to work (if they now released a public version of their app so a end user can try out)? Would be nice to get info at least which app dev that joins.
Hi great vid. Struggling to use prompter for things like zoom. Specifically I can’t drank any windows onto the prompter for some reason. Any idea how to fix this ? Thanks
I've tested in beta app on ipad... Its connected and working but i wanted to test my soundboard function from the ipad but it not talking... What i can see and play on is just the emojis... Hope the actual app can control most of the apps in ios iPad. Thanks for the support given from developers...
Can’t get the driver to show up anymore. I did try the beta version 1.0 (18) with iPadOS 18 beta 2 and it worked but the last two beta updates, including the latest, the driver does not react. Any updates of the alpha being released soon?
I hope Elgato also includes support for the Stream Deck Neo. Now that the iPadOS is almost like a light powerful hybrid machine for streaming (powered by the same M-series SoC like the macOS devices), this really puts the iPad in a different league against other tablets. I'm sure Apple will definitely have to police it to ensure no security vulnerabilites creep in that may be exploited. While it does come down to the app developers integrating it, it's only in their benefit especially if there are content creators (*ahem* like me) who use various apps like Davinci Resolve, etc and even mobile games.
Hi Derrek, we can't comment on this specific type of feature coming to Android. But if you're talking about the current Stream Deck Mobile on Android, we're working on it!
Does this work with the Stream Deck Mini too? I want to use it as an accessible interface for someone with a disability who can't handle the additional buttons of the more advanced devices.
Stream Deck Kit allows for developers to integrate support for the Stream Deck models they choose to. If someone developing an iPad app wished to create support for Stream Deck Mini, that would be possible.
@@ElgatoWorkshop Thank you for the reply. So far I've only seen Stream Deck Mini with USB-A, so I guess an adapter is necessary (the Neo seems less sturdy and with more features, which isn't desirable for this person's disability).
@@eobet Either an adapter, or what we recommend is some sort of USB Type-C dock. That way you get power input, maybe display output, and a few extra USB connections.
This is out now. But to be clear, it's up to iPad app developers to add support for Stream Deck as this is on a per-app basis. This is not like our desktop software where there is a centralized app which controls the computer. If you are interested in using Stream Deck with iPad apps, you would need to talk with the developers of the apps you are interested in using.github.com/elgatosf/streamdeck-kit-ipad
@@ITSMDGM Yep, that's the concept behind it. As a developer, you custom design how Stream Deck works with your app. When someone with a Stream Deck connected opens your app, it's populated with your specific profile you designed for that app/device combination.

Guys, PLEASE... allow people who purchased the life-time mobile stream deck, free access to Wave Link, or at least make a new product that gives access to it, that is NOT a microphone or similar. I do not want a seperate microphone or a physical streamdeck or the likes. And as far as I understand, your headset mic doesn't work if you use the Wave XLR for just the headset and without a XLR mic, which I don't want either. Seriously guys, come on

I love my Stream Decks, and I love my iPad. Using the two together is one of the greatest things I’ve heard!
Looking forward to. Can't wait.

What about system level control, opening apps, switching apps, and other non app specific control??

@@ElgatoWorkshop Why don't you implement it to communicate with iOS shortcuts?
I’d love this for Davinci Resolve!
Fantastic. Do we know of any apps/developers that have introduced these new functionalities?
I’d love this for Dorico music notation program!
Good Job on this. Looking forward to the release.
Very cool but will you make it available for the iPad Air with the Bionic Chip?
Pretty sure it’s M-series chips only because of the limitations of DriverKit. Sorry, man.

Why do you need an M-Chip for it?
Because DriverKit is only available on Apple Silicon M series iPads

What model is this
We are using Stream Deck + in the video along with an M1 iPad Pro.
Is the stream deck connected directly to the iPad Pro?
In this case it's connected through a Thunderbolt Dock to provide more ports and also charge the iPad, but it can be directly connected.

if you're just looking for audio mixing software, check out "Sonar" by Steelseries.
This for Android Tablets aswell please not only for IPads
This feature works due to a specific hardware update for iPadOS. It's possible AndroidOS could support this function in the future.

I'm about to get down voted to hell here... Android support??
