- Never have I cried of laughter and died of cringe in one sitting like this... this pre-finale episode of ATLA, The Ember Island Players, blew my expectations out of the water. But while we as the audience are having a ball, Katara and Aang don't take kindly to this play - which might cause more problems between them than they bargained for. If you're new to the channel and enjoy my content, consider subscribing and turning on notifications! F for Kataang... This episode had me crying of laughter and dying of cringe, what a way to lead into the finale!
Can you live stream the finale plzz
F for Kataang
U should livestream the final episodes
Im so fricking excited for the sozin's comet
14:23 Me when the series is over
It took me a while to realize they portrayed toph as a buff guy because she kept kicking fire nation ass
It's just propaganda and I think that's brilliant
i think it may also be bc the writers talked to the people Toph beat up and they didn t want to tell them they got theit butt kicked by a 12yo
Also is a reference to the original idea of Aangs original earthbender teacher, who was going to be a buff guy
You can see propaganda when Azula hit the lighting too. They show her hitting from the front, but the reality is that she attack from the back.
@@Tepotita And that guy was Sud. Roku's earthbending teacher.
@@supanjibobu6132 I know
""did jet just die"
"ya know it was realy unclear" REALY?
Yeah, it was kinda unclear
that was so meta
They weren’t allowed to have death on the show lmao
Jet died from a heart accident, he was alive for 2 more months but that boulder make the heart and the surrounding muscles, vanes, and organs collapse, Jet died at the age of 15 by a direct earth attack that make his heart literally break
In my heart he's dead.
There’s a theory about the Aang’s actor was Ty Lee’s sister
Which one?
@@KingOfSciliy the 3rd
Wow never heard that, thats pretty cool if its true!
There’s a theory that Ty Lee and her sisters are non-bending air nomad descendants, so that’d be pretty cool coincidence.
Blake F that one was mindblowing hahaha
Fun fact: the Zuko actor had his scar in the right side of his face instead of left, and the kid who told Zuko that his scar is in the wrong side, was all a joke on 1 scene in "The firebending masters" episode where Zuko's scar really was on the right side
@SaviorOfNirn well yeah but no one says Aang's clothes were on the wrong side as much as they say Zuko's scar was on the wrong side
SaviorOfNirn it wasn’t just his scar, the whole scene was flipped , which the original comment didn’t say, so no , it wasn’t pointless
@@kennedyhuff Yes, they do, just not in this episode because they didn't make a joke about it.
Actually, the episode was made before season 3 was released, hence why they didn't show much of book 3. The whole thing was unintentional
The voice actor for the actor playing Zuko in the play is actually Dante Bascos real life brother
Zuko’s face when toph says iroh talked about zuko to her was pure gold “really?” 🥺👉🏻👈🏻
Yeah he can be so adorable!
Now you go forward to when Korra did it, and the reaction was almost the same hahahaha
@@franciscoguinledebarros4429 That's one of my favorite moments in LOK.
I absolutely loved that scene.
That moment was the episode that we didn't have about Zuko n Toph's adventure like the others :')
"Punches are how I show affection."
**Literally punches Sokka every second of every day.**
👀
THERE ARE NO WHAT IFS SUYINS FATHER IS SOKKA!!!!!
👀👀👀
Sokka bagged Toph and Suki, Team Avatar scandalss😂😂😂
Yeah she liked sokka
I love when Toph punch Zuko and say thats how she show affection, because she did the same when Katara told she is pretty after the mean girls did a joke about her looking, and when she told Sokka that Katara did more than her own mother. That's really how she show affection.
Man, even the Ember Island Play had better actors and action/effects than the movie.
Yes, I know, there is no movie in Ba sing se🤫😂
Another edit: Guys, stop saying that there is no movie in Ba sing se, I KNOW!
I'm still leaving this comment btw.
There is no movie in Ba Sing Se
There is no avatar movie in ba sing se
Here we are safe
Here we are free
Mein Vater sagt ich bin ein kleiner spacki
This episode was meta af! The writers giving themselves a shout out while making fun of their own story lol.
the way Aang Nods when they say "I thought you were the Avatar's Girl" gets me everytime, there's something so realistic about this show
This was also where Zuko found that Jet had died! Imagine meeting a nice buddy on the ship and steal some nice food together, then have him start accusing you of being a firebender and taken away.. only to find out that he had died lmao
ikr sometimes i forget that zuko actually knew jet and met him personally
This man is going to lose his damn mind with the finale and I can't wait to witness!
I know right, I'm so hyped
I can’t wait either
I love his reactions! Love to see people really get into it.
I’ve been waiting for him to get to the finale
The actress Katara in the play is voiced by Grey DeLisle (Azulas voice actor in the show).
Actor Azula (in play) is voiced by Tara Strong (Timmy Turner).
Derek Basco (Dantes brother) voices actor Zuko
And Azula's voice actor is Vicky
@@thegreenstache6163 yes indeed!
Tara Strong was also known for voicing Raven from Teen Titans
Azula’s voice actor (Grey DeLisle) is also the voice actor for Roku’s wife.
I love toph in this episode, she wasn't let down because her character wasn't accurate to her, she helped zuko about his uncle, she's the most stable person in the group, and she didn't let things get to her. That's why I love toph
well . . . she is THE earth bender of grup, so she have to be the most stable person XD
@@josue1996jc nice lol
I love how Toph’s actor is a guy because the people who got their asses kicked by her didn’t want to admit to the researchers that they were beat up by a little blind girl
katara saying she was confused made me think of yue too, back in s1: "but i like you too much, and it's too confusing to be around you"! don't give up hope on kataang yet!
Katara's actor was really going for that Oscar nomination.
Aang: You said that you didn't have feelings for me!
Shredder: Uh oh
Ad: ARBY'S-WE HAVE THE MEATS
UA-cam really be setting us up lmao
Azula: I think I found your honor!
Zuko: Where?
Lesson of the day, Azula is a savage
This is, no joke, my fav episode! I loved seeing all the laughter!!!
10:00 I'm a theater person too and I love all those details put into this episode. For example, actor Aang peeking out the corner of her eye to catch Azula's "lightning." So awesome!
12:31 There's a very brief moment when Aang and Zuko are surrounded by the dragon fire where Zuko's scar was accidentally drawn on the wrong side. Some very sharp eyed viewers caught it and the writers included a joke about.
18:28 Yeah, the first time and everytime I watch it the dread of the end always comes. Weirdly, though, that's actually part of the charm of ATLA. It tells the story it set out to tell and then ends before over-staying its welcome.
Excited for the finale!!!!!
17:10 - 17:18 The Last Airbender Movie reviews summed up
nah the effects did not deserve to be called decent
@@mikkelturtvig true, the effects were terrible
@@mikkelturtvig The costume design was decent.

"I'm just feel with so much hope"- Katara
TANGIBLE sadness at the end! "All good things come to an end," and only the finale is left! I feel ya, Shredder! And I'm going to miss your Avatar reaction videos! My favorite Saturday morning cartoons ever... :)
When Aang saw the part with Katara and Zuko play the “that’s rough buddy”
I just realized, Zuko never took Toph on a life-changing adventure. Instead Toph gave Zuko a life changing talk.
“The end of Kataang?!”
The finale episode: im about to do what’s called a pro gamer move
Bro don't spoil him
Don't spoil him
No spoilers pls
Please delete your comment. Not trying to be mean, but spoilers kinda destroy everything
Katara: I’ll always love you....like a brother
Zhou: Thats quite a bit of damage
"The scar is on the wrong side" Lol
Almost all reactions of all vloggers about this episode of ATLA notice that hot bod of Zuko 😂😂
the writer’s confirmed that jet was katara’s first kiss so watching 6:05 is extra funny
SHREDDER. i learned from my family that the BEST WAY to end a series is to go back immediately and watch the first episode again. it’s a great way to reflect on the series as a whole and i think it would be really cool if you did it. PLEASE
i’ve never seen anybody else do this
Zuko: "Ow... What you do that for?"
Toph: "That's how I show affection."
Me: *-Well at least you're not a Tsundere-*
One of the greatest lines in my opinion is Azula saying “Wait! What’s that? I think it’s your honor” 😂 I was dying so hard
I think one of the biggest factors on whether you are a zutara or kataang shipper is
Are you a 'best friends to lovers' or 'enemies to lovers' person
I missed the 'surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage' part in my 2 rewatches lol
The series finale is a masterpiece. An almost perfect conclusion to an almost perfect series. It cements its status as one of the best narratives ever written (in any medium).
This episode was basically one big fun recap, making fun of themselves, some of the episodes like The Great Divide, and even having some light fun with the fans and answering some trending questions , like the fans who shipped Zuko and Katara, and those who keep asking about Jet (which only left more questions than answers), and even when apparently there was an episode or a moment, when Zuko's scar was on the wrong side of his face lol.
Hearing Robins voice so many times in this series is something random that just makes me laugh every time lol
BEST Recap/Parody Ever!!!
"the Kataang dream" lmaoo
bro when you see the part 4 of the finale you are going to fly out of your chair
This is possibly my favorite episode of TV ever! They way they can give you a recap episode AND forward the plot? It's perfection.
I always thought that this episode is really clever it's basically a series recap before the finale but they do it in such a fun and smart way actually making it part of the story.
Hidden lore. Love among the dragons was zukos mothers favourite play.
One of them masks was actually the mask of the blue spirit.
Zukos mother was a lead actress who was doing that play when the old firelord azlon came to find her
Just gonna point this out toph kept a foot on the ground so she was able to see Zuko and Aang shirtless
Can you blame her tho
ShredderFTW To be honest I would do the same thing thanks for hearting btw
Fun Fact: the voice actor who played Zuko in the play is actually Dante Basco’s (Zuko’s voice actor) brother.
Also, The Boy In The Iceberg is the title of the show’s first episode
And the play poster was the actual design cover for S1 on dvd
1:41 the moment many kids didn't wanna play with kids' toys anymore
I love how they're addressing stuff like jet etc in this episode it's so awesome
We may have lost the battle, but not the war. Kataang forever.
You said it 🙌🙌
Amen, brother!
Hell yes brother
My first and forever OTP.
"Love is hard...when you're young."
This is not a recap for us viewers but for them as characters. Other shows would just throw some flashbacks but ATLA is just different.
Nobody:zukos scarf is in the wrong site by the actor
@ranwir singh Yes, his s c a r f
Must be cold in the fire nation
I had a heart attack when the DAMMMNN sound effect happened
“that wasn’t a good play”
“the effects were decent!”
totally a jab at the last airbender movie
The Last Airbender movie didn't exist yet
Invincible Consumer u got me
I found Richard and binged all of these today and I can’t even TELL you how happy I am to know I’ll get to watch the finale right afterwards because I also became a patron 🙌🏼
14:06 we may never see him again because he just died from too much cringe
“ my heart is soooo full of hope it’s making me tearbend “
"I will see you guys in the series finale" NOT THE NEXT EPISODE 😭😭😭
This is the episode I’ve seen the most. I’ve seen the show at least six times over, but I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen this one episode.
Fun facts:
The play is teasing that Toph was originally supposed to be a muscular male character in the show but got changed to the little blind girl.
In this episode the zuko actor's scar is on the wrong side as a joke because an error was made in the episode "the fire bending masters" where in the scene the dragons are breathing fire around aang and zuko they accidentally put zuko's scar on the wrong side
9:05 Aang's little nod is everything
Imagine Dwayne Johnson playing the toph actor in this episode in the live show
Ember Island Players: The only review necessary for the live action movie. So much parody in such a short time. So brilliant.
The reason Toph is played by a big guy is cuz when the playwright asked people what Toph looked like, they described her as a big strong man cuz they were embarasssd to admit they were defeated by a 12 year old girl
Fun fact zuko in the play was played by dante bascos brother (dante voices regular zuko)
noo the show is ending Shredder is been an honor to rewatch Avtar with you.!.
PS:would you do a rection on The Legend Of Korra??
Personally I always thought that Katara was distancing her self away from Aang because he may not return after battling Ozai and is bracing her self for that possibility
Wow, can't believe that you are almost done with ATLA!
One recommendation I would give to you after ATLA is to watch (and possibly upload) The Dragon Prince (TDP), also on Netflix.
Here's some good reasons why you should check it out:
-TDP is known to be a successor of ATLA, because even though it's not in the same universe, it's written by Aaron Ehasz (who cowrote ATLA) and features Sokka's VA as the main character's voice. Many of these reasons down below are what made ATLA such a great show
-It's also a lot more praised and better received than The Legend of Korra. (No hate to TLoK)
-TDP has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (like ATLA) and won an emmy! (Was nominated for Outstanding Musical Composition and won Outstanding Children's Animated Series)
-It gives out good lessons, messages and themes, proving that it isn't just for kids: There is racial diversity, LGBTQ characters, it gives a spotlight to disabled characters, and covers the topics of war and racism.
-There's ATLA references ;)
-The soundtrack is amazing! I am a film music lover and TDP's OST is a big reason why it's so well praised! (And got nominated for an emmy)
-Great community/fandom
-It's on Netflix, so you have access to it
-It's storyline and plot is similar to ATLA's but unique and interesting in it's own way
-The creators listen to their fans' criticism and advice so they can make each season better.
There are so many more great things about this show, so I really hope you check it out! Hope you continue to provide great content for us and stay safe during the worldwide pandemic! :)
Yes! TDP would be so much of a better choice than LoK
The dragon prince is so great, although I wouldn't say it is quite on avatar level (yet).
The dragon Prince is great. He definitely needs to react it. I am glad we are getting the entire saga
I mean... why not both? Whatever helps algorithms more. LOK is coming to Netflix soon right? RIDE THE HYPE!! Then Pick up TDP when season 4 goes up.
You mightve convinced me instead
toph's actor screaming is the funniest damn thing in the entire series, i die every time i watch it lmaooo
Best recap episode I've seen 😂
Fun fact, the VA for "actor zuko" was Derek Basco, the brother of Dante Basco (the real zuko). Also the VA for actor Katara was Grey Griffin ( the real Azula).
This is the best recap episode I've ever seen, you don't even realize it's a recap episode!
Props to that one guy who did all the effects by himself
Legend of korra (the sequel show to avatar) is coming to Netflix on August 14, you should react to it.
He said he wouldn't.
@@PxndaCakes Oh no. Why?
@paula just like you
Korra is TRASH
@@mariekano9730 you too
Him being like: yk the feeling when you first watch the series and you don't want it to be over?
Me: buddy I've watched it over 20 times and I still don't want it to be over
zuko: i was the rightful heir to the throne untill my sibling stole it from me
denarys targaryan: welcome to the club buddy
lol I love your reactions man, not to sound generic but watching you get excited about little things in the show touches my inner nerd haha. Much love brotha
14:25 Zhao: That's quite a bit of damage.
By the way for the Katara and zuko field trip while aapa was flying you could see the full moon
14:00 The first time I watched this I thought he said "I'm a f***ing idiot!" 😂
that scene with katara and aang makes me cringe so much i always look away XD
This series was actually originally supposed to have 4 seasons, where Azula had a redemption
3 was just perfect tbh, its like POTC. The first 3 was gold and the more they kept milkin it it just wasnt the same. Also Azula literally murdered Aang i dont see them ever seeing eye to eye or being at friends at least😂😂
Fun fact! Toph was actually planned to be a somewhat buff guy who would act as a foil for Sokka, y’know cuz Sokka ain’t as buff as Ember Island Toph. It’s cool that they showed it in this episode!
Fun Fact: Toph was originally gonna be a boy.
Fun Fact #2: Zuko's scar was on the wrong side during "The Firebending Masters" episode. The error lasted for 2 seconds when Aang and Zuko were looking up at the colorful fire from the 2 dragons.
Fun fact: the guy who played Toph was voiced by The Rock
can we appreciate the (probably unintentional) symbolism of the scar though? When Zuko is told that his scar is on the wrong side, it could be symbolism for what side of the war Zuko ends up choosing. It isn't on the wrong side because Zuko believes he's doing the right thing (Also the obvious - yknow it literally is on the wrong side which is another thing, Zuko's people don't actually know what side his very recognizable scar is on.) Anyway, that's something that's probably both unintentional and also been pointed out before.
Don't give up on Kataang yet theres still an hour and a half left of the series
And sadly yes it does end it's not like Doctor Who that just keeps going on and on and on
You must read the comics!!! they reveal soo much about things of the ATLA universe, so many secrets and the conflict after the end of the series! like Zuko's search for his mother, how Aang try to restore balance in the nations and so much more!
Omg that’s azulas voice actress doing the play version of katara how did I never notice
I'm loving watching you watch these. Oh man this was my childhood. You're reactions are great!
You should watch The Legend of Korra. It's a story about the Avatar after Aang. It's gonna air on Netflix in a few weeks.
*Hmm...*
Eh, i domt know
@@menkirdennis6686 Its a good show and he should react to it
I wish i could relive watching ATLA for the first time
I think it funny that many miss that the end of this episode was their way of commenting on the Shamalyn movie. First time around I didn’t like this episode but as time went on I learned to appreciate it so much.
@ShredderFTW So....the last “episode” is really like 6 episodes...or basically a movie...THERES SO MUCH they packed into an hour and a half!
The greatest retrospective/recap-before-a-finale-episode ever in the history of television.
This episode is one of the best (if not THE best; times change, so maybe it's not THE best now, but I'd argue it certainly WAS the best at the time of its release) recap episode EVER. The timing is great, too. It's right before the Finale, which is probably the best time to do a recap of the entire show, for any show really. And they did it in way that's just hilarious, which is perfect for giving a small breather before the emotionally-packed finale.
Because it's certainly packed with emotions. Get ready for some feels man ;)
Every day is a day for avatar!
18:37 you could read the comics
