Thank goodness for people like this woman, keeping the handmade crafts alive. 👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love how patient she is and she's soo detailed and is one of those teachers that wants you to learn and succeed.
So fortunate to be learning from her😊, but I have the volume full blast and can barely hear her. Good thing she's worth watching more than once. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge.
She is adorable
I love what she said ....."Nothin works like doing it right the first time."
It's so easy to rush thru our work, and ignore mistakes when we get in a hurry. But Mama was right when she said "What? You don't have time to do it right, but you have time do it over?"
Indians live in India.great vid,Ojibway man from MN at large in NorCal tokes and smiles....I live in the forest and you gave me a great new hobby as I quit booze and enjoy peace now.thanks.
I can do this. I took a class with a lady in Alabama twelve years ago. My very 1st basket was a success! A relaxing and satisfying hobby.😊
I have just gotten into making these and I love it so much, I don't even care that the longest needles we have max out at 4 inches if I am lucky. It is an excellent excersise in patience and the quest for longer needles is fun. Asking the yard man is a great idea! Thank you for making these videos.
She is such of a delight of a personality! It was so much fun watching this video for that reason alone- and learning from the 65 years worth of wealth of tips and techniques involved in the construction of a piece in this particular craft is invaluable educational material. Thank you, Ms. Pat for your generosity.
The BEST and most informative tutorials I’ve seen on how to make pine needle baskets!! She is a pro for sure. Extremely personable as she sprinkled in years worth of trial and error tips that are priceless. I truly enjoyed her pleasant nature and the relaxing music in the background as well. Thank you for sharing this beautiful art form with the world! Love from Michigan, Janessa. ❤
I have wanted to try this craft for years. I'm one who loves all crafts, try whatever I can but this one is so special to my heart. I am so happy that I finally found the right little lady that I can follow. What wonderful instruction. Thank you so much. I promise I will listen to every advise and use your knowledge in my own work. Bless you!
Thankful for her.❤ her knowledge is priceless 🙏🏼 thank you
I have fallen in love with you Ms Pat. I learned how to make my first basket although a small one. I have wanted to learn this craft for many years. Thank you so much
Thank you. I came here looking for something else and stumbled across this. As I watched, I remembered my grandmother having a whole set of pine needle saucers and plates. There was even a bread basket to keep the rolls warm. I just might have to start playing around with this to make my own. The mother-in-law likes to sale things at the flee market. This will give her something else to show.
I have really enjoyed watching and learning how to make pine needle baskets ! My first little basket turned out pretty good I think, even though it took me about 18 hours from start to finish. Lol
Made a very small basket using Torrey pine needles (which are great!) and a fine strong goat hair yarn. Would use both again.
Absolutely love this video!!
Thank you Mrs. Pat for the wonderful lesson! I also live in Winston Salem and it was a wonderful surprise to hear you live here as well. You have created some very beautiful artwork and you are truly appreciated. God Bless You and Keep You.
Miss Pat is an amazing woman! Thank you for sharing how to make these beautiful baskets!
I had a hard time hearing her but seeing her she does beautiful work.
So lovely, looks very relaxed while doing a fabulous art. Thanks for sharing this video.
love your teachin but more so I love your storys
I have so enjoyed watching this lovely, patient lady teach me how to make this gorgeous basket! I have made a few small baskets using sisal and yarn, but this is an entirely different look. I may just have to order the kit.
If u need Ponderosa or Gray pine needles & have a friend in northern Calif hills you can get ALL you want. I lost 3 trees in The Camp Fire but there’s still trees around. If I wasn’t so crippled up I would send them but alas age has caught up with me . Enjoy your weaving❤
Beautiful work, and beautiful teacher…
I was forever thinking how to waive and this video made me seriously get to it. The pine needles I have are shorter, but I intend to do it, for a try. Then maybe I can try with long grass. Thank you. What an inspiration you are! Bless you🙏🙏🙏
Love your work
Give the woman a microphone!
Sweet Lady, wish I could hear her.
I love the contrast between the apple watch and the weaving
This was a very informative video, such a sweet lady. Thank you Miss Pat!
You are so welcome! Thank you for viewing our videos! We have more coming up soon.
Pat dropping subtle shade about these people and their loose baskets. 🤭😂🤣😂
You truly are gifted at basket making. I so enjoyed your video. I was looking for the perfect Christmas gift for my family. I think I've found it! With your help I know I can do it! thank you so much!!!
I’m not sure if you’re aware but Christmas 🎄 is a pagan holiday. Read Jeremiah 10:1-5 and Nimrod started this whole mess! To know more about Nimrod. Listen to the book of Jasher: ua-cam.com/play/PLnFeV62jDbXV7VBZSFWeFtoXmSF8AimGt.html
haha i would love to be your granddaughter! So kind of you to give away your wondeful pieces of art. :)
I have watched many pine basket tutorials, this ☝️ one is thee best! Thank you for so much info and showing us so much. I so appreciate it! 🙂
Years ago I use to collect needles and be sure to take them off the tree that have fallen off. The ones that fall to the ground I leave them. I use to make coasters and small baskets. I really enjoyed it.
So glad! It is a beautiful artform.
love your work am so envious of your long pineneedles. Up in Canada we don't have such long ones. I use artifical sinew for my work. I sometimes use rafia but hard to find good rafia.
Hello Mrs Pat and lady, I started pine needle crafts about 3 months ago, I am making a hat and I’m about half way there, I only have small pine needles though I can’t believe the size of yours I wish I could find some in Europe.
Because mine are small it takes a while and I have to do the stitches closer together, it gives it a finer look though I am happy with the effect.
I will probably have to import some or grow some long leaf pine trees.
Sending my best wishes
Much love fellow weaver thank you for the knowledge.
Much appreciated. We will pass on your note to Ms. Pat. She has some more videos coming soon.
Great news on more videos.
❤❤❤ tnx granny
This is the very best tutorial I have seen online! Thank you so much. I made a few baskets 30 years ago and have started again and learned so much with this video. Thanks Miss Pat and the crew!
Thank you so much. That little basket that was made in this video would be great for rings
You are so welcome! We are so glad you enjoyed it. Will pass your message on to Ms. Pat. We have more virtual videos coming up soon.
I would so love to see the stitching close up. It's too far away to even see how she does a double stitch, but it is a great video.
I just ordered your kit and will be waiting (in)patiently to get it and then come back and learn. Thank you so much! 😃👍🏻
Very nice ❤
She is amazing. I love her.

Very butiful💜
Pottawatomie use animal bone for the guage instead of a straw. Beautiful weaving.
beutiful pine nedle basket
This is such beautiful handicraft! Have briefly watched the person who does this at ncstate fair in past years, this was super informative! Thank you
We are so glad you enjoyed. We will be posting a second video class from Ms. Pat very soon. This is using Raffia. The kits are also on sale here www.randolphartsguild.com/store/
This is how I want to get old
New to this.. what would I look out for on nature hikes around my home or in the woods. To practice or try before I go buying anything.. I love to crochet. Weave but never weaved this stuff before..
👏
In other tutorials I've seen they boil the needles and keep them damp until the basket is done so they are more pliable, I guess. Is the reason we don't have to do that with this one because the needles are so long?

Miss Pat, do you use glycerin. I’m new and I adore you baskets. I’m inspired. Thank you.
Hello, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your knowledge. It is my desire to learn how to make a pine needle basket. On the other hand in Quebec we have Pines which have small needles. Do you have a good address to recommend to me so that I can get some? Thank you for your attention to my message.
Does anyone know how long a basket like those would last? Would it deteriorate quickly?
I was having a hard time hearing the video.
Can you tell me what kind of pine needles those are and where I might be able to find them. I think the longest I have ever seen in my area is maybe three or four inches.
I missed the thread change was there one? how to hide knot when adding
where can I get those sliced walnut shells?
how big are the wood bottoms and how big are the holes? I want put a picture on it and I need to know . I also want to wood burn on one. And are they varnished on both sides? I would like to sign and date. Thank you for the info.

Amazing basket but the camera woman seems board of the woman and keeps moving when she isn't finished talking about the item in hand.
I've waited to see this video by sitting through the most ridiculous commercial about a skin care product, twice! AND...the video never came up. It kept running the commercial! Oh well!
This woman needs a microphone. It is impossible to understand her with such a soft voice that drops even lower in pitch. This woman is talented, but due to lack of something as simple as a microphone her information is wasted.
Annoying weird random background noises/non-music
