one tip, you must set the switch on the side of the film mag. BEFORE winding on, as otherwise the mag. uses the wrong scale, ie: 220 instead of 120 ( 24 exp. not 12 exp.), don't think this can be changed afterwards, would loose film synchronisation ( with the start mark on the film).
nice video; for those not watching closely, he used the dark-slide to remove the film magazine, he just squeezed it into the mag. housing. IMPORTANT!! : YOU MUST have a dark-slide to remove this mag. from the camera, otherwise, you must do it like on the Mamiya 645 cameras, ie: use the film door on the magazine, with it STILL ON the camera!
i have a question about winding the film. When shot the first photo and I'm advancing the film, the film counter doesn't move to frame 2... it does advance but stops inbetween frame 1 and 2... is the film just build like that or is something broken?
Hi, I have a S2A, it is working fine except when I insert the darkslide fully, the film back is not released, I will need to wiggle the darkslide a bit to feels some resistance. Then only, the last bit which release the cache can be engaged by the darkslide. Any idea what could have happened that caused the darkslide to miss the cache?
I think the arc of the slide (it is crescent shaped), pushes a small pin to do the back release, so as the slide wears, ie gets shorter, it may miss the pin, also if the sides of the slide, or the frame seals (part of the track it uses on the way in), it can cock sideways, missing the pin also. Bronica ETR, GS and SQ have a separate notch on the slide handle, their mags have a separate area which deals with this interlock, Not combined, as in these early versions (ec, s2a).
@@andyvan5692 thanks, but pin is fine. Been using it for a long time with the issue and gotten used to it. ua-cam.com/video/xUkh7-tBD3E/v-deo.htmlsi=vFrVUn4g0BV5Vqb1
one other thing, if you pass 12 on the frame counter with 220 film in the back YOU CAN'T set the film back to 220, aka the shutter wind has been DE-CLUTCHED! , so all that happens is the film will 'wind-off' { can't stop it now, has gone past the point of no return- until a new film goes in, that is}. SO do the counter change before 12!!, OR better yet right after the film goes in :))
Gawd I love my S2A!
