Our laws and constitution covertly identifies the American negro as a "person"..independent of national status, and a person can be nonhuman, treated with simple liberties..our legislation throughout history has never addressed the American negro exclusively, so we are marginalized in civil rights laws and ignored because we are an exception to this nation...refugees from the Civil War.

“The value gap is the belief that white people are valued more than others” and “the country is organized in every single way in terms of the value gap”. Really? In every single way? It’s amazing to see a highly paid Princeton professor stating a racial generalization while receiving applause for openly embracing such a racial stereotype and clear contradiction. The idea of the value gap is frequently a false belief that exists mostly in the mind of the person making the accusations. Donald Trump certainly is guilty of projection, but it’s clear that projection is not a problem of only the president or the white race.
The highly paid professor asks about white people, “who are they to give me anything?”. In these words one sees the tragic apartheid mentality in which he separates himself from those human beings whose skin color is different from his own. His use of “they” is a mental chain which binds him to an ideology of separateness from which he can’t escape. It is unfortunate that he has applied the chain to his own wrist. He has said elsewhere that white people need to “set themselves free from being white”. This intense bigotry insists on judging people by the color of their skin and not the content of their character - himself included. Despite his attempts at inspirational rhetoric his views have nothing to do with righteousness rolling like a mighty stream, etc., it’s just his attempt to escape the long chains in which he has bound himself. American apartheid is a strange chain which so many refuse to let go. Let’s not sacralize bigotry, stereotypes, and racist scapegoating. That’s the very definition of racism, and that’s the truth!
