Spending my first New Year outside the UK | Welcome to Thailand! 🇹🇭

At the end of 2022, me and my mates left cold and wet Manchester and headed east to Thailand, beginning an almost four-week adventure throughout the country, visiting some of its best destinations.
But up first was its capital, Bangkok, and we’d be there for the big occasion, as I was spending my first New Year’s outside the UK.
New Year’s Eve in Thailand is a big deal, and we were about to find that out on the iconic Khao San Road - once a famed backpacker haunt and known for its lively bars and nightclubs that are open until the early hours each evening.
But 31 December 2022 was a long day, and everything would lead up to the New Year’s Eve countdown, which meant first we had some exploring to do, and what better than a Bangkok temple tour?
Watch as we head to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), Wat Arun and then end the day with a big party on Khaosan.
