  • Verbolten is a multi-launched Zierer coaster that opened in 2012 and features a vertical free-fall drop track segment at the conclusion of its indoor show building. Said show building features 3 possible shows: Storm (this one), Siren (the spirit of the forest lures us to our doom), and Wolves (as an homage to the Big Bad Wolf coaster that formerly occupied the same area).
Speaking of Big Bad Wolf, Verbolten finishes with a large swooping drop and turn along the Rhine River just as Big Bad Wolf did. I unfortunately never got the chance to experience BBW (it was closed on my only visit pre-2012), but I have to imagine that drop was so much cooler in swinging suspended cars. Nothing against Verbolten--it's a fine ride--but I so very much wish I could have gotten to ride Big Bad Wolf.
Verbolten is located at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, located in historic Williamsburg, Virginia.
I had the opportunity to visit Busch Gardens Williamsburg over Memorial Day Weekend 2022, largely to enjoy their Food & Wine festival.
