Omg how delicious!! I was listening to the famous five when I suddenly thought of the folk of the faraway tree, so searched and found this!! Wow the legendary Kate winslet reading this absolute treasure!! Ahh and I'm in bed in my jammies at 47 years young!! Pure comfort! Thank you
@@mjfootballfan786, there are only 3 books in the actual original series. I was not even aware there was a fourth book to the series but in 1951 Enid Blyton "edited" her Yellow Fairy book as an "add-on" to be the fourth book to the series. However, I have not found it offered anywhere in audio. I have uploaded the only three available audiobooks.
These books were my childhood! So comforting to sleep to. I didn’t know Kate read them, I know her sister- a member at the spa I’m a receptionist at. Small world
I am nearly 60 and The Magic Faraway Tree were my favourite books as a child, followed by The Wishing Chair, and the the Famous Five, Secret Seven, in fact all Enid Blyton books. I am so happy to be here listening to them and reliving all the stories again. I still remember all the details to a tee. And Kate Winslett is a fabulous narrator. I love how she changes all the characters' voices. Thank you
I’m 81 and can’t think of a better way than listening to this. How I adored these books in the 1900s and kept them all for my children. Myw first one was like me and enjoyed nothing more in the school holidays than curling up with this and the others. She became a doctor and I never understood they weren’t allowed in libraries.
I sometimes can’t get to sleep and when I can’t I listen to this and it helps me get to sleep so thanks you are amazing 😊also the bit where they go to the spiders cave is my favourite part but I like all of it so it was hard to choose
I have no idea what order they,re supposed to be in but it really doesn,t matter they are just so good if you happend to find anything simallar pls upload it
lol I literally have too listen too it in the right order😂 It always has to go enchanted wood, the magic faraway tree and then the folk of the faraway tree😂❤
I was reading Enid Blyton long after I was supposed to read more mature reads - my teacher forced me to read Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson - which bored me silly ( I enjoyed it as an adult, just) ...so I soon went back to re-reading The Famous Five,The Secret Seven and of course The Enchanted Wood .Kate is brillaint on these audiobooks spoilt only by the renaming of some of the names - Dick,Fanny,Dame Slap...
I saw Kete playing the horrid Miss Hannegan in Annie in Reading's Starmaker many years ago.I have also seen her sister Anna in a musical called Thalidomide The Musical which after reading that title L thought 'Ooh I've just got to see that!" A very talented family

Why on earth would they take Connie anywhere? I’d just say NO! Does anyone else notice that the children don’t say please and thank you very often? They didn’t even say thank you to moon face and mr whatshisname for hauling them up the tree!
Loving this, thank you so much. So cute and frustrating that they're always doing the exact thing that they're not meant to do, but that's why we love the stories! What's another series like this I can get into? I'm trying books again.. for the billionth time 😅
You are so welcome! Have you ever read Gertrude Chandler Warner's Boxcar Children series? They are not exactly the same though. I think I do have several of the series (including the 1st book) but I'm not sure I can upload them. I think they are public domain, but not sure.
I wouldn't go that far in comparison. Despite the "editing" at least the basic story is still there to be enjoyed by current and future generations, and it would even be possible at some point to reverse the "editing" and restore it to the original format. If you burn it, it's just gone forever and no one can bring it back.
I have no idea. I actually thought this was the Audible version. I don't even remember where I got it, I have several "sources" I purchase from. I just checked and this is the Audible version, 5 hrs and 8 mins
