Its not about having the gold, its about finding it and the adventures along the way. Keep searching. Ive heard theres a few places up there where some decent color has been found.
Oh yes it is! I got my first panning kit after that trip. Will post videos once spring hit and we get back out! I am about the adventure for sure and enjoy the good company.
Iv heard of good color being found off the rail bed atv trail at the old train Bridge in monticello haven't panned there yet but going to in September when I get my 68 inch creek sluice box
Thank you 😊. I went to do this for the first official time this year and we got some dust from a stream we didn’t think would give anything. Patience is a must for sure lol
New sub here,im from Aroostook County grew up in Portage and Ashland, spent most of my life in Machias Washington county. I moved to N.C in 2020 i plan on visiting this summer and panning for my 1st Maine gold,i picked up the hobby in N.C in 2020.
There is some color to be found in aroostook county but the best gold will be down in South western maine on the swift River and tributaries but in monticellow in aroostook has had decent color found its under the old train Bridge that is now the atv trail from what iv been told
That shovel is called an E tool "entrenching tool" and is issued in US Army and I'm sure it's issued in other branches of our military. I've used them many times in the 14 1/2 years that I spent in the US Army. I live in Eastern Maine and saw this in my recommended videos. I too enjoy the hunt for Au...nice video! Keep up the good work!
I spent all summer panning the river in Coose Canyon this year. I probably hit about 50 different spots total. Found very little gold. I need help from someone who knows where to find Gold. I always pan alone and that has its blessings but sometimes i just wish I had help from someone more experienced, theres only so much I can learn from YT videos 😆. Thanks man! (May sound dumb but WHERE is Yankee Brook? Way up North?)
Sorry just seeing this. UA-cam held it for some odd reason. Yankee Brook in in Allagash Maine. Look for Glazier Lake and you will find it. Water was too high this year to try panning.
@DitchChickenAdventures I think all of my comments are like reviewed and held because of YTs moderation system. I'm on a watch list, so to speak..I've said too much about Ole corrupt Joe!
I live over in phillips and we used to pan coos canyon a ton. People have pretty much panned out all of west brook and the canyon itself. Go up towards letter e starting up height of land and it has had less traffic
Not yet. Got my first kit last winter and this year the rain was too much. We planned on a few trips but streams were always too high. Have you? If so, how was it?
I have not. I have a camp up there. I know there was talk in mining Bald Mountain due to gold content in it. I figured there might be gold in the streams in the area@@DitchChickenAdventures

Thanks for the sub! It was too bad we didn’t get in some panning this summer.
Looks like panning is very patient work. Thanks for the lesson!

Take care out there. 🙂🤙✌
Thanks! Can’t wait to try it myself this summer. We will be uploading those videos once we can get out there lol

Awesome video! New sub!
Thank you so much! New sub back at ya! We will be doing more of these once the snow is gone.
Oil in the water, nice
Hog wash
I would rather spend my time fishing that stream than waste it hoping for a few specs of gold .
lol that was the plan at one point. I would fish and then try panning. We panned another stream this year and I forgot my fishing gear. Was a sad day
