Takes up less horizontal desk space than One+keyboard with real-size keys and a lot less cumbersome to move around your environment. Also, I love that it fits into my mixer stand which is where it lives for now in my studio setup. However, my favorite use for it right now is messing around and noodling while I'm queuing for games on my gaming PC.
I agree with the convenience aspect. What ever makes the music making process more convenient is an automatic win for me. That being said this is still a lacklustre product for me.
This will make for an amazing first MPC, I'd love to trade in my live for the keys 61 but definitely not something I "need". Stems is going to breath life into the MPC especially once it makes it to standalone.

Completely forgot about that. Wanted a Miko 37 in the worst way but just ridiculously expensive and its always seemed janky and doomed. This is pretty much the same thing but for a fraction of the price and basically the most space-efficient standalone synth/workstation ever ... Just ordered one! Finally getting my Miko!
What I personally need does not dictate whether a product is impressive or not. I think Akai made a great business decision. I’ll be more interested in a Mobile MPC mini than this however. I don’t need 2 MPC/FORCE devices.
I did see that picture... I think that just them putting there differences aside... Pro consumers is such a small market in comparison to casual... MPC need a foot hold in the casual Market soon or they won't be able to upsell anyone to the more expensive products because all there potential customers will already be in other eco systems.

You know I didn’t even consider how prominent of a colour red is for something of this size… it’s not exactly easy on the eye. But I suppose they want it to be a standout feature piece of gear in your room. Grey like the old skool MPC grey would be nice but I have absolutely no need for this; why would you consider it if already have a one and keys?

I love a more minimalistic setup so getting rid of a keyboard with a cable going to my MPC would be great….But I can’t do red. Me and red don’t get along.

I think I prefer the idea of having a modular setup that I can swap different parts in and out depending on how I'm working as I'm always changing things around (ever so slightly) but if I never had an MPC this would have been my purchase for sure! Not everything is for everybody. I don’t have a need for it either but it hits the spot for those who have been asking for it. I don’t know why people have latched on the unsubstantiated rumor of the Mini. It was uncorroborated speculation. A guy who claims he has inside information. Those who have inside information are under a NDA and aren’t free to blab.
Definitely has its place in the market to your first point. To your second point, I think it’s far less about how true the rumour is… and much more about how desirable that product is… The small form factor/portable space is and has been the trend for a while now and other companies are dominating. For a fraction of the price the SEQTRAK is an insane offer… MPC fans want an MPC in this part of the market. At this point Akai are handing market share to the competition because MPC price points are not entry price points either.
@@Mute_Con I hear you. My small form factor solution is a tablet with Cubasis installed. It leaves me not wanting for something else and I only use it when I’m on business or personal travel. At home, I use an MPC.

I agree, and I'm about to buy the cheapest Akai Pads to accomplish this task with Koala sampler. but realistically. an MPC in this form with dedicated I/O and Pads would be a much more fun device to use for the task.
I have it, unfortunately as fun and amazing as the EP133 is… it’s not portable… or rather it has a very poor build quality. If you put it in a backpack and transport it with you it will likely break.
I didn't see this video at the time but I'll tell You what the problem is from My view. Its old generic technology nothing new, those pads and keys are the exact same as the 12 year old MPK249 and its computer is the same as the MPC One. Basically its reusing and repackaging bulk bought parts from InMusic stock used across all there brands.
You know what… this makes a lot of sense… because I bought my love almost a decade ago and all the newer MPCs basically look like reruns of the same thing in different shapes and sizes… the force has damn near vanished… I need an in depth business meeting with inMusic to see where this is all going.

It's trash it will always degrade the quality of the sample, the mpc version sounds worse because it has les cpu and no gpu to dedicate to the algorithm but its always been a gimmick hence why nobody dies this, it artifacts. But the fool's falling for this brought a plastic awful build quality fake mpc with an $8 Ali express laggy touch screen blue tacked to it and some weird software with the Dre trademark that's a worse budget version fruity loops. These are the same people who rip terrible quality mp3s from compressed UA-cam videos, so of course they will think "stems" is this new cool thing. It's a joke. It's actually very sad.
@@CC-fi3pp this is a harsh hot take but I hear it, I do agree that stems degrades the quality of audio in a way that I don’t think is fit for music production/ sampling in its purest form but for mashups, I think it’s good enough so long as the source material is high quality and also the stems can become useful if layered with other sounds and treated well enough. Do I think MPC stems will cut the mustard… probs will get there but just be a lot slower because of the reduced CPU power but I think the general average performance expected from stems will be achievable in an MPC…. But live stems will never be a capability of the current mpcs which is what Serato has over the whole stems industry!

Stems sounds awful and always will, all of these new mpcs sound terrible and have disgusting build quality. Anything after the 4000 is sketchy.
