As always, hope this video helps you make your own decision like if this case is enough for what you want/need or not really.
Excuse me sir, im planing to buy this exact gpu and cpu to play in 1080p (I know that It IS a little overkill, but I want a 1080p for futureproof).
Do you think that It Will bottleneck in 1080p in competitive games that requiere a lot of cpu and games that need more gpu?
Thanks in advance and excuse me for my 0 english, im spanish
@@PabloSuaDel No, the 7800X3D is an exceptional CPU. Also, you can later just upgrade to 1440P (and you should) and use DLSS quality if needed
How do I know if Resizable bar is activated. I have an AM5 MSI motherboard. I did activate resizable bar in bios, But in TechPowerUP GPU-Z, It says it didn't activate in bios.
Thanks for those tests you uploaded. Very straightforward and meaningful. I made up my mind and bought a 80super after your 80s testing video.
I could smell that 4070 Super Overclocking & Undervolting vidoe guide is coming out soon 😄
I don't own this but still appreciate your time and efforts🙏🙏👍👍
I do my best as usual haha
@@AncientGameplays As usual👍👍🙌
Greeeeeaat video as always!!!
You're the best, like always :).
Can you please, when possible, include an ultrawide monitor (if you still have it) in your future benchmarks? 😅
It would provide a comprehensive comparison of 1080p, 2k, 3k, and 4k.
Fabio, you never cease to amaze me! Thank you for your videos and all that you contribute to this amazing community!
Thank you for the awesome comments as well
im wanting fsr 3.1 already i can not wait any freaking longer for it. and also ancient great video as always man
good video friend. One question, can you make a video of the Rtx 3060 12gb to see how it performs this month? greetings
I personally got my RTX4070 (non-Super) a few weeks after launch as an ‘open box’ deal for ~$490USD plus taxes, here in Australia 🇦🇺 and it’s a compact version which fits my PS2 sized HTPC case perfectly and works well at 1440p for fps shooters and 4K 60fps w/ Quality DLSS for most titles well and looks brilliant on my Oled tv 📺 🥰🥳👍💪.
I’m happy with its performance, temps etc and with the price I paid for mine.
Thanks for an awesome review once again Ancient Gameplays 🥰💪🥳🤩
so this gpu is basically 60+ in any game at 1440p with rt/pt + dlss q. in the games where you are just shy of 60 (cyberpunk pt, disorde pt) frame gen delivers those extra frames to achieve constant 60. and they say rt is too demanding to run on anything except 4090 so you should buy 7800xt or something
Watched it all my man 💪🤩👍😇
Thanks!
Just the video I was looking for. This is really great. Also Fabio is an epic name.
Haha, welcome to my channel
What software are you using to display the performance numbers like avg fps on the left?
MSI afterburner
Hi, nice video! One question what tool do You use to check visualize the temp and FPS on screen ?
Msi afterburner
Honestly, I'm looking at either the 7900 gre or XT, but I'm not sure if I should wait for the 8000 series equivalents to come out and then buy second hand or just get the new ones of similar performance if they're more efficient.
amd might actually have already stopped producing xt and xtx, and everything available are shop stocks, just maybe
How hard would it be to make a chart with fps, game and setting? Or at least the average fps count for different settings? Thanks for the effort!
It just wouldn't make sense at all as this is not a GPU comparison... you can already see the settings and the average/current fps. The point of these videos is to see everything on the live overlay
Rtx 4070 super will be desktop only right? I play with laptop so im waiting next gen graphics rtx5xxxm and rx8xxxxm
I got this GPU coming from a GTX 1060. I love it. Great video man. Would love an undervolting/overclocking guide for the 4070S
That will come 💪
idk why but it gibes me chills watching your game tests before bed 😂
Good haha
I am really happy to see you moved to the 7800x3d, finally! Hopefully AMD will consider you in the list to test zen5 when it comes out this year too.
Again, great work, amazing selection of games, new titles that are relevant these days... no one can do it better. Always pushing the GPUs to make them look the best, but not crazy to be unstable... you are THE GPU REVIEW guy these day... and I follow a bunch of youtubers!
Thank you for the kind words. Amd will get me a zen5 and rdna4 I believe. 7800x3d is here now since it will be the next GPU benchmark CPU haha
@@AncientGameplays it will be still on top for a while, unless they release the 9800X3D earlier 😅
Hi Fabio. Which one I should buy for an Asus x670e gaming Mobo.... Ryzen 9 7900 or 7 700x? Obviously gaming PC
gaming only, get the 7800X3D and don't look back for the next years, OR, get a cheap 7700 non-X and later upgrade to the 8000 series
@@AncientGameplays Excelente! Will do that!
Muchas gracias Fabio 💪
Can i achieve same fps numbers as yours with 5700x3d or should i go with a better cpu ?
I want 1440p gaming with ray tracing 40 fps locked idc about high fps numbers bcoz i love playing single player titles
With this card at 1440P? Yes
Robocop just released another update fixing the frame gen.
Smooth as butter now, but I hope they will update to 3.1 when it launches. Upscaling still leaves a lot to be desired. Very fizzly image, especially light being reflected.
Along with Anti-lag+, since input lag could use some help as well. They need to go with nvidia route and make every game supporting frame-gen also support anti-lag+.
YES, I just tested it some again ago. Also, anti-lag+ isn't "re-released" yet. I will make a video tomorrow as I believe it deserves the attention
@@AncientGameplays Yeah, I know. I'm just saying, that going forward, when it's ready, every frame gen title should support it.
Now we just need the last of us to fix the frame gen
So I have a 3060 Ti and I'm looking to upgrade. Got a 13700k and I'm only running 1440p so I don't need anything too fancy. Is the 4070 Super good enough or should I go for the 4070 Ti Super? I don't do editing, streaming etc.
Would be funny if you included the original Crysis also :-)
I don't know to much but I might go with the 4070 TIS just because of the additional vram. It also has slightly better fps if that is important to you.
6 months ago I bought a Liquid Devil 6800 XT for $416 ($459 after shipping) that I run at 2650MHz @ 1010mV at 1440p. The rasterization performance is near enough to the 4070 Super to call identical, sometimes even a few FPS better. RT performance is obviously worse, but the only game where the 4070 Super actually achieves a 30%+ lead to justify it's anywhere from 28-40% higher price is Cyberpunk w/ PT. Other RT titles are usually in the +20-25% region. Most surprisingly to me, the power consumption is not much lower than my 6800 XT (~40-45W). All that being said, the 4070 Super is a really good card, but it has a really bad price.
horizon just got the xess 1.3 update can you make a video for taa vs xess native aa for amd users please ?
It did? I already did with the 1.3 xess dll, upscaling wise should be the same.. watch my taa vs fsr vs xess video
You should make longer tests so we could see the components in their stationary state regarding temperature
They won't go much over this
@@AncientGameplays okay, thanks for the fast reply !
Getting 3090 levels of performance in a smaller form factor, better power efficiency, and just at 12gb of ram. Despite the price and VRAM, this could be one of those GPU’s that people are still going to praise when the 50 series cards release especially when this card is under a heavy discount.
thank you good sr
Do you think it makes much difference using a older CPU on 1440P with this GPU?
I have a I7 9700K CPU. Compared to your results here i mean.
That one is not just "older", it is quite old, so in some games you'll see lower performance, but nothing ground breaking I believe
@@AncientGameplays Ok thank you for your response.
This update fix FSR3 frame generation and rolled back to older version of it. try to test it
Avatar Title Update 3.2
Yeap, will test that and robocop soon!
In my country, the rx 7900xt costs about 130 usd more than the rx 7900 gre ,do you think it's worth it
For 130? Yes, watch my comparison video i made some days ago
Which GPU you have experienced absolute no stuttering?
None, but amd ones are generally more fluid to me in terms of high tier
I got excited for a sec when I saw the Hellblade Thumbnail.. cant wait to play the second one... also all the work again with the benchmark and all. Pretty much every game one could ask for. (except Ark Survival Ascended :P which still runs like crap )
Thank you, will play it as well!
Is it optimized settings ? Because i've seen people with the same card struggling to hit 60fps with Alan Wake 2 at 1440p max while you're hitting an 100
The settings are what is shown, not optimized. Alan wake 2 got uodates too a d drivers made it better too, also, look at the settings...
Other tests are in a different part of the game. In the forest area it is the most demanding and hence the 50-60 fps. Other parts are just easier to render
Yisus don't play with my heart, Hellblade 2 Senua's Saga is not released yet :(
Hahaha, almost there!
They supposedly fixed FSR3 frame gen in Robocop today.
Yeap, will make a video tomorrow morning
@@AncientGameplays was hoping so nice 😊
Also, avatar/robocop/ratchet timestamps are wrong
Best humanly affordable ada gpu imho
Oh, let's me lay an eye on that
Why you get under 100 fps on RDR2? i get even 120+ with dlss on quality and i have the same gpu. The weird thing is the game drops the fps occasionally to 80+ but for a very short amount of time, then comes back to normal, i guess the optimizations aren’t the best.
I mean, unless you're running absolutely everything at max on the same spot...
The most important metric we need is temperatures and power consumption
and it is there
You mentioned stuttering in 1440p does this happen also in 1080p?
Stuttering is only in some specific games, and you can use dlss
@@AncientGameplays thx, not a tech expert but how you explain is easy to understand loved ur videos
What's wrong with the VRAM stuck at 12GB? I'm actually curious as to what the actual usage is for this card.
dude, that's the VRAM frequency...are you guys that blind?.... Jesus, it says "MHz" there
@@AncientGameplays well, can you add vram usage on the interlay?
@@itsatrap4986it is brotha, it’s put next to the power draw at the very top
@@princewar4846 I see it. It's kind of tiny.
Nice ❤❤❤
thanks!
I wish Escape from Tarkov would be included in the list even if it's in Beta. Though, it does require a beefy CPU to separate the cards performance.
Tarkov has been beta for years...
@@AncientGameplays So is that a yes ? 😁
What's up Fabio! Just wanted to share after your video yesterday that there is an update for Robocop that dropped this morning and with it they fixed frame generation. It's much much better now... Cheers 🎉
Ohh, let me lay an eye on it! Just daw that avatar got fixed as well
@@AncientGameplays sweet I'll have to check it out also, thanks my friend
From your opinion after testing, is 12 GB enough?
Most games as seen yes, others? Not really, with some stutters here and there. The 790gre is overall smoother
Games like Cyberpunk could become problematic if you enable RT + FG. Then it comes very close to the 12 Gigs. Without RT it's fine but I think if you buy this card you want to have the RT experience.
@@Th3_Dark_SideExcept that it still provides a superior experience compared to 16gb cards from AMD with RT.
You really get those FPS in Jedi survivor in native 1440p with RT after patch 8? I also have a RTX 4070 super, paired with a i5 12600K, and get around 50 FPS in native 1080p with RT in the same area in Koboh and it's complete stutter fest. Game is completely broken...
Don't know what patch, but those fps were real of course
I have Palit version with 3 fans and it never boosts so high.
tweak it
This card perform really well, but it would be nice to see compared to the 7800XT.
Already did that, check my video section
@@AncientGameplays I actually watched that before, but I did not remember it :D
I´m going to buy this card at the end of June of 2024, the 4070 Super because I want to try ray-tracing, I have right now a 6700XT, I'm going to upgrade my 1080 144Hz monitor to a 1440 120-165Hz at the end of the year, I want your advice, do you think this card will allow me to get at least 60FPS on 2026?, or is a waste of money?, I referring to the card, the 4070 TI Super is out of my budget.
very hard to know, as we now have upscaling, frame gen and so on, But I believe so
@@AncientGameplays Thanks
Hi i'm about to order my build with 7800X3D and was recommended the 4070 super. This would be for 1080p CS2 + potential AAA (still want pleasant experience)
As you mentioned some stuttering occurring at 1440p i wonder if that would also be the case at 1080p?
If yes wich GPU would you recommend?
If VRAM is the problem the 4070 ti super is 250 euros more, or i could get the 7900GRE but id rather stay nvidia for features/games compatibility
Stuttering isn't an issue on 1440p its actully kinda dumb to ask if it will stutter on 1080p a 3060 wouldn't stutter at 1080p a lot of there are caused by bad optimization as most games play 2ithout stutters Cs will play well if u have a 1050 so it wouldn't matter at all tho if u want the extra vram the 250 eros seems like a lot u could buy the 7900gre
THANKS FOR HUNT SHOWDOWN!
i just bought that gpu , but v-sync is broken with nvidia , didn't have that isue with intel Arc :/ (my computer is up to date , fresh install )
There's no way vsync is broken lol. You need a clean driver install

Already fixed those
there is an error in chapter starting from metro exodus
Yes, I already fixed it, thank you!
Same GPU I have but using a 5800X3D. I guess I can compare and just take off 20% of what the 7800X3D gets.😎
nah, the GPU is the bottleneck here, 5% at most overall
@@AncientGameplays Oh ok thanks, good to know. I will keep my 5800X3D for quite a while longer 🎮😎👍
only 4070 super with frame generation ?

Uh?
Please test RTX 4050 as well like this
Never heard of it
@@AncientGameplays I believe you only test desktop GPUs, it's a laptop only GPU with 6 GB VRAM
This is about ps5 pro performance but if it launched with a modern CPU.
EDIT: My bad, but even PS5 Pro would be quite slower as the it is supposed to feature something like a power limited RX 7800Xt, which is quite slower than this
Not even close lol. Ps5 has literally a 6700 non xt inside... MUCH slower than the 4070, let alone the 4070 super
@@AncientGameplaysah I forgot about the power and heat considerations inherent to consoles but still believe even if its power limited 7800xt, it won’t be that much slower than the desktop equivalent. It’s gonna be mainly the zen 2 CPU we’re gonna have to worry about lol.
15:13
I'd have done the same lmao
It still dont average 100 fps in 1440p pure perfomance
4070 Super for $720 or rx 7900 gre $680 (I want RT for alan wake 2. I'm gaming in 2k)
Watch my comparison video 💪
For alan wake since you have framegen, 4070 super is the way to go
Testing in different scenes is confusing. In the same Alan Wake 2 it may seem that the 4070 super is faster than the 4070 ti super.
It doesn't seem anything as this is not a gpu comparison... of course different parts will be heavier or lighter
The only nvidia card that's actually decent in terms of price to perf
true
Please do this but without the X3D cpu… I want to see this with the 7700x
makes no difference at all. the 4070 Super is not that fast
In MFS you'll get lower fps, because the games loves more CPU cache
@@WolfChen only if you're using high settings. A 7700x does 160fps usually
@@AncientGameplays ah ok, thanks for letting me know :)
Ah, now all cards are complete. It's nice from Nvidia sending you their cards.
indeed it is!
Running at full power under 200w in most games. Impressive. AMD should increase efficiency for their gpus
Well, with some underclocking my 7900xtx eats about the same during gaming and performance does not drop much. They can be quite efficient if not tuned to the max..
Hellblade thumbnail but no gameplay :(

I also considered the 4070TiS but in my country they go for 1100E… so I ended up getting a 7900 GRE for 600E.
All my life I enjoyed both team green and team red so no fanboys here…
for the price the 7900GRE is just too good
An Nvidia GPU is always worth a thorough review like this. I will keep watching, Fabio. And RIP AMD🎉
lol
Ah, a Nvidia fanboi. Have fun with your 12 gb. :-)
@@brulaapgaapmeester8052Currently there are no major issues with 12GB cards, even at 4K res, if you are not setting every option to max. Smartly optimized graphics settings with addition of DLSS make 4070 Super pretty decent 4K GPU, especially with OCed memory.
At 1440p you can easily play even at max settings and w/o DLSS, but still take advantage of DLAA.

@@AncientGameplays in Greece no impossible
Also in Serbia its around 800 euros
Worth it over a 7800xt or 7900gre? I really don't think so...
What!? Here in my country it cost like $670
Nah, less than 16gb is a waste of money in the long run.
Why so?
Eventually 16gb is gonna be not enough. 16gb is good especially if you’re gaming at 4K. But for 1080p/1440p you’ll be fine with 12
@@Grandmaster_Vic by the time 16 gb are not enough those cards wont be enough powerfull either, 12gb is not enough already like the 4070 super having issues at 1440p in ratchet and clank, so no, you are not fine and in many scenarios like avatar, the last of us, re 4 remake and other triple aaa games you are pushing 10+ even 11gbs ... you dont even have what consoles have wich are the baseline, even consoles have more vram usable, because even if not 16 is above 12... and the new ps5 pro according to leaks will be closer to the 16, i wonder how 12gb cards will do with such shitty optimization we pc gamers get when the pro is out... you will need to lower settings more than you do EVEN TODAY in edge sncearios. 192 bits bus is a laughing joke aswell
@@nicane-9966 it really all comes down to what types of games you play. If you enjoy playing a lot of modern day AAA titles then sure go get that 16 gbs. Because most of the time at launch the games are unoptimized like shit until maybe 6 months after launch you’ll have a more optimized game that consumes less VRAM initially ( Last of Us Part 1, RE4 for examples). Plus Ratchet and clank runs about over 100 fps without ray tracing at 1440p max (which let’s be real, unless you’re playing games like Cyberpunk or Alan Wake 2, ray tracing isn’t worth it). So what issues are there?
Nothing wrong with going 16 gb as yes it gives you a bit of a safety net. But it’s also worth it if you play a bunch of new Triple A titles. Personally I only plan to play like 2 Triple A titles this year but the rest are just indie games and some older games. So 12gb with very good performance is enough for me personally.
A card without decent RT performance is a waste in the long run. We already have games that you can't turn RT off, or have to use low settings for lighting/shadows/reflections/AO ECT to turn it off. As it's used as the main source of those effects and on with normal settings.
By the time 12gb isn't enough for 1440p all the 12-16gb cards (excluding the 4080/s) will be running into performance issues anyway. Not because of vram, but because of raw performance. I own a Rx 6800 and by the time it's using (dont be confused with allocating) 12gb of vram you're running performance issues. Only time it could see it mattering is times that raw performance would have you at 20fps regardless.
