I don't comment often but just wanted to say I am watching every one of your videos of the CDT! Followed your ACT hike videos a few years ago. Love the nature, scenery & unique locations and towns. Great job vlogging it for us all to enjoy, I really appreciate it as I can't get out as much as I'd like to with a toddler at home. And of course, great job on the hike so far!

Realizing your distance traveled; when you mentioned reaching Idaho. Seeing the ice on the ground; took me to: How does a traveler survive this during a blizzard / winter conditions. This hike is showing me what endurance would be *best / essential,* in-order to complete this CDT trail. {I recall crossing over the 10,000 (approx.) mark, in a struggling, (felt like), vehicle, several times, cannot imagine on foot}.

  • @ciscoponch67

The reason for western Florida's talcum powder, not hot sand is from the quartz crystal of the Georgia Applachians. The crystal washes out to the Gulf of Mexico and washed up onto Florida beaches from storms. Then the crystal grinds the sand into talcum powder style. 😊

I hope that when you say we did 12 miles and have 16 or whatever to go that this is a personal goal because if its some one elses idea than its not good. If you are doing it that way because you need to be bsck at work or some other place than its not worth it. I would like to do the apalackian trail before o get too old but i am no going to let a job or some other life event distracción me from the trail nor will i walk at other peoples pace.
