@Anson & Co. I’m absolutely torn between the GH7 and the Sigma FP… I would love to get your thoughts on the Pros and Cons of each and maybe see a comparison video?
@@AnsonandcoBoth are ideal for documentary work. The feature set of the GH7 has so many advantages: IBIS, ProRes RAW, Dual Gain, 32-Bit Float… But the Sigma FP captures uncompressed 8-bit & 12-bit RAW CDNG in an inconspicuous body. The GH7 has more video features but it’s in a package that screams “I don’t have a permit to be shooting here” while the Sigma though it lacks all the bells and whistles can capture CDNG in a body that could pass for a P&S. Choosing between the two is difficult because one hand being able to run away from the rent-a-cops and still have smooth footage is hella useful… not attracting their attention in the first place might be worth sacrificing some of the “nice-to-haves”
@@SaskamodieJones yeah that is the nice thing about the fp. Imma throw another option out there, have you considered the lumix s9? No raw video, no 32 bit float audio, but similar size to the fp with amazing ibis and AF

@@ngonzale3 no, I would however sprint for the IIX so that you can record pro res raw externally. But there are more benefits to the S5IIX that still justify it for me
If someone think that having ProRes Raw is a sacrifice of other good codecs, they’re sorely mistaken. RAW video is the best quality you can have in any camera. Storage is more affordable so that should not be a reason why people don’t shoot in RAW
Still a lot of audio limitations: 4 channel audio can not be recorded from the internal mics and the external 3.5 input at the same time. No internal 32 bit float audio. The XLR2 cost more than a complete set of Røde Wireless PRO (which does float audio internally in transmitters). Also, can probably not handle a USB-C mic to the USB input, something that even the DJI Pocket 3 does now. Also, why no team up with DJI and put the wireless receiver INSIDE the camera, again something that the Pocket 3 manages for a price less than the XLR2 device.

I hate micro four thirds, having a large part of the frame in focus is a pain : i have to actually think about how I frame, what the meaning of each shot is by also thinking about my chosen focal length, movements, light and colors…. Full frame shooting at f1.4 is much better, even the face of my subject is partially blurry and we can’t tell where he is or what he’s doing, everybody is just swimming in beautiful bokeh that’s the real shit of cinematography.
Also it sucks because I can’t shoot at 56 thousands ISO in total darkness… when shooting by night with micro four thirds I have to position my subjects where the light falls, creating contrast… it’s so much work. Sometimes we also have to light up the subject and it’s so much work and brings so many questions to ask ourselves, what a pain.
