"You don't belong in there sweetheart." - cracked me up! Loved your patriotic pillow parade. I've missed seeing you on FlossTube and I'm so glad you're feeling better and back to filming. Thanks for including me in your lineup of FlossTubers. YOURS are videos that I always watch, too! - Sheri
I just love your patriotic pieces so much. Nothing beats r, w, b. I've been thinking about your question a lot about new ideas for finishing because we all tend to do smalls as pillows. But, I've done needlecases, floss and ort flat cases, a small table mat for retreats or on the go stitching to cover your place at the table (like a placemat with pockets, etc.), mug rugs, add to hand towels, and I even covered the pocket on my shirt with a x stitch piece, small notions bags or cosmetic bags. I made a large scissor case for my dressmaker shears. Hope this gives you some ideas. On the white wooden basket you could put your pieces on with magnets so they can be changed out at will. You are very creative, so I know you will find the perfect idea for your stitched stuff. I am so glad both you and hubby are on the mend. As always, seeing your wips and haul makes me want to stitch all the things. ❤ p.s. book or journal covers. 😊
I am so happy to see you back. Missed you! Sorry you had such a tough time with all that pain, but thankful that a solution was found. Of course all of your pieces are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your patriotic items. The 2 you rescued are precious. I have several done with our flag as well. God bless!
Always like seeing what you have been up to. Love your patriotic stitching! Some day I hope to have some small pillows. Usually am stitching things to give as gifts. Currently 2 Christmas stockings for my 2 grandsons. Thanks so much for sharing your stitching!
I was so excited to see your UMCOR Sager Brown shirt! I have been 3 times with my church from Tennessee- it’s a great mission but always fun to meet Methodists from across the country! Thanks for sharing your stitching with us. Scissors, bluebird, flag, fox, Valentine, hive
Praise God you are feeling better; we will keep you and Jerry in our prayers! It was great to visit with you today and to see all your lovely stitching and haul!💕🌸fox, Valentine, hive, scissors, flag, bluebird
So nice to see you! You’re looking fabulous! Mary had a little lamb, scissors, bluebird, hive, valentine, fox. For your USA finish, it would look so cute as a block finish around floral styrofoam - get two pieces, put fabric around one, the stitched piece around the other, glue together. Then pin a thick ribbon around both to hide the seam. Thanks for sharing your stitching and hope you and your husband continue to improve. Will say prayers for you.
Was so pleased to see you had done a new video. I so enjoy watching your stitching. I don't cross stitch but do enjoy seeing other peoples handiwork. So glad you are better in your back and leg. God bless you and Jerry.
Such fun to discover your floss tube channel. Mary had a little lamb looks good for a fall stitch or fox. Enjoyed listening and seeing your projects and plans.
Ok!! Back w my end of Flosstube comment! I love seeing the patriotic pieces! Thank you for sharing them! I’m sorry to hear of the pain you have had.. and you are right it changes your life in a bad way and so I’m very happy that you are doing better! Be sure to take care and you will be in my continued prayers. Such good news that your husband is feeling so much better. Good to see you today😊
Very glad to see this new flosstube! I’m glad things are improving health wise. I’m glad your husband is also improving. Pain is not easy. May the Lord bless you both. You do beautiful things. 🧵🧵❤️❤️❤️
I am so pleased to hear that you and your husband are doing better. You have had a long hard road. Thanks for sharing your patriotic stitches; they are just beautiful. For the projects that aren’t completely finished, have you considered doing a flat fold? I like the patterns you shared with the scissors, bluebird, flag, Fox, and valentine. Thanks for sharing.
Was so glad to see you again. You always have such cute stuff. I think you should put those stitch pieces into a quilt for table, or small wall hanging. Once again thanks for enabling….. patterns, valentine, flag, hive, bluebird.
It is so lovely to see you again. I'm so glad that the Drs. have been able to help you with the pain. I have been on a stitching break for 3 months because I have arthritis in my left thumb. I received a cortisone shot and some OT which has helped a lot. I am back stitching, but not as long or frequent. Getting older has its challenges. I always love seeing what you have stitched. You really are a pleasure to watch. Thank you!!!
It is always good to see your flosstube pop up. I actually said a prayer for you the other day. I thought about it had been a while since you had been on. We all need to rest for sure. Sometimes even from cross stitch!!!
So good to see you Marlene, sorry to hear of your hip and back issues but happy to hear a good report you are better and your hubby is doing well. Especially liked your tool box full of patriotic stitches. Blessings to you, Kristy.
You look marvelous ❤. A season of rest has done good things for you. So happy your feeling better. For the finishing … the patriotic pieces. Thinking a flat finish, back with interfacing then felt and cut around. I think if you attach them on picks ( dowels/ chop stick ) you could display them in your mason jars like a plant pic. Would be darling on your shelves. The Halloween piece I like the crooked seams :) Again a flat finish with ties and tie on the outside of a basket . ❤. Looking forward to seeing you and you in July .
I love the idea of putting them on dowels! Someone suggested I make the seams even more crooked and I think I’ll try that...sounds cute. I can’t wait for July! Love you so much! Blessings, Marlene
I don't know where to start, Marlene lol. Great video! Glad your med is working for your back! I found out not too long back that I have Degenerative Disk disease and it came on with a vengeance and I tell everyone that. When you used that word I sort of lol'ed cause we know the feeling. I haven’t gotten a med that helps yet. Going back to doctor soon. All your cross stitch pieces, finished or not, are so nice! I'm downsizing and not ONE person in my family wants any of my cross stitch pieces or family things! I'm going to put some framed pieces in a shop and maybe they will sell. I refuse to give them to Goodwill! I am sharing charts with a few stitchers on and offline. Please let me know if you need more giveaways! I'm glad your husband is doing well. I love your "tool box" for your pillows. I had 2 different sized dough bowls and gave them away without ever putting the first pillow in them! It's hard to sit and cross stitch knowing no one will want it. Take care, sweet friend❣️ Here is a saying for you: The thing about PAIN is it demands to be FELT! That needs to be on a shirt lol.
Janet I’m so sorry no one wants your cross stitch. What about friends? I have pieces stitched by friends that I absolutely treasure. I have them on my wall right along with my pieces. I must say stitched pieces don’t sell for much in antique stores and/or flea markets. Or maybe there’s a nursing home that would like to hang them in rooms or halls. I don’t worry overmuch about what will happen to mine. I know my children and grandchildren will take at least one apiece as a remembrance but if they go to Goodwill then maybe some stitcher like me will come along and give them a good home. I’m so sorry about your pain. Jerry’s grandmother had that and it was awful. I hope they will soon have a cure for it. Blessings, Marlene
Mary had a little lamb her scissors were sharp as could be. She used them to cut out valentines and pieces for her flag. One day Mr Fox was chasing the bluebird but the bird managed to escape because he got his paw stuck in the bee hive So glad I found your FlossTube. Thank you for all the great projects you had to share❤
For your mother in law piece what about making it as a front of a project bag? This year for a few of my new small patriotic stitches I made them into ornaments for a small lighted tree I leave up. Instead of stuffing them I mounted them on wood or tin flat ornaments from Walmart (left over from Christmas clearance). Always enjoy your videos.
Your finishes are always beautiful. I personally would not use that lovely, rich red velvet as a backing piece on a flat where only an inch will show. I'd save that for a pillow or another finish where it can have be showcased a bit more. I suggest using a less expensive but equally color rich fabric to back the piece going on the box.
Hi Marlene! Sounds like you had a well-deserved and much needed season of rest. An idea for the Good Tidings of Joy - what about making a table runner out of it? As for the punch needle with the house and pumpkin - I'd suggest taking off the borders and them make them really crooked and wonky, like the house! Can you make it into a grown-up trick or treat bag? haha I enjoyed spending my evening with you while I stitched on a Mill Hill kit. Take care and happy stitching!
Have missed you Marlene. Sorry to hear that you’ve been poorly. You will soon get your stitching mojo back ❤❤ keep safe and well and sending you all my love and prayers from over the pond. Love Gail xx ❤❤
I enjoy your videos. Seeing all of your patriotic smalls has me wanting to gather up some of my finishes and get 'em FFO'd! The little fox was drawn to the sound coming from the hive.
So good to see you back. Please continue to take good care of yourself and allow yourself grace in recovery.Scissors, bluebird, flag, fox, Valentine please.
There was a bluebird perched on my garden flag one day. He sang to me so sweetly while my scissor snipped away. The bees were buzzing gently as they traveled to the hive. A fox came by and asked why I looked like I pined. I told him that I pined for my long lost valentine.
Oh hello Marlene - I’ve only just found your Flosstube of two weeks ago and have been so happy to watch. For some reason I’ve not been getting notifications of my subscribed flosstubers which is annoying - so I did a search for you and found you had published 2 weeks ago. So sorry you’ve had so much trouble with pinched nerves etc. So, so debilitating! Great to see what you had to show and tell and I’ll certainly be watching out for you again soon. Ever6 blessing! 🐨👍
I like the idea of putting a piece on each side of the box. I would frame the Santa, animal, ark piece. You could do a larger pillow (sofa size) with your Mother in Law’s piece.
Hi Marlene, I have missed you since seeing you and your sister at Quilter's Station. I hate that your back and hip have been bothering you, but will be praying that you get back to your normal activities. I do understand what you are going through as I have had two hip replacements, back surgery, and neck surgery from two old injuries, but now am doing quite well. I will continue to pray for recovery for your husband and that you two can get back to all the fun activities you used to do. God is good and He will continue to uphold you during this phase of recovery and healing. Dottie
Mary had a little lamb, scissors bluebird flag hive valentine Fun video! I enjoyed listening to you chatter about stitching and life. It keeps me company. Happy stitching!
Don’t fix the crooked red border on the Halloween house piece. The roof on the house is crooked too so a crooked border adds to the charm. Maybe find a crooked frame.
I liked the wonkyness of the Halloween piece, matches the house on it. Really would be cute on a basket, broom, etc. The Christmas piece on the crate would've so cute, put makers on crate, mount with washers, change out. So wonderful to see you again.
Marlene I haven’t even watched yet!! Need to Carve out some time tonight when I have less distractions. Just wanted to say I’m sooo excited and happy to see your face and am ready for a terrific Flosstube! Catch you at the end. Hugs❤
May I suggest magnets for the basket and washers for the back of the Mounting board ? Then you can always switch out and put the season you’re not using inside the basket. Oh don’t straighten your punch needle outer Fabric as it goes with the crooked house. I think it looks neat Mary had a little lamb scissors bluebird flag fox valentine hive
I am so happy to find you again; I used to follow your blog and it's great to reconnect via this medium. Sending hugs and best wishes, Marlene! - Mrs. Goodneedle
So glad to see you back. Mary had a little lamb. Scissors Bluebird Flag Fox Valentine Hive Your white hair is absolutely beautiful. Sending lots of hugs and prayers for both of you.
Bluebird, flag, Put some faux red geraniums in your bag to keep it open! I love that you’re also saving the stitches! So cute! I sure do get the achy feeling you refer to. My achiness is in my knees. There are days I, too, do the stairs one at a time!!!
Thank you for the update. Love the pillows, they turned out so pretty. Sorry about your hip pain, hope it gets better. Scissors, bluebird, flag, fox, valentine.
Hi Marlene So Great to see a Video from you - Glad that you and Jerry is doing better. Mary Had A Little Lamb was my all time favorite - I think I may have a book of this. My Dad use to get Honey from a man out in the Country that had Bee Hives and he showed me and my brother his Bee Hive outfit and the Hives that he had. Bees Fascinates me especially the Queen Bee. Foxes are so fast and they are pretty - I love Red Foxes - their coat is so pretty. My one Aunt and Uncle is buried at the Arlington National Cemetary and as a family we went there three different times. We saw all of the Flags that was on each and everyone of the Graves. We also got to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Changing of the Guard - it is a sight to behold. Love seeing this beautiful Cemetary. Love all of your WIPS Marlene - you are making great progress on them. I love seeing all of your Stitching Tools as I call them. Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🙏🧵🪡🧵☕️❤️
Hi Marlene! Always nice to see you ♡ For Good Tidings of Joy, how about a long, rectangular pillow. Your punchneedle piece, can you quilt the border and hang it? Those are my ideas. The flag is so beautiful. Your projects are so beautiful. I love them all. Your patriotic finishes are gorgeous! Sweet Land of Liberty is pretty. I have issues with pain in my back and hip. All the left side. So far, cortisone shots help. I sleep with my heating pad. I'm glad you are finding relief. Yes, and don't push it. We pay for it when we do. I'm glad your husband is feeling good. I'm looking forward to hearing about the 🐝 bees! Take care. Blessings to you and your husband ♡
Hello Marlene. Such a pleasure to visit with you again. Thank you for spending your time with us. I appreciate the update on yourself and on Jerry. Im very glad to know you are both seeing progess. I hope that continues. ❤ Scissors
I rushed over as soon as I saw your new video. I have missed you. So sorry to hear about the back/hip issues and so glad to hear that you are making improvement every day. I have had two past back surgeries and feel very fortunate to have done so well since the last one which was 1995. I will keep you in my heart and will send love and good thoughts for a complete recovery. I was very touched by your kind shout out and to be included with those wonderfully talented FlossTubers. Thank you for keeping me company on this dreary Sunday afternoon in Northern California. You are so very special, Marlene.
I enjoyed your video! I also enjoyed meeting you at Quilter's Station. We chatted for a short bit when you were in the sitting area. You had commented on my curly hair 😊. I enjoyed meeting you and felt bad we didn't get to chat a bit longer but it sure was a busy time! Glad you identified your issue with your back and happy to hear you're feeling a lot better. Regarding the questions you asked in the beginning, I really like the white box idea with the Christmas pattern and I think the pattern you were considering making into a drum will be a bit on the large side and might look better in a frame, as you suspected. Happy stitching!
Flag, bluebird, Fox, hive, scissors, Valentine. I emailed you my address. Thank you. Glad to see you back and glad you are getting some relief from the pain. Prayers for you and your husband.
Hello! Thank you for spending the evening with me while I stitched. I honestly think you need to make the world's largest drum with that piece you already have pinned!! Do you have any clothing left from your MIL? If you do, maybe make a pillow or wall hanging using the fabric from her clothes? And how about a wall hanging with all of those patriotic pieces? I am so happy you are feeling better. It was so good to see you! hugs and stitches----oh yeah....and thank you for helping to normalize taking a rest! We need to work on practicing that it is okay to rest. :0)
Marlene, you are such a blessing to me and to the stitching community. You are indeed a stitching treasure. I’m happy to hear both you and Jerry are on the mend. Thank you for the lighting review. I have a Halo Go which the one elbow broke unfortunately. So I’m looking for another one. I was going to order the Foldi Go, but you made me realize it has no magnifier. Thanks for saving me from ordering the wrong light. Mary Had a Little Lamb, and it’s Scissors were borrowed by a wily Fox. A Bluebird had a conversation with the bees in the Hive, and concluded the fox wanted to give something to his beloved as a Valentine Day present.
I was just thinking of you last week and hoping that all was well in your home by the lake … glad to see you ; nice video as always. Thanks ( #8 email sent )
So nice to have you back and I’m so, so happy you’re feeling better! I think the Merry Christmas will be beautiful in the white box. You can fill it with greenery and Christmas pillows. Have you ever done a flat fold? Vonna Pfeiffer has a great tutorial. They’re cute and are easily stored. The small patriotic pieces can be glued on stars , flags or blocks found at hobby lobby or Michaels. Have fun finishing!
So happy to see a post from you Marlene. You have been missed. Loved seeing all the smalls in your tool box of patriotic stitches. Take care. Blue birds and fox.
Marlene I LOVE your punch needle house with the red moon just the way it is!! In my opinion Handmade things don’t have to be symmetrically perfect. I love it just the way it is! ❤
Have you thought about trying a good chiropractor? I have one at home and one in Maine that are both very good. You probably know someone that uses one or that could recommend one.
Marlene, So glad to see you again, I have missed your videos ! I love your hair cut, I wish my Mom would have done a cut so stylish and easy to take care of. Blue bird, flag, fox, hive. Maybe I'll win something this time .Your different lights were great, I need to get one I can travel with. Gotta go, planting before it rains. Blessings Claudia
Love your tool box….❤ your finish and that frame is perfect for it. Been missing you, wondered where you have been. I think a travel theme to see would be great. We bought a motor home and are going to start traveling and I would love ideas. I have that one rechargeable light you have, my only complaint is it only holds a charge about 2 hours. Did u find that?
I think about 3-4 hours is what I got. But that Halo Bolt will keep it going for another 3-4 and the bigger Bolt even longer. It’s worth it when you’re at a retreat with no plug ins or camped out in the woods! Blessings, Marlene
It’s so good to see your smiling face today! I hated to hear about all your pain, but I’m so glad you are on the road to stitching again! I loved all the smalls in the toolbox. The flag was flying high above the bluebird that had scissors in her beak! I’m praying for your continued progress!
Mary had a little lamb, scissors, flag, fox, valentine, hive. So glad you and Jerry are doing better. God bless you both with continued good health. ❤ Thank you for sharing.
Embrass the wonky on the punch needle and definately add a broom Your Freedom pieces, are they big enough to make triangle pillows???? I couldn't turn your video on fast enough when I saw it, please don't sabbatical 😅 again 💙🖖
I’m so glad to hear that you are doing better. I will continue to pray for you and your husband. The scissors are next to the valentine. The fox is running around the flag The blue birds are singing by the hive, and Mary had a Little Lamb is playing on the radio.

I am so happy to see you back. Missed you! Sorry you had such a tough time with all that pain, but thankful that a solution was found. Of course all of your pieces are gorgeous. Always like seeing what you have been up to. Love your patriotic stitching! Some day I hope to have some small pillows. Usually am stitching things to give as gifts. Currently 2 Christmas stockings for my 2 grandsons. Thanks so much for sharing your stitching!

I wouldn’t straighten that Halloween stitch, I would reset a side pice or two to make it look wonky on purpose. Frame or pillow , it’s super cute.

Fun video!
Need to
Carve out some time tonight when I have less distractions. Just wanted to say I’m sooo excited and happy to see your face and am ready for a terrific Flosstube! Catch you at the end. Hugs❤
Scissors, bluebird, flag, fox, Valentine, hive. See u in Tulsa. Great video. You were missed. Glad you and your husband are doing better. 😘
I would take the s Christmas drum, add fabric top and bottom and make a regular pillow: scissors, bluebird, hive, flag, valentine n
May I suggest magnets for the basket and washers for the back of the Mounting board ? Then you can always switch out and put the season you’re not using inside the basket.
Oh don’t straighten your punch needle outer Fabric as it goes with the crooked house. I think it looks neat

So glad to see you back. Mary had a little lamb. Scissors Bluebird Flag Fox Valentine Hive Your white hair is absolutely beautiful. Sending lots of hugs and prayers for both of you.
Bluebird, flag,
Put some faux red geraniums in your bag to keep it open! I love that you’re also saving the stitches! So cute! I sure do get the achy feeling you refer to. My achiness is in my knees. There are days I, too, do the stairs one at a time!!!
I am glad you are feeling better.
Enjoyed the video. Happy Stitching!
Like your quilt behind you, Scissors bluebird, flag, fox,Valentines, and hives. Enjoy your stitching.
Thank you for the update. Love the pillows, they turned out so pretty. Sorry about your hip pain, hope it gets better. Scissors, bluebird, flag, fox, valentine.
Hi Marlene
So Great to see a Video from you - Glad that you and Jerry is doing better.
Take Care & Happy Stitching

Hi Marlene! Always nice to see you ♡
For Good Tidings of Joy, how about a long, rectangular pillow.
Thanks for sharing ❤always wonderful to spend time with you - scissors bluebird flag fox hive

Hello Marlene.

My kids won't leave my scissors alone. I should start hiding them in the bee Hive. Wonderful video.
So nice to see you! Glad to hear you and Jerry are doing well. Obviously scissors are essential to our hobby. Take care.
Great seeing you today!! Scissors fox hive
Thanks for coming!
So glad that you and Jerry are getting better ❤
That’s so thoughtful of you Sandra, Thanks for your positive review,How are you and how’s the weather over there?
So nice to have you back and I’m so, so happy you’re feeling better! I think the Merry Christmas will be beautiful in the white box. You can fill it with greenery and Christmas pillows. Have you ever done a flat fold? Vonna Pfeiffer has a great tutorial. They’re cute and are easily stored. The small patriotic pieces can be glued on stars , flags or blocks found at hobby lobby or Michaels. Have fun finishing!
I’m new to your channel because of Carol Saltbox-so far ❤️-but imo don’t resew your punch needle-it may be a little crooked but it’s lovely 😀
So glad you’re feeling better and, while maybe not stitching much, you’re still in the game. Thank you for the kind shout out. Pam
Mary had a little lamb. Bluebird. Fox. Valentine. Hive.
So glad you are back and getting healthy
How about making a project bag using the "wonky" punch needle. I think that would be really special. sm
Love that idea!

So glad to see you again Marlene! We all need a season of rest sometimes, thankfully God carried you through, and continues as you improve.
