I remember when this camera came out originally and there was a famous photographer named Alex Majoli that worked for Magnum and he specialized in conflict photography. He used the C-5050 for his work as well as the C-5060 and C-8080, mostly black and white. In fact, he carried two of them because the buffer filled up quickly so he would switch off to the second camera so he wouldn't miss a shot. It was amazing the types of images he was able to get from this camera. Nice snag on your part and some great images!
I bought a C5050 back in 2003 and used it for two years. It was a really great camera and even now looking at the pictures I took with that camera they still look very good.

What I am looking for in these cameras is the opposite of what I can get with my Sony A7 II or even my Oppo Find X5 smartphone. With digicams I want to explore "other realities", I want images that are not so perfect, that have that "magic" of the own interpretation of the technology of those times. I have seen several models that I like, but there are so many that it is hard to decide. Olympus C-5050 looks very good, but maybe I'm more interested in a smaller model. Some models I have seen are the C-50 Zoom, C-740 Ultra Zoom, C-70 Zoom, C-450 zoom...do you think these options are interesting? with these models can I get similar results to the C-5050? And finally, do you advise me any other model even above the ones I have named? Thanks a lot for the tips 😌🙏.

how to change manually focus so its not on the center and not scaled by up and down with inchs/centimeter? i have only once found that option in My mode by accident and i was able to move cursor and focus wherever, but later i couldn't find it nowhere? do you maybe know by any chance? p.s the images are really beautiful and u have awesome sense for composition👌ive never taken mine outside because its not working well, it works only on cable so i use it only at home :(

This camera is amazing! Wonderful colors! The lens is so good and fast. For today very slow and quirky, but it's for fun, so it doesn't matter 🙃 good job! 👍
This camera and its siblings can churn out amazing images in good light! I chose this over the 5060 because of the faster lens and it uses AA batteries which is super convenient. That battery door is super hard to close though which I assume why you have that rubber band 😁
"it uses AA batteries" - This is the main reason I'm going to buy this model. Unique rechargeable batteries are a royal pain... With all the high end digitals that I own, if I wish to go retro simple (low megapixel CCD) who cares about the slightly LATER models. '- AA' batteries ROCK !

Co-incidentally, today I have purchased a C-50 Zoom which is why I finished up looking at your channel and subscribing. So I think that my plan will be to use both cameras stogether and to see which results I like the best. I have enjoyed the content and love your shots.

Yes! Actually some famous professional photographers still keep this vintage camera in their collections.

I got mine out yesterday, and it still works well. Got the manual, too, so I can figure out all the modes and stuff. Mine is a C5050 Zoom.

where were you able to buy xd-picture cards and compact flash cards? they have seemed to be discounted and or hard to find
Try eBay!?they are pricey so just look out for good deals. I got mine in camera though. Just fortunate I guess. 🤷♂️ good luck!!
When you expose for the sky, are you just half pressing the Shutter button before you drop/re compose?

I only use the XD card and I actually use a cable from the camera to the phone!
