I concur with Timberwolf and others in the comments. Now would be a great time to go back and check out Black Holes. If Pau, who is the primary lyricist blew your mind with QOTMC which she wrote at 15, wait until you hear this jewel of a song she wrote at 13. In my opinion the deepest lyrics they have written to date. No spoilers other than suggesting you have a box of tissues handy for that song. There is a long list of grown men and women who have cried their eyes out to this song. Also, don’t be fooled by Pau’s huge smile at the start of the song, she is smiling because it was one if not the first time she was hearing the whole venue singing her song.

Shocking, right? This album, with or without recognition, is one of the best in the history of rock, a real gem, made by some teenagers at that time and now all ladies with a great future in music. The sky is the limit for The Warning and the world its stage.

Nice! The queen’s dying statement. She regrets nothing. The lyric “start over again” refers back to Dust to Dust.

  • @sparky65416
    @sparky65416 3 роки тому +23

The Queen lies dying in The End and these are her last thoughts. She regrets nothing because she still feels that she did it all for love (Sinister Smiles ends with the evil side repeatedly screaming “I have done no wrong”). Interestingly, Paulina sings both the first and this last song, making a cycle where Dust To Dust includes the line “In the end everything just turns back into dust to dust”. The final lines of The End are “start again” and Dust To Dust says “and we shall start again”. They actually didn’t plan it that way from the beginning but liked the way it worked out.
Got a little teary-eyed there; we all do every damn time. Might want this one played at my wake. Thank you for the review of the album in order. You are one of the few reactors that have been spot on with your analysis of the meanings of the songs. Thank you for paying attention to these young ladies' magnificent songwriting. I tip my Kevlar to you, my friend.

When they released the album... they released D2D first and then the chapters one by one, three songs in each chapter with an interval of 10-14 days in between. We had to wait that time between the songs.,The last chapter was released in the morning on the day of this concert Nov 25, 2018. The time stood still for many when they heard this song for the first time and I tell you, many can tell exactly were they were and what they did when they heard this final song for the first time.... kudos to you for taken the journey with us, see the vlogs about the album as recommended... there they sit and laugh and giggle explaining the story. Amazing

The Warning is like no other band and their genius just brings about so many emotions to the surface as one dives deep into their music. Hey HxC, Love your reaction to this album. Thankfully there's more Warning to listen to. If you're going to check out their other covers, you have to start with their Metallica cover "Atlas, Rise!" and be sure it's bthe version from their basement studio, The Warning Cave. It was done 3 years after the Sandman cover right before they released their first album, XXI Century Blood.
Speak of XXI Century Blood, I'm sure you'll be doing reactions to that. My suggestion, the first track which is the title track, XXI Century Blood, has an official video. I say start with that they, then the rest of the album, use the live performances from their show at The Dakota Bar in 2018. That a great show. This was before they recorded Murder Scene. This show they perform all of XXI Century and a couple of songs from their debut EP, Escape The Mind.
I'm sure the army has mentioned you should react to their first Spanish song, Narcissists. They wrote that in response to people giving them crap about all their material being in English even through they're born and raised in Mexico and Spanish being their first language. People saying they were traitors for trying to be white. They gave a great response to that with this song. When you do a reaction to that song, use the video of them performing it live at Foro Did when they first premiered the song. The best video to use for that is the one with the English subtitles.
That is for the great reactions, looking forward for more.
P.S. just so you know, The Warning Army and all the other viewers really won't mind more than one Warning reaction a day....just so you'll know 😉🎵🤘

You are not the first grown man to be reduced to tears over these amazing sisters. Their songwriting and maturity is FAR beyond their years!
People will look back at this album in years to come and rank it with the top concept albums. It touches the same level as classics like The Wall, Operation Mindcrime, Tommy, etc. in my book!
If you haven't reacted to it yet, the entire first album "XXI Century Blood" is also a masterpiece. I think it's the best debut rock album since Appetite for Destruction. If you want to be reduced to tears again, watch "Blackholes" a song about addiction: ua-cam.com/video/lM8KeQ_tNQc/v-deo.html

Awesome reaction to this album! Now for the final twist: The final lines of this song are "Start again!" Well, if you actually follow their advice and start the album over again with Dust to Dust, part of the opening verse says "In THE END everything just turns back, turns back into Dust to Dust..." It turns out that Dust to Dust is actually sung by the ghost of the Queen, after she dies in The End. So although Dust to Dust is the prologue, it's a cycle that keeps looping back over and over again as the Queen tells her tragic story to the audience. Man I love this album!

They did a really cool cover of The Pretender by Foo Fighters which comes with a really cool video too. They were really young there, but of course they nail it!
Also Survive, Copper Bullets and Black Holes are amazing songs from their first album waiting for you to react to them. You'll see they also went deep on their first album, with lyrics about battling adiction and domestic abuse.

Probably my favourite song of the whole album as is a brilliant finish to the story that also leads back in to dust to dust. One of my treasured possessions are the lyrics to this song handwritten by Pau and signed by the whole band. Loved watching your journey. They have an incredible ability to write songs that deal with very difficult subjects but seem to just capture it perfectly. As Pau has often said she doesn't know how to write a fluffy love song. I look forward to you exploring more of the back catalogue.

This has been an amazing journey with you through QOTMS. I just discovered your channel and decided to jump on the roller coaster with you. I’ve seen all these videos multiple times but it felt different watching them back to back with your comments and reactions. I too got choked up during this song. We shouldn’t feel bad for the Queen but I guess we kind of did. It is an unmatched story and it is hard to fathom that Pau wrote this when she was 15 or maybe even younger. The music is great, the lyrics are great, the girls tell the story like master storytellers. There is just nothing that can touch this conceptually. Every other concept album I know of broke up the band after that album. This was so good that it actually propelled them into stardom. Each song is so good on it’s own, but listened to in order takes on so much more meaning. Much love to you @Highly Combustible Reacts for supporting our girls, The Warning.

I'm sorry for your loss in the past year. Not to be masochistic, but if this song gets to you, you should try out another song, also featuring Pau (this time she's on keyboards) titled "Black Holes" here: ua-cam.com/video/lM8KeQ_tNQc/v-deo.html. Despite the heaviness of the lyrics, Pau still beams happily when she realizes that the audience has started to sing along with her. This song was performed live that same year in January. The song is an older one but it is still one of my favorite songs of The Warning and this version is by far the best you will hear. Please check out Shattered Heart: ua-cam.com/video/QgaUuSoSxOw/v-deo.html

I think you watch Homefree but if you love them you NEED to watch Pentatonix. They are the best of the best- three grammy's and billions of views on UA-cam. They have revolutionized a cappella. I recommend starting with The Sound of Silence, Amazing Grace or Bohemian Rhapsody!

Paulina é uma escritora natural. Além de tocar muito, sabe criar estória. Juntar elementos, com uma visão psicosocial do mundo. Veja "black Holes" e você entenderá. Puro talento e paixão pela arte.

As incredible as all three of these young ladies are in their singing and playing, in my opinion those talents pale in comparison to their song writing and story telling abilities. There are many that are very talented singers and/or musicians, but think about what these girls have done. They have created an album that engages your mind and your emotions from beginning to end. How many truly great concept albums are there in the HISTORY of rock that can do that? A handful? Because of that, in my opinion it is not an exaggeration to call this one of the greatest rock albums ever written. And it was written by three young teenagers! If there was such a thing as a musical IQ theirs would be off the chart!!

well atleast now you can listen to the whole album and can get to other great songs like Survive Unmendable and seen you got Black Holes i just have to watch it yet lol But love how Pau started and finished the album. Their harmonies in this song.. and all songs are great show of their creative process and understanding of music. This would make a great movie done in the same way Pink Floyd The Wall was made. BUT i will give you 2 videos to add to your TW list from 2015 at their school they were 10, 13 and 15.. their covers of Foo Fighters: Everlong Pau show how good she is with this very technical drum ua-cam.com/video/yv8w2cjTYaU/v-deo.html and also Muse: Hysteria really shows Ales talent ua-cam.com/video/fU26wmlF3yg/v-deo.html you should enjoy seeing these 2

And now we come to the end of the journey. What a way to end it. After the increasing heaviness and dissonance of the second half of the album, there is a bit of peace in this ballad. One of the most beautiful songs The Warning has done. There are some interesting covers of it. Dany's guitar solo, short as it is, is classic Dany: musical rather than shredding, practically a fourth voice. The acoustic version of this is ironically probably the least favorite of the four-song set they did, because of course Dany can't do that solo on an acoustic guitar. One might think that a ballad would be easier to cover with acoustic instruments than Red Hands Never Fade, Sinister Smiles, and Hunter, but it's not.
I've generally advocated that reactors learn something about a song before reviewing it, to have some context. However, what you've done is different and *completely* appropriate: you elected to follow the album as a whole, chronicling your voyage through this masterwork. Some reactors listen to the lyrics of one song without understanding that they each build on what has come before; you've paid the respect due each song by having the context of the previous songs.
In the concert itself, they played older songs between each chapter and an encore after this, so there were 18 songs total. The encore, Survive, is completely incongruous in the context of this album (it's a real joyride of a rocker), but it sends everyone home satisfied; remember that this was still a concert, not (just) a non-staged opera performance. There would probably be a riot if they took it out of their set list.
