  • Here is a video of me doing a demo with my Warmoth tele through a Randall Titan being boosted with a MXR distortion 3 and an Ampeg VH-140C.
    You may have to turn up the volume on your computer. I had to adjust the camera's mic to keep it from clipping out.
    My Tele is a warmoth build and it has Lace Drop n Gains in the bridge and neck pickup positions.

    I still think that guitar is the gnarliest fucking thing ever. Wish I had a hardtail strat with a V neck on it. So fucking cool.

    Both of those amps have killer tone man, sounds monstrous!! What do you think of your Drop n Gains? I'm debating between that or a deathbucker set...both seem to sound awesome so it's very hard to make up my mind

    • @oldmangrissel
      @oldmangrissel  8 років тому

      +rascal1717 I love my drop n gains, but I've never heard the death bucker set in person. I'm sure either will do a fantastic job!

  • @oldmangrissel
    @oldmangrissel  10 років тому +1

    Thanks! The whole guitar is a warmoth build. They make great stuff and very inexpensive compared to buying one spec'd out the way you want. Unfortunately, they don't offer the flying V headstock anymore but they still have killer necks that would work with your partscaster!

    Bout to pick up the TITAN. I currently own the rh200 g2 series and love it. its plenty loud with bass and i play lots of down tune stuff. stoner doom sludge death metal and punk. I want to play into 2 amps. Would another randall be a good pick..the TITAN?

      Ooop. Just scrolled down a bit and answered my own question. Or rather, you did, but I read it.
      Regardless, your tone is fantastic. This rig is hellacious, bodacious, and just all-around killer.

      @@naughtscribe thanks man! Yeah, I had that cab for close to 20 years, and ended up selling it. Now I have sellers remorse😂😂😂

      Ooof. I feel ya. I've owned three of the black-coned 4x12's over the years and always ended up selling them. I still remember them fondly as well.

    Hey Dude I am back to your video because the sound is KILLER! (LOL) When you play with just your Ampeg around 1:18 what do you have the Gain on? Hey did you just sell your RG100ES a few days ago on E-Bay? The one that sold Looks exactly like yours in the video? By the way do you still have your Ampeg? If so are you interested in selling it? PLEASE Let me know..Thanks Dude & take it easy! \m/

    • @oldmangrissel
      @oldmangrissel  10 років тому

      Hey man, good eye! Yeah, that was one of my Randalls that sold on eBay the other day. I had the gain on the ampeg cranked all the way up for this video. The Randalls seem to be a little more common on eBay than the ampegs in case I ever need to grab another. I'll prolly keep my ampegs forever!...sorry man..lol
      I just got a new interface and when I get time, I plan to do a better quality vid of some of my amps.
      Thanks for checking it out again!!

      oldmangrissel Hey Dude hows it going? Well I got VERY LUCKY & FINALLY found myself a AMPEG VH140C!!!!!!!!!! Same exact "Older" style Head as yours & I LOVE IT! I have a few Randall RG100ES Heads which I love & think they sound great & all but MAN THIS VH140C IS *F-ING* KILLER DUDE! No shit this is DEFINITELY THE BEST SS HEAD THERE IS FOR SURE w/o a doubt! (& IT IS MEGA L-O-U-D!!! ON 3 IT'S KILLER! ADD IN SOME CHORUS W/THE DISTORTION & O.M.G I AM IN M-E-T-A-L HEAVEN!) Anyway Thanks again for the video Buddy. Take it easy & LONG LIVE THE M-E-T-A-L! \m/

      Axe Shredder Good for you Dude...guess I'm really fucked up with this desire in Hungary :D. I'm a tube man, I prefer tube amps, but when it comes to death metal and/or the sound of Morrisound studios, Scott Burns for instance, the 140c, the Titan, some other solid state Ampegs and Crates just simply RULE.

    • @Nofarewell
      @Nofarewell 8 років тому

      +Axe Shredder Gonna get my Titan in a few days! I changed my Crate St100 to it, but don't really feel regret. I'll get another Stealth one day, but a Titan shows up in every 4 years here. STOKED!

    What cab are you using? Looks like a bass cab.

    • @oldmangrissel
      @oldmangrissel  3 роки тому +1

      The one with red speakers is a Jackson guitar cab, and the other is an acoustic control 6x10” guitar cab. It looks like a bass cab, but is voiced for guitar.
