I have skipped over this video many, many times. Today, I decided to watch it, and, WOW! This is exactly what I am looking for! You've covered some steps and tricks that have perplexed this beginner for several months. Shame on me for not watching sooner! Thank you, Thank you! This is a tremendous help!
I have not seven for years but am getting back into it again a bit and your videos really are helping and are very easy to follow I am so glad I found you.
Laura, I enjoy all of your tutorials, BUT this one is my all time favorite. I have made three of them, and am now making still another. They are so fun and the finished bag is perfect for so many things. Mine is for taking to my sewing class/group. Thank you so much for all your time sharing with us.
Thank you Molly, It is always nice to hear that you have enjoyed the videos and that you are making the bag. If you go to my facebook you could post pictures:)thank you for watching:)
Laura, Thank you for all of your Videos You have a way of showing me how to make things and how," Sew Very Easy" it can be. Thank You for your sweet smile you bring to all of Your videos. I look forward to seeing Your next one. God Bless
This is a great bag. I love all the little finishing details that make the bag look so polished. I think this may be my project for tomorrow. Thanks Laura.
It turned out great. I don't like the fusible interfacing that I had ( a random piece in my stash) but other than that it was fairly easy, especially when you have the pattern in hand and the video to follow. I am really pleased with it. I bought a few more supplies today to do another one. I found some great "Fruit Loops" material with the fruit loops and the toucan on it. I got some bright pink strapping for the handles and will try to get it made up later this week. I used Bosal stabilizer- have you ever used it instead of the Fairfield? Just wondering how they compare. Thanks for all the great tools to make a really fun bag.
Thank you so much for your clear and easy to follow instructions Laura - and the free pattern. I've made this bag a number of times for my daughters and I'm going to make it again. This bag is a really good size without being way too big, and Laura's instructions make it easy to construct.
Oh my goodness.. I have always wanted to make one of these bags!! I have watched so many tutorials about how to do these and I can never catch on!! This is the first time I have watched someone make this and explain it in such detail that I could actually understand how!! I need to thank you so very much and as soon as I get my materials and make one I will post a picture and share with you!! God Bless ❤️❤️❤️
I love this bag - I am in the process of doing adult advent calendars for Christmas 2018 and I have been looking for a tote that I can place the small individually wrapped goodies in but not be so big it could not be used after the holiday. Since this one grows it will be perfect and they will get an extra gift besides. I have 12 to make 6 guys which I am going to add tools, car washing/polish supplies and snacks etc and of course the woman are getting your makeup cases, aprons and jewelry etc. I am trying to make as much as I can and your you tube tutorials have given me many ideas to start on. Thank you so much I am looking forward to many more great ideas and tutorials.
Love these bags. Made one as a last minute gift on Christmas Eve day, then made 4 more before New Years, sorry, I changed the last 4 up a bit by adding pockets to the insides. Thanks for posting such fun and interesting videos.
I glad to hear that you changed it a bit, that is what I like to see! That is why we sew...so that we can make it our way. Good for you and thanks for sharing :)
I am a beginner sewer. Two weeks ago I didn't know what a bobbin was and I made the reversible placemats from your video. What an incredible idea. They cam out perfectly. I made cardboard patterns to be sure the mats, liner and seam clearances were all the same and it worked perfectly. I am trying to gain the courage to tackle this GROW TOTE. Thank you
Sorry I missed this when it came out. How wonderfully simplistic yet beautiful you make this. I am off to make a few for my friends (and of course myself) The possibilities are endless! Thank you Laura xox
I avoided watching this vid "Oh, yes, ANOTHER tote" What a fool I was. This is an ingenious design. Thanks for presenting it. And, yes, I think I just might need another tote! Another winner, Laura.
What a beautiful Bag! Will try to do one, the only BIG difference is your fabric, gorgeous!! It's hard to deliver it to La Paz, Bolivia. Thanks for the wonderful idea Laura.
I always enjoy your videos. Can you design a bag that uses zipper compartments to expand a bag, like luggage, which will often place a zipper compartment that you can unzip and add needed space?
Wow, Laura .that is a beautiful shopping 🛍 bag. I love it. It looks so smart and strong to take weight , When shopping 🛍. Defiantly going to make a few. Really worth making. You make the nicest things , I love ❤️ the things you make and it always looks easy ....❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
I thought it would be fun to post our projects! I am so proud of my bag and you are a miracle worker to teach a beginner like me how to make this bag! But I do not see a way to post a picture
Helloo Laura. The bag has turned out very beautiful. I m a beginner. So I find it little difficult though you have explained very well. Also I m at a place where I don't get materials like wat u hv used as the bottom...the single piece....Also the one which is glued both sides. At the most I can get is d material which will stick frm one side only wen I iron on d other side..... can u suggest some alternative?
Hi Laura! As always, a great tutorial and project. You may already be aware or perhaps I’m missing something; however, in your written instructions there is no mention of attaching the fusible web to the lining prior to attaching to the bag. Otherwise, awesome instructions. Also, looking forward to receiving your new book that I recently ordered - can’t wait!
Me again! Maybe it's the isolation talking, but my previous "correction" regarding the fusible web for the lining - disregard! As you well know, it was attached later...again, blaming the isolation world we are currently in...take care!
@@catherinegray5106 I think we all are going a little crazy right now! No worries I hadn't had a chance to take a look at it anyways. You just saved me some time Thank you. Just have some fun time in the sewing room and pretend the real life doesn't exist. After all isn't that what we do when we are normally sewing 😆
i always look at your videos ,very much inspiring, do you sell shabby fabric,or little plastic hangers for pot holders thank you my dear waiting on comments
Hi Laura! I just found this video. Do you think I can use PUL fabric for the outside? Have extra left over from a project. Wondering about the fusible backings.
