I am praying that I'm next in joining the AMAZING and PHENOMENAL organization of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. I am currently pursuing membership via a grad chapter. They had an informational this past March but my degree will not be conferred until Jan 2024 so I didn't seek any current info because I did not want to waste their time. This chapter will be having a Pearlette informational this August and I will be taking my daughter. I emailed the chapters membership email like their Facebook page suggested and asked if there will be another informational this year but I haven't heard back yet. With them having an informational in March I'm guessing they are shooting for a summer or fall 2023 line. I'm praying they do Spr 2024 line and I'm on it!!!!!!🙌🏿🙌🏿😊

How would you suggest an introduction for someone attending an interest meeting for an alumnae chapter?
Hey! I’m new to your channel and just wanted to thank you for all the useful information you’re providing for us. I do have a quick question; is it okay to show face at an interest meeting (with research done of course) a year prior to actually applying or is that a red flag? I have set my time aside this summer to study all the orgs (fraternities included) so I can be confident enough to show face at the interest meeting, but I don’t want to actually join until I’m close to done with undergrad so my GPA doesn’t flop. Should I just hold out on the interest meeting until I actually join or are my intentions okay?
Hey welcome new Smoochie! And there's no harm as long as you have done enough research to know what you want. I went to the Zeta informational a year ahead to know what I needed when I was ready to apply. And then I went back the next year with everything I needed, fully qualified 💋

+Roxanne Taylor girl surprisingly enough it's more common then you think. It's not about your age, just what you have to offer. Obviously it's easier to relate to people in your age group but everyone who qualifies is a legal adult. Between 19 and 25 average age. Good luck to you 💋
My aunt joined her sorority in her 50s/60s! It happens. Also, remember that you can later apply to a graduate chapter. I will though caution that sometimes grad chapters can go several years between intake. I suggest taking advantage of the undergrad opportunity now if you have the option.

Hey, I just missed an interest meeting rush for a graduate chapter organization. I'm so upset. Is there anything I can do or do I have to wait another year or two for another rush from this organization?
I really appreciate this video. It eased my nerves a little but I dont have too much recent community service also im not a traditional college student anymore. Will any of those have an effect?
+KaliGurliie96 Hey ! Thanks for watching ! And I would try to get back into service but also be able to explain the gap in your service. Also these are collegiate organizations and so you either have to be enrolled and working towards a bachelor's degree or higher or have already earned a bachelor's degree or higher. Hope this helps 💋
You definitely need to get your community service up. Depending on the organization you are interested in, they will require proof of service along with your application. Two tips: Since you say you are traditional student, I would review the membership requirements on the sorority's national website. They may require that you are a full-time student to apply. There are no age requirements but just realize at the undergrad level, the chapter will be full of college-aged women. That's your preference of if you want to be involved with that. You also have the option of waiting until after you graduate and applying to a graduate chapter where the ages vastly vary.

+Lenéya Thank you and I think they absolutely should ! If a person is interested in an org for the RIGHT reasons then they would still want to be a part of it even if they missed the undergrad experience. 💋

I agree with the comment from the poster. If you wanted to join the organization in undergrad for the right reasons, then don't give up on that dream. The Alumnae level chapters do a lot of good work for the community and are still just as much members as those at the undergrad level. Definitely continue to pursue membership and keep up your community service. (Very important).
So if you join one sorority does that mean you can never wear colors from another sorority? My favorite color is pink but that’s not necessarily the sorority I would try to join (I’m still undecided & doing research)
No, you can wear whatever color you like. Pink is my favorite color too lol but I make sure I show up and show out in my blue and white at Greek events and sorority events. But no, you can still wear what you want in your every day life 💋
On your academic resume, how far should you go back or only discuss College years?

My GPA in undergrad wasn't great at all. My GPA in graduate school was excellent. I'm thinking of pledging grad chapter. Will they ask for my transcript from undergrad or just grad school? Will my grades from undergrad be a problem for me to get in?
If you are finished with grad school they will just need that. If you are still in grad school you will need your transcripts from undergrad.
Might it be unwise to wear pearls if that’s one of the sorority’s jewels?🤔

For the Q & A, what if I’ve prepared a lot of questions but no one else is really asking so should I just keep raising my hand and asking all of my questions? I don’t want to seem like an over achiever “pick me” type of girl because I just keep raising my hand asking questions
Ask your 2 most important questions and wait till the end when people are mingling. Then just ask some one on one questions. Make sure that your questions are things that can't be researched on your own though 💋

At some PWI they have joint informationals. Sounds similar to that but I'm not too sure.

You don't need a work resume. Just a school one 💋
What are some good ideas to raise money while still being discrete?
+KP fund raise. Sell foods, goods, or a service. That doesn't require you to mention a reason. You can ask for donations of family and mentors as well. Get a job also. Refund checks if you get them. Etc.
For each question you ask do you suggest saying your name multiple times to each question? Lol and what if you don’t have a good resume for school only for work experience.
If they are in a row, no. But I would say only ask a couple questions. Don't bombard them with questions. Chances are someone else will have the same question and will ask. And I also suggest you make a school resume. 💋
If your asking the members multiple questions should you keep mentioning your name , major, etc or just mention it once ?

I wouldn't ask more than a couple questions so make it count. And you can repeat your name but you don't have to repeat all your info unless they ask you to
When transferring.. do you need a transcript from the new college your attending or both the new and old ?
Your new college will include all coursework from your previous school on that transcript.
If I'm not sure which sorority I want to join can I go to the different sorority interest meetings or no?
+Tishara Doby I wouldn't advise it, even though I don't agree with that. People are petty and even though the point of an informational is to learn info for a decision, many girls will take that as yoh making a definite choice and then flip flopping which could hinder your chances. Instead, attend the events of all the Greeks and observe as well as do personal research 💋

Please Help! I asked an org about missing an informational on IG and if there would be a similar even!! I thought interest meetings and information also were different.. What do I do? Will I be blackballed? Should I talk to them about it? I have no Greek friends or family so it was an honest mistake.
Did you ask privately or In a public comment ? honestly it's not that deep to black ball you. just don't expect a response
It was through a private DM and no they did not answer. I unsent the message. I’m not sure if I should apologize or let it be.
It also was apart of their week of events so I really didn’t think it was the same as an interest meeting.

When do you need to bring letters of recommendation? How many should I have?
You turn it in with your application on the due date they provide. And I reccomend 3 but they will tell you how many they want at the informational

If you’re trying to join grad chapter, do you still use your academic resume?
Yes to an extent. Are you currently in a grad program or recently graduated undergrad? If so, you will still have recently experience to include. Your most recent GPA is going to be a factor either way. If you have graduated a while ago and are not current in a graduate program, use your most recent information, most recent community service (go back at least a year).
The sorority I was interested in has been suspended from my school for about 19 years now would I be able to pledge at a close university? How would I get information about that?
+LaShonda27 if a chapter has been suspended at your school to my knowledge you wouldn't be able to pledge unless you transferred or did graduate chapter. Hope this helps 💋

Is there ever a time that someone with a Lower GPA will get picked over someone with a higher GPA???
There's always a possibility. It's not likely though. I suppose it depends on how much lower the GPA is

Yes, there's always a possibility. They don't JUST look at GPA. They look at the whole packet to determine the best candidate. But If the minimum GPA is 2.8 the person with that GPA is least likely to be chosen because that's the BARE minimum.

Hello does each chapter have a certain amount of people they can allow in the organization each year? Also, does it look bad to show up to the interest meeting a couple of minutes early? Should I introduce myself as soon as I walk in the room or should I just find a seat? Thank you!
+France Johnson it depends on the school and chapter. Some have a cap of how many girls they bring in each intake period. And showing up 5 mins early to the interest meeting wouldn't hurt. It's better than strolling in 5 mins late 💋

+France Johnson privates can be in the Spring or Fall. Depends on the university's rules and schedule. And the interest meeting is always that same semester. You should find a seat but speak and greet people that pass by. There will be time for introductions once it begins. But obviously if someone introduces them selves to you then you should return that. 💋
