The man who was my Sabbath School teacher for the Young Adult class at Ephesus SDA Church in New Orleans, LA the Creole capital of the Southern States of America is now President of one of the largest African American Adventist Colleges in the Americas. Lord Jesus, we thank You for answered prayer that between Oakwood Academy, Oakwood University Music Department and the Musical Ministry Departments of the area Adventist Churches in North Alabama to have enough talented students and church members for their own orchestra.
Lord Jesus what you have done for the Oakwood University Aeolians Gospel Choir in earning the title of the best choir in the world, please do for the Oakwood University orchestra.
Sister White's prayer was that young people and students would work their way through school, and Oakwood University has answered that prayer the their C.A.R.E. Program.
Totally in praise to God for this wonderful talent. HELP! After they sing "The Lord is My Light" arranged by Horatio W. Parker, they go into a more contemporary setting of the same text at around the 1 hour 11 minute mark. The description on the screen is still labeled as being arranged by Horatio W. Parker, which I find odd. Who is the arranger/composer of this outstanding anthem? Kudos especially to the wonderful, talented pianist! And singers....y'all were just fantastic as you delivered this message of hope and courage.
The voices are in a league of their own---and those strings---pray, church. 😅 I'm laughing a little, but seriously, some of those strings were tuned a full quarter step off, almost as if by spite!
The contrast between the musicians and the singers definitely didn’t help hide the fact that the musicians were well below acceptable smh they really should’ve picked something simpler for them to play🤦🏿♂️
