Loved this video! I really enjoyed the progression of thinking through the problems of the deck and seeing you fix it to make it get some wins. Good stuff!
Thanks. i do that every once in a while if there tend to be significant changes needed from where I start. Otherwise all the changes are just backloaded in the Deck Updates section at the end of the videos.
During the rg deck...even though you won, use your creatures to convoke because they untap and you get to see if you draw a burn spell or convoke card. I was screaming 😂😂😂😂
my favourite king of misplays (16:39) you untap with otter that untaps all your stuff on battlefield, can do it in your main phase and got extra prower trigger, it's free spell ))
I ran quick study and the red/blue deal 2 damage to a target and draw a card if it’s your 2nd spell in my otter deck. I also basically cut my caverns cause i feel having a red or blue mana to cast spells is more effective. Love the deck list changing mid video, i tend to do that when i brew a new deck and its helpful
32:44 As a veteran prowess abuser, I found a roundabout way of balancing my creature count. Have you considered factoring noncreature spells that either spawn/become creatures into your creature count? It’s why I value cards like Jaya & Otterball Antics. Antics also benefits from cost reduction via Stormcatch Mentor for both its regular & flashback casts.
@@PowrDragn No, I agree. They didn’t make the cut for me either. But I’m suggesting for future reference, it might help to see token generators this way the next time a prowess list feels light on creatures. Stormcatcher’s Talent is a great example. Made the final cut too. None of this is a jab at your deck building btw. Just thought Prowess wasn’t your typical play style, & the tip was probably a new perspective. Then there’d be more room for actual noncreature spells like 3 Steps Ahead. Pairs really well with Mentor, Coruscation & Floodcaller as copy candidates even in more aggressive lists like the final product you cooked here.
My otter deck is a storm deck I have 2 kitsas and a couple of the important otters 3 slickshot show off to cover the air and 2 rals I run 14 creatures and everything else is one mana or two mana instant and sorcery’s 4 slight of hands to cycle through cards
Surprised no one using Bria, 4 mana so better than that 5 mana otter and gives full team extra prowess. Goes great with Floodcaller too for double extra prowess
I've been using an Otter Prowess deck recently and the moment Bria enters the battlefield, it's over. It allows you to trigger prowess twice and makes your creatures unblockable. It's definitely a great card to have.
Burning Sun's Fury. Hasting up Floodcaller while getting 4+prowess triggers power for 3 mana is so good. Also creates semi-realistic T3 wins. Also, the deck can use Slickshot because Floodcaller untaps birds as well.
Yeah, there's a lot of strategy stuff to break down. If you ever want to chat about MTG or get deck help, feel free to hop in my Discord (link in desscription).
Your final list runs very close to mine. A few thoughts though... Slick Shot Showoff interacts with the Floodcaller, and boy howdy does it. When you plot that ahead, and then drop the Floodcaller on opponent EOT, It tends to be game over. I'd take the Slick Shot over Coruscation Mage and Kitsa. Otterball Antics seems to carry more weight than the Talent. You get two otters, and with Stormcatch, often casts for one, sometimes flashes back for two. Ral looks good, but is slow. Consider Tectonic Hazard over Lightning Strike. It can clear a lot of mobs, it gets that goddamned deep-cavern bat and his little pals. Same with a lot of others, including the mirror match. Tectonic Hazard is a solid wagon repair. Speaking of wagon repairs; Bounce! I like the new one, Into the Flood Maw, Rona and the surveil one work too. Buys you a turn against Sheoldred, and it can mess up a lot of tempos early on. You can also pitch the bounce to heavy hand control. And (to state the obvious) it clears the field for a swing. Swap out some mountains for some R/G, and some Islands for some U/G and use that Adventure. We all need more adventure in our lives. Thanks so much for the content and ideas. I subscribed. Dragonzord Power!
This deck worked for me up until platinum. Now I'm losing more than I win. It's time to take these otters out to the glue farm and try a different deck.
How is the land, creature, spell distribution of the deck? Is the part that im struggling when building the deck, that part was missing during the deck description
MTGA will always prioritize tapping the pain lands for 1 colorless, to save you life, which is super annoying and I hope they change it to prioritize the color needs in your hand. So I usually forego playing those lands, or I just play one and I always gotta manually tap it for colored mana.
One thing, why did you use 2 meeting of the minds before your turn? you could have used it on your turn and each cast of the spell would have untapped your minions without using any mana... waste of damage if you ask me :)
Not really interested on two fronts: - Two Damage kill off way more in this meta than one damage. - The deck doesn't want another 3mv creature unless it had some really high impact upside. The hyper aggro version I finished on wants as much efficiency as possible.
I wouldn't want it on two fronts: - Two damage gets rid of so many more creatures in this meta than one damage. - The deck doesn't really want another 3mv creature until it's bringing something REALLY good to the table. The hype aggro version I finished on only really works because of efficiency.
I've always wondered, do Content Creators get like a pile of Gold and Gems? I each content creator I see has an unfathomable amount of Gold on their account XD
If you just do your daily stuff on Arena the gold adds up fast. Once you complete sets you just start getting gems when opening packs. Also, once most creators have what they need, they are managing resources until the next aet. And no, creators don't automatically get gold or gems in Arena. They earn them or buy them like everyone else, outside of special promotional/working situations.

You're welcome to try them, but in the final version those two cards aren't bringing enough to the table fast enough for me.

new to MTG and trying this as my first arena deck!
it's hard to know when to save stuff and use damage card to where but otters are cute :D

Do you have a decklist?
@@xVenomized Not published anywhere. what I have been running tends to change from game to game.
Yayyyy otters!

My mind when he's listing off the cards and their number of copies at the end of the video:
"... and a partridge in a pear tree."
Mine too...every time. :)
Have you considered Bria? Convoke prowess can't be blocked for the team :)
Too slow for what this version is trying to do.
How is the land, creature, spell distribution of the deck?
Is the part that im struggling when building the deck, that part was missing during the deck description
It's all shown at the end of the video.
Do you plan on doing a bunnies deck?

Nah, I'll still do it and just take my lumps. My laziness shall be punished!

What about running Frolicking Familiar//Blow off instead of shock just to up the creature count without eating into the spell slot

The no sleight of hand is weird to me. You want cheap spells to help trigger prowess.
Feel free to find room and get in your list.
why don't you play shore up?
More offense, not defense.
@@PowrDragn What about Water Wings? It turns your 1/1 otter tokens into 5/5 hexproof flying creatures.
This deck was otterly broken
