Wow! Thanks! This was my 1st Dead concert! 🤩
banger of a show from their Golden Age!
Wonderful set, tight playing, just great!
Thanks, Elaine!
One of the best shows of all time
Opening concert from a great 3 day run at the Winterland, drove out from Utah for the weekend, Great Shows, Great Memories.
We need a do over for this first ever US Blues! But seriously, a dynamite 3 set show . I also saw them play a 3 set show later in 1974. A great year indeed! Thanx Elaine!!
With Phil and Ned opening set?
curious observations: first show of 74 opening with a debut, which later found its place closing the set. on the other hand, jack straw which usually opens, is in the middle of the 3 set.
and must be roses, premiered in its "proper place"
@@eletricnaneland352 they played 3 sets on 7/31/74, with Phil and Ned set after set 2, in Hartford Ct.. Saw Phil and Ned 3 other times in 1974, all between sets 1 and 2. 1974, a great year for the boys! Have a fine weekend Elaine!!
🇺🇸 in a reset. Bwahahaha
Saw Phil and Ned 5 times in 1974. They played during the break between sets 1 and 2; except for a terrific 3 set show on 7/31. They came out between sets 2 and 3 and did their thing. Didn't do much for me. I thought it was unnecessary, just my opinion. Take care Elaine!!
@@markspringer9329 the true, i never listen until the end. Get annoyed 🙄😴🫣😱🥱 about phil and ned
Hey Now , I had cassette tapes of this show a long time ago and Wow what a set list all these songs were still being performed by the band until the end , Jerry’s sweet voice on Ship of Fools 🎸 Sail Away From Me !! Peace ☮ and be kind to everyone 😎🏄🏻♂🍄🌋🙏🐬🏖🐙🍺🎹🌺🌴🏝🤙
I love my AUD tapes from 74. Dont get me wrong the BOARDS are killer but most of my faves are audience. Best if I have both versions. Jali Hali Fronton aud tapes rule. Miami? 74. Let It Rock!
The Wall of Sound made for great audience taping. You couldn't hardly miss. @@erichanhauser3190
Thank Elaine another great one!!!
Love this era,- with the band hardly playing together so often that it was Keith keeping it together.
Love the sound of that chaos.
Thank you for this treat.
Thanks Elaine !!! You da best !!!! 😊
Fifty years and one day! Boy, did they sound great!
Such a sweet and Eyes of the World - sooo beautiful!
🌏🌍🌎👀👀
Eyes jam from 73-74 are something else.... Are the besties imo

@@eletricnaneland352 Yes, we're called Philo Telefunken, deep dive that one, hehehe📺
God I miss these days. Such a different time. If only the world now could feel the joy and power of this positive energy. Thank you.
Thanks Elaine! It's a great way to every day be challenged at remembering where the band was offstage during a particular date that affected the energy of the show you present.
Jerry was conducting The Dead Movie in his mind at this point.❤
Good morning family have a great day everyone
Thanks Stephen!!! Hope the same for you!!!
Well, well, well......isn't this just a smokin' show from '74, 50 years ago!! WOW!! There's nothing I'd rather listen too as work into the evening trying to save the world, 1 BTU at a time. Thank you, Elaine, tapers, and the Good Ol' Grateful Dead. FOREVER GRATEFUL🙏
Went to see the Captain
strangest I could find!
⛵🤡
My Mom & Dad were there. R.I.P. R&J. Love you both more than you'll ever know.
Killer setlist and show.

Thanks Elaine!!!
Love from San Rafael Marin county San Francisco California ⚡🍄🌱🌁🍄🌹🍄
This is Super Sweet! Such tight sound!! I was a mere 13 yrs of age and had not yet found my way.
I was glad to hear US Blues as an opener, but I thought that Jerry was pretty F…CKED UP because he couldn’t rip those rhymes out too well,, then in the notes that this was the FIRST performance of that song!! TY ELAINE!! GREAT 3 SET SHOW, with UJB as an ENCORE!!🔥✨✨🔥
“Shucks, folks, twarn’t nothing.”😂 Or as Mr. Takei would say: “Oh Myyyyy!” Or as I would say: Full speed, Dead ahead!” Thanks, Elaine, this is most awesome.
Isn't this the 50th anniversary of the Wall of Sound? EDIT: The almost completed Wall of Sound. I think Reno NV was the final version. I know, I'm a geek. Love you all. Thanks Elaine.
Great show. Thanks Elaine. ✨🧚🏼♀️✨🤗
Absolutely 73-74 always a pleasant listen in a different way or i must say different tempo 🥁🎸🎶...
Have a cool day taylor but not Swift 😅✨🐟☕☀️☮️💜
@@eletricnaneland352 lol. Swift isn’t my tempo for today. Wishing you a 73-74 kind of day. 🫖🤗🕺💃🏻🥤🐚

Thank you! Is this the one where Nicky Hopkins came out and did "Edward the Mad Shirt Grinder" with the Dead?? Will listen more later have bookmarked.
Another great show at Winterland! So many fabu songs.
That's what a say: what a setlist! Yes! 🙀😺
Beautiful- thanks for this. Shimmering "CCS/Rider" and a crystalline "Eyes"; love hearing what Keith was doing on the piano and Bobby's phrasings.
Maravilloso ❤

6 days later and I keep coming back to this one ⚡💀🔊🎶🤹✨♥️
Nice little surprise in Playing in the band. Sounded like help on the way into Slipknot. 1973 and 1974 have some of the best sounding shows. Thanks
Yes, Slipknot jam but not quite the Slipknot as it later evolved. There's another one in The Other One the next night (2/23). All three of these shows are just HUGE, as solid as any all through this great year, and, RELAXED, down home. GD for the ages.
End of an era caught for potential use in GD Movie. Jerry said by the time the movie came out they had moved on. May be drums in there but not listed. How many 3 set shows or even 2 that don;t have Drums.? As far as 1st US Blues, they'd been doing Wave that Flag for a long time.
slightly different letter. and official as us blues name
Drums in the middle of the second set didn't start to become a regular feature until 1978. Before that, were often drum solos (or duos) -- the Dead were even known for it -- typically in That's It For The Other One or Good Lovin -- but they weren't a steady feature and weren't always in the 2nd set. US Blues is a revision and rewrite off Wave That Flag.
That's some sweet audio! Is it the Charlie Miller effect?
Hello Elaine, Love you posts, brightens my day! I was wondering if you have any recordings of Quicksilver Messenger Service?
Thanks, Mark
Hey welcome. I can looking for. But my intention and priority here is jerry.
I just saw the closing of Winterland and saw John Cipollina playing with the Dead and thought that you might have something with more of him!
My three favorite guitar players are Jerry, Cip, and Carlos Santana!
All from San Francisco!
Thanks, Mark @@eletricnaneland352
