Solid review as always. That said. I will never purchase from OnePlus again. Had the 9pro for about 5 months and had nothing but issues. Randomly losing cell service for hours while at home. Tried new sim cards, factory resets, nothing worked. Opening the camera and it's just a black screen. The customer service is horrible. The only option they gave me after months of interacting with them and multiple factory resets, was to send the phone in for repair. But they didn't have any loaner phones available, so I would've been without a phone for multiple weeks. Probably would have been doable, except my wife had the same phone with the exact same issues. We've since gotten rid of the 9pro's and are back with Samsung. No connectivity issues, no camera issues, etc.
Loved my 7pro 5g but had SO MANY issues, atrocious inconsistent battery life, battery wore out quickly, screen burn in from the green fingerprint sensor, got ONE update to android 10 then nothing, absolutely no customer service either.

I consistently get 7 to 8 hours of screen on time on my OnePlus 10 Pro. In some days I even reached 9 hour of screen on time with 120Hz active and 1440p (adaptive). OnePlus have released two updates that fixed the exposure issues with the camera. OnePlus 10 Pro takes pictures that are comparable to the iPhone ones. Pixel phones are really buggy on the software side and considerably slower and less reliable. In Europe, where I am from, Samsungs are shipped with Exynos SOCs so they are less power efficient and slower in terms of processing speed. Also Samsung's screens this year are inferior in terms of PPI and power efficiency because they are not equipped with the latest display technology LTPO2. In the UK it is not priced to compete with the S22U, it is in fact just a bit more than the S22, and £150 cheaper than the S22+. So, I am not expecting it to beat out the Ultra as that would be unfair, the One+ 10 Ultra will try and do that in a couple of months. It is also £150 cheaper than the Pixel 6 Pro and if you add in the included case, and charger it is even better value. So if you look at it from a price to spec comparison I feel it does really well against the similarity priced S22. It has higher resolution, better LTPO (S22 only drops to 48Hz), much bigger battery, better thermals, same RAM and ROM, and same camera array. So if you are sensible and look at the OP10P compared to its direct competitors then it represents good value and maybe the best choice in that £800 price range ATM. Obviously for the niche buyers looking for the best cameras then they would buy the Ultra versions of all the OEMs that will be coming soon (Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Magic 4 Pro Ultimate, OPPO Find X5 Pro+, OP10P Ultra or S22U). I do understand that due to an anti-competitive market in the US, they will not see these phones and the OP10P is priced higher in the US due to political and economic reasons, but the rest of the world exists and out there the OP10P does really well.

Dam. Reading the comments, lots of people have moved on. I bought the OnePlus 3, 3t, & 6. Had the 6 about four years before I upgraded. OnePlus devices are just not the same and are moving further way from what the fans have wanted with every single new iteration. I bought the Galaxy S22. Their software as opposed to OnePlus, has been moving in the right direction for a while now. I recommend it to any OnePlus fans who have grown tired of the BS.
I bought one, and it's supposed to be a "flagship phone". Yet, coming from my 4 year old Huawei Mate 20 Pro most of the experience feels like a step down. I'm a heavy user, I edit photo's and video's on the go, and the OnePlus is even slower at keeping up. The only thing I can say is better is the screen. The global user experience (which most reviewers don't talk about) is just not as good. There are some annoying bugs like the notification badges (numbers) not working and such, which will hopefully be fix with an update. But mostly, I am missing so many daily basic inbuilt options my 4 year old device had, and this one just falls short. The basic pictures and video editing options are not useful at all, you'll need to use 3d party apps for basic edits. Even the camera's are underwhelming compared to my old device. Just the basic daily user experience falls short in many ways. I'm still using my Mate 20 pro, hoping a lot will be fixed and added with an update. I feel a 4 year gap between flagships, of whatever brand, should be a jump forward and not backwards. So OnePlus, nope, sorry, you're not doing it for me (yet).
I feel like if they replaced the code with a fingerprint or face ID then it would be reasonable for the hidden apps to have that extra protection. Simple pinching action that was used to previously unlock them was too easy to simply figure out about that function and then test it on someone else's device to see what apps they have hidden.
Well you do have app lock which can use both biometrics as well as passcode. So better to just hide the apps and add a lock on them. That will do the job and also make it a bit extra secure.
You were complaining about that the face unlocks your phone but you try to unlock with the fingerprint still. Why don't you just have that the phone opens immediately its so much better
I disagree what he said about the face unlock, you can set that the phone will open up after face unlock instead of staying on the home screen. I have it on my 9 pro like this, I am sure the 10 pro also has this.
I'm not sure why you mentioned the lack of customisation on the launcher as an issue? Everyone on your channel is familiar with Nova launcher. Why did you pretend like this is a major problem?
When using Nova launcher(or normal 3rd party launcher), app-openning/closing animations are become more choppy and cheap.😭(since Android10~) Thats why customisation of a stock launcher is VERY important for the user experience! It's actually major problem.🥺
Beautyful video, great review!❤ 8:40 I have also experienced these "Weird lockscreen-notification behavior" on a MIUI(Xiaomi MIX2S) back when it was Android 9. There was no functioning option at the time for me either. It might not be a bug related to Android 12...? Maybe simply a behavior that is welcomed in China.😢
Camera and fluidity are the most critical issues to me. I love everything about that phone but the camera is a no go to me. Hope they release an Ultra version with better camera.

Went from the OnePlus 8 pro to the s22 ultra. Took me one day to realize I shouldn't have left OnePlus. Returning the s22 ultra for the OnePlus 10 pro today. Here was what I didn't like with the s22 ultra: battery, charging speeds, unnecessary apps you can't uninstall, signal, call quality and believe it or not, camera. I like the OnePlus 8 pros camera better than the s22 ultras camera so I'm hoping the 10 pro is an upgrade from the 8 pro. Oh and the s22 ultra was majorly slower than my OnePlus 8 pro. I noticed this right out of the box when installing all my usual apps. Easily took 3 times as long to install my apps compared to my 3 year old OnePlus. Some people say Samsung feels slower because of the animations/transitions by that shouldn't cause apps to take longer to install. That said, unless you've gotta have an s-pen, I wouldn't go the s22 ultra route. My 2 cents.
If you don't root the phone, you can indeed change the launcher but you won't have those nice animations and transitions between the launcher, apps themselves and the recent apps panel. With root, you can use a magisk module called Quickswitch which enables having all the buttery animations with the launcher of your choice
As far as I know it's not a bug regarding notifications. Chinese phones all have it. My P30 Pro has the same behavior. I guess that's how Chinese people want their phone to perform

I'm already rocking the 4 xl but I'm just waiting to get a cheaper used 13 mini. 👊
@@thetechrealist Bro I got a mint Product Red one on Swappa for $650 only 2 months old when I bought it with a Spigen case. Keep an eye out on Swappa 👍
@@mmorales508 thanks 👍
It was so worth waiting for your review, you nailed every aspect, just like you did with the splendid B-rolls.
P.S Am I the only one that thinks that scomo's facial expression in the shot sums up the state of their Launcher 😅
The intro is freaking cool !!
Sam: "This phone, is just beautifully designed".
Me (Watching video: Looks like a rectangle, like all other phones. But, wait, is that another rectangle inside of the big rectangle? And, are there 4 little circles that look like floor guards for furniture inside the second rectangle? Nah, still don't see it.... just looks like another rectangle.
What icon pack are you using. The tiny icons look fantastic.
The task manager look like the pixel on oxygen os or You using a different launcher ?
Another Great review I love your video thank you!
I recommend it to any OnePlus fans who have grown tired of the BS.
how did u get that stockish recents menu on oos12?? u installed custom rom?
Why do you prefer Lawnchair 12 over Nova 7?
Solid review mate, though i need to ask. What happened to the hyperboost feature?
Only thing really underwhelming is the camera...to be honest...... everything else on the phone is great
100% agree with your take on how to fix the software
I feel like if they replaced the code with a fingerprint or face ID then it would be reasonable for the hidden apps to have that extra protection. Simple pinching action that was used to previously unlock them was too easy to simply figure out about that function and then test it on someone else's device to see what apps they have hidden.
Well you do have app lock which can use both biometrics as well as passcode. So better to just hide the apps and add a lock on them. That will do the job and also make it a bit extra secure.
the only you tuber review whose videos i don't fast forward.
Always nice to see with more content, man 🙌
Something about this guy's videos its just satisfying to watch 💯❤️👌🤟
Looks wont remain for long time, @Oneplus should concentrate in Support as well for Nord Series.
Which launcher you used bro
Not sure why your face unlock is unlocking but then chilling on the lock screen? Mine unlocks the phone and opens up to the home screen right away....
I'm not sure why you mentioned the lack of customisation on the launcher as an issue? Everyone on your channel is familiar with Nova launcher. Why did you pretend like this is a major problem?
When using Nova launcher(or normal 3rd party launcher), app-openning/closing animations are become more choppy and cheap.😭(since Android10~)
Thats why customisation of a stock launcher is VERY important for the user experience!
It's actually major problem.🥺

Beautyful video, great review!❤

I have also experienced these "Weird lockscreen-notification behavior"
on a MIUI(Xiaomi MIX2S) back when it was Android 9.
There was no functioning option at the time for me either.
It might not be a bug related to Android 12...?
Maybe simply a behavior that is welcomed in China.😢
😂😂
THE PRODUCTION 😍😍😍
That's lawnchair, right? What's the font name? it's awesome..
Camera and fluidity are the most critical issues to me. I love everything about that phone but the camera is a no go to me. Hope they release an Ultra version with better camera.
Does this phone support wifi calling on Telstra?
£649 for Amazon prime day. Worth it??
"Sam amazing video bro
You have just enhanced the beauty of this smartphone by film this 'bad boy with that much of professionalism and deserve lots of appreciation
keep it up👍🏻
They r now desperately launching new phones in lower price bracket in India, like one plus nord 2, nord 2 T, Nord ce 5g, nord ce lite 5g and upcoming nord 3.
Honestly they have about 10 different phones on the go and most of them are just reskinned oppo devices
how many times I have taken a phone call to my ear only for my ear to push all kinds of buttons and loose the call or dial someone else by accident. Its a hot mess sadly. How does a phone blow being a phone , just ask One Plus. Other than that I love the phone , the camera and some of the Texting perks. I also use it with the New HYUNDAI Santa Cruz and it works flawlessly.
I do have the same issue with notifications on my Oppo find X2
I am actually 3rd in a Sam Beckman video! Keep up the content
One Plus 7 Pro user here, had the 5, 5t & 6t previously.
May upgrade to the S22 Ultra when I'm due.
Go with iPhone 14, s22 ultra is not a worthy upgrade...
@@man2539 not sure if I can go to Apple. I love being able to customise my phone to how I like it. Android allows me to customise with so many options. I also like the iPhone UI but I just don't think it's for me.
My 2 cents.
@@xfiringsquadx thanks for your input, it seriously changed my view on getting the S22 ultra now
Why root the phone just to change the launcher?
If you don't root the phone, you can indeed change the launcher but you won't have those nice animations and transitions between the launcher, apps themselves and the recent apps panel. With root, you can use a magisk module called Quickswitch which enables having all the buttery animations with the launcher of your choice
Everything this person said is bang on ☝🏻
I thought I was the only one annoyed by the face unlock and disabled fingerprint sensor! Asus Zenfone 8 did not do this
I own a oneplus 10 pro nd it's amazingggg!!!!!
As far as I know it's not a bug regarding notifications. Chinese phones all have it. My P30 Pro has the same behavior. I guess that's how Chinese people want their phone to perform
The new intro is OP
I use Microsoft launcher and my notifications don't disappear like yours do after unlocking. So I reckon it's the launcher you are using
From were you wallpaper sir
i'm not gonna lie ... i love the new oxygenOS. it still has issues but it's being taken care off
I don't see your point concerning the face unlock.. why don't you enable 'Enter homescreen after unlocking' so that the phone automatically unlocks as soon as your face has been recognized??
Because I like being able to see the clock and notifications on my lockscreen quite regularly. With the enter homescreen after unlocking setting enabled, I rarely get to see either.
@@sambeckman so you want to be able to unlock an unlocked phone with a finger print ID? Just swipe up, man. Or keep the face ID off. Why create bad press and spread misinformation as if it's some glitch!
@@financeashish nah he wants to see the notification on the lock screen but they disappear..
I have a question, I have a OP 8T and didn't like oxygen os 12, so I thought of unlocking the bootloader and using paranoid android. But now I'm worried that my bank of America app and other bank apps won't work because of the unlocked bootloader. Is there a way to fix that or should I not update?
I think it would be better if you don’t update I updated my op 8 pro and had to down grade back to android 11 because of how horrible it was.
Maybe you could use the website versions instead with your browser of choice.
And choose to bookmark the sites and save the passwords so you don't have to login every time.
Other than that idk, never unlocked the bootloader on my phone
Why not mention that it charges 0 to 100 in 30 minutes?
That's why I use nova launcher instead of stock launcher on op and any phone.
Yep. Nova is a really great launcher. Especially for the lower end devices.
I'm still waiting for your OnePlus 10t review
OnePlus 5T user is here, almost 5 years going. now I miss the older version of OnePlus :)
Wallpaper? please?🥺
Can you please review S22 plus Sam? Thank you!
Have you tried GCam on this phone? I'm still on a op5 and thinking of picking up a op9pro. Thoughts?
I tried, couldn't find any that worked unfortunately.
@@sambeckman That's too bad. Did OnePlus patch back access to the camera back into the 9 Pro, so it can use GCam?
What about there camera manual mode?
how to change recent apps menu like you on oneplus 9 pro
Awesome video bro 👍🏼
You. Deserve. More. Subscribers.

The background music is annoying with my hearing aid. Can't hear your voice over the music.
Hi ! I have a question i hope you can help me with. Why on oneplus 10 pro i dont have Smart Content Detection in camera settings? On my old oneplus 7 i have and i always use that to get things direct from the view finder.... so bummer :((( i might give it back. Is there such thing and i dont see it? Please help me !
Do you mean the AI mode?
Bro u just need to go to settings and turn on the option for " not staying on lockscreen after face unlock". Thereby u don't have to stand there wondering why is my phone not unlocking 🤦
one plus 10 has so many bugs especially with the signal, for some reason it works for the first 2 minutes of the call then it start to cut off and stop working. the one plus 10 pro sucks do not get it
Oneplus doesn't sell it's nord series of phones in your region?
Only select regions, they simply wouldn't sell enough in Australia for it to be worth it
Sam, Great intro to the video.... 70s, Sleek and Sexy ! Great video as always mate..
I'm *rooting* for OnePlus
please share those wallpapers
