I much prefer this to the look of the Haslab. Hopefully the upcoming PX-C02 Kadmos reissue will come whit the upgraded parts already installed. That reissue likely means you have a good shot of getting the replacement skirts as well but likely sometime after Chinese new year which is rapidly approaching.

Great review as always! I'm crossing my fingers and toes star saber will indeed get a reissue, and will have the upgraded parts. I was waiting on hearing 100% sure he was gonna be reissued before i put in an order for victory leo. I never heard, so ended up getting him anyway.

I spent so long trying to get Kadmos' feet to tab in for the combine mode before I watched this video and saw the flip-out pegs on Nemeios. One of mine was molded wrong and I basically had to carve the part to pieces to get it out. Still way more stable a connection now though lol

I actually got my copy yesterday (from TCP, love them) and i'm loving this figure! Absolutely appreciated this review for transformation help as the instructions are meh at best. Another solid video TM and i'm sad to hear your Victory Saber QC curse is spreading!

This Planet X Star Saber, while using Alex Milne's design, doesn't feel like an IDW representation, but a proper G1 update. Especially with the Brain of Courage and Victory Leo around

I dunno about this guy. It's definitely a cool looking Victory Leo on his own. The bot mode looks great. Jet mode is kinda okay. But the lion mode, have to admit, is a little bit weird, mostly due to the lion head, which does look like a kirin more than a lion. The lion head is also a bit too big, or maybe the front legs are a bit too short, i cannot tell exactly which one's the reason that makes the proportion seems not too right. And due to to the fact that they didn't even try to hide his handsome robot face really isn't a good move.
And as for the combined Victory Saber mode, people complained about leftover parts. I saw pictures of others trying to put them all on the robot. If that works, I'm all okay with that l, yet, have to say, I'm not a big fan of the combined mode with the huge blocks hanging on the side of the shoulders and the big slippers. If they could ever designed some covers that can shift a little bit, for example, Leo's chest shift towards Saber's shoulders, to create a more combine-ish feel to it, same idea for the slippers and Sabers legs, will definitely look better in my opinion. But considering it that the whole combining thing was an after thought from Planet X, I can accept these flaws.
I love that IDW inspired Star Saber.
The only problem I see with these guys is how to display them, so many options. Nice figures!!!

this set kills that Haslab flop. i was glad not to back that set. these guys are the right size and more tall and slender like how they should be. i thought the Haslab ones were too squat looking

With so much high quality paint and so few (basically zero) hollow parts this toy puts Haslab Victorysaber to shame. I know this set costs $100 more for both characters but at least it LOOKS like $290 worth of toys.

Urghhh another character with a great toy i know nothing of and i couldn't care less about ! Some MP Style Animated or Prime figures would be right up my street , you know from the actual good shows. I tried watching some of the Japanese shows but it's either bad story telling , or bad translation or both . But they were literally nonsense I had no idea what the story was at all

I’m sticking with my Haslab one. I’m not a fan of the overall combined look and seems unnecessary to have. While the figure is nice and looks is great for a video game design look. Im not satisfied with that combination as it’s to much and stupid to look at compared to how streamline the Haslab one is. Plus I can see the joints on this one weakening over time.
I got it a week ago and waited for your transformation steps lol. The figure is stunning but the instructions are trash lol.

Been struggling for a few hours trying to get the mushroom pegs in. Is there a non finger hurting method that I can do? Also only had the figure for a few days.
