This was..... honestly I like this little look into Judge Death's psyche. REALLY highlights how insane and unhinged he really is. Good work Adi Shankar.
That... Was fricken AWESOME!!! I suspect that it would be helpful to have a significant amount of Judge Dredd knowledge in order to really understand the subtleties, but I was able to get through with just a bare understanding of the characters from the series. :)
I have been sharing this on to people and explaining that it's the closest anyone has come to capturing the mood and feel of the comics. (including the amazing 2012 Dredd) That's some achievement by itself.
This animation reminds me of HeavyMetal, completely amazing!! Never even heard of this, or seen it.. I accidentally hit this channels profile while watching Studio Taka Berserk video. Wow! What a diamond to find!!!! Amazing channel, man! Simply amazing..
+Adi Shankar With Dredd being successful and finding it's audience on DVD/Blu Ray what are the odds of getting the funds for Dredd 2 now it has an audience?
***** Well, if it were easy - anyone would do it! :) If anyone has a shot at making it a success, I would trust it to you and I know many others would.
Really, really sick reimagining. Great mix of animated influences like Heavy Metal and Pink Floyd's The Wall. Fuck making movies, this here is enough. I especially love those animatic pre-viz videos, allowing you the freedom you could only ever get from your own sketchbook.
Okay. I've watched the whole thing and tried to put my brain back in after. Quite honestly I came in with very little understanding of Judge Dredd universe. And a vague memory of someone explaining Judge death to me in a beer garden. I knew there were Psykers for lack of a better word from the recent movie, but the metaphysical side of things faaaar beyond me at this point... With all that said. I loved it!!!!
Now that was psychedelic. Some of the weirdest (non-anime) shit I´ve seen in a long time. Also some of the creepiest dystopian atmosphere. Loved every bit of it. Thanks for the nightmares people XD
Definitely no signs if psychosis in this at all. Nope just a wholesome family morning cartoon. Totally encouraging to know our youth is so mindfully influenced. Even older children with multiple personalities can find disorders previously unthought of. So timeless.
I have to say, my biggest complaint with this, as with the 2012 film, is that there are no Dredd swears. Everyone seems so very eager to say "fuck" but nobody says "drokk" or "stomm." I dunno, maybe it'd be harder to take someone seriously if they said "grudd" instead of "shit," but it'd be that one step closer to the source material, which would be nice.
I love Warhammer 40k, and I love Judge Dredd, but after learning a lot about 40k and some of Dredd, I can’t stop wondering: What the fuck was with British people in the 80’s?! They made some of my absolute favorite things in this world, from music to fictional universes, but an awful lot of it sounds like the national equivalent of existential dread and crippling depression, wrapped up with a nice tidy bow of gallows humor. Seriously, I get the impression that the whole country could’ve *really* used a hug and a cup of hot chocolate back then.
you seriously need to do a version of Battle of the Planets/G-force. that shit would be incredible and I could imagine the fight scene would make nerds jizz.
Adi great work dude love all of your stuff, have you ever thought of doing maybe something for the comic book sandman or perhaps some kind take on the novel called "nocturnal" by Scott sigler it's amazing and I think perfect with the way you direct and create these worlds
I had a hilarious idea for a mini-movie in the vein of this guy's other stuff....but I'm sure there are a million other-me's out there with hilarious ideas too....
Jamie Hewlett who does the art for Gorillaz and a co-creator was also the co-creator of Tank Girl, the artist on Hewligan's Haircut (2000AD IP) and has drawn a few Dredd strips. When I get to uploading it I'll link to a mashup I drew called Judge 2DD.
+Adi Shankar WOW!!!!!!!!!! Castlevania series!? =D Castlevania is one of my alltime favorite gameseries. Considering your other work, the expectations are sky high. Oh btw this is brilliant. Thanks.
I honestly don't think this worked for me. I think I get what you are going for. And with all the likes, I'm sure most people agree you pulled it off. I don't know why it didn't click with me, but even then- it's still pretty impressive.
let's just use comic logic....the sweat on the judges finger was so embedded with his dead skin that the gun read THAT. Kinda like it was caked all over the trigger..so the gun read all that gunk and the person who had the gun just applied pressure. Kinda like wearing a glove with the judges dna and fingerprint on it. It doesn't happen much so it's not reliable, but it CAN happen and in this instance it DID happen. It's not that hard to come up with some kind of logic so that a comic movie/story can happen. it's comic universe after all
@@agonleed3841 of course there can be an explanation, but they didn't give any. It's just, I don't think an integral part of the Lawgiver's security should be ignored.
@@WorldCupWillie they don't have to GIVE you EVERY SINGLE DROP of a thing. that's lazy watching to me. Wanting someone to give me EVERY single detail. Let if flow and let me feel like I am with the show/movie. That's how I prefer to watch. Sure, it's nice, sometimes, to get extra details..but in this case..maybe it was indeed a mistake..but the mistake was SO LITTLE considering ME...the wathcer..UNDERSTANDS the topic I'm watching. I'm watching a comic book based thing..and I undrestand the world of comics. I mean..I accept that he's got this huge dentist truck driving on a supended road with no rails, driving everyone off the edge..as if they wouldn't have SOME way to prevent that..but I'm going to let some fingerprint mess with my mind? Honestly..I'd agree with you if he took the gun, wiped it off. left it on the table and 3 other people touched it, then someone shot it..THEN I'd say, "ok.now there's NO way". But in the instance we saw, we have to first believe there's NO way..and well..there IS at least ONE way. it happened quickly..we saw the judge had a gun for EVERY day and seems FRIDAY was if FAVORITE. And he's such a happy killer...me MAY clean his gun..but even I only clean the barrel of my gun, Ii usually skip the trigger. It's mine and only I touch it. And it's licensed to me..if it's used..it's going to be traced to me anyhow..what's the use of cleaning off prints? Soooo...in this instance all that sweat and fingerprint gunk was still there readable to the gun, and the other guy just pressed the button, hoping for the best, and luck was on his side....as comic books do a lot anyhow. Just saying, it's a lot of words to type maybe and a lot to SAY..but the thinking process isn't that complicated to understand. In a milisecond that whole thing came to me. The only time it's bad logic is if even when I try to create a scenario that something could happen, but it still doesn't make much sense.
@@agonleed3841 it's always been such an important part of the lore of the gun. The palm print security caused crims to lose limbs when trying to use a Judge's gun. They even made a story where, while a new batch of guns were being built, a criminal added a way to deactivate the palm sensor remotely.
This was..... honestly I like this little look into Judge Death's psyche. REALLY highlights how insane and unhinged he really is. Good work Adi Shankar.
so glad to see the full version.
the episodic nature of the original version killed the pacing

Mir fehlen die Worte...! Super Synchronisation! Sehr guter Soundtrack! Mehr davon...
In the end she become the new Judge Death and give three of the judges dark powers.
Adi Shankar... your stuff , reminds me Ralph Blaski... movies... which is no put down... your a genius
Flip dude that was awesome. Gorillaz meets dread meets heavy metal ( maybe not in that order)
Thank you for letting me be involved in this :)
+Oliver Hollingdale Thank you Oliver!

+ChainReaction! +THOMAS CARNACKI There is only the 2012 movie (with Karl Urban) but even that took some liberties.
THOMAS CARNACKI
// Nonetheless, the 2012 Dredd movie was awesome.
+Stephen Ng u r out if ur fuckin mind!! Dredd sucked soo hard!!
Thank you so much for these brutally awesome videos Adi Shankar! You are one hell of a creative genius!
Awesome stuff Adi, as per usual! :D
Why not try and produce a Dredd Series for Netflix? Similar to what they have done with Daredevil?
+iGM Talks I'd love that. The rights are complicated.
*****
Well, if it were easy - anyone would do it! :) If anyone has a shot at making it a success, I would trust it to you and I know many others would.
+Adi Shankar Netflix is handing out show budgets like candy right now. I'd definitely talk to them and show this as a proof of concept.
+Adi Shankar as much as I love the animation I would love if you could do a gritty live action series with Karl Urban much in the vein of Dredd
Great stuff!
Holy shit this is amazing, he looks like the mouth of sauron
A good take on the origins of the dark judge known as judge death

Holy f***. This was awesome. Can I get a whole series lol?
That was phenomenal!
Holy fucking shit that was amazing. Creative and original animation, unpredictable twists, what the fuck that was so good

Bad-ass, I really enjoyed this! Very well done!!!
great job! good intro to the dredd verse for alot of people!
Holy hell! I can only hope there's a second one, I'd love to see what happens next.
Twisted and awesome. I like.
Great work as always Adi! Looking forward to the next one!
This is actually so awesome
I still say that this should be a show.
I had a happy, sunshine Angry Birds AD...before this dark chapter started.
Nice story, BTW.

Does anyone else get "the batman who laughs" vibes when watchings this, or is it just me?
This is soooo dark lmao i love it
Haven't watched the original movie but after seeing this, I know I should. Now I know it probably won't be as gory but still, lol.
AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!!!
I saw this earlier as episodes, too. What I had wanted to touch on is how much like Billy in "Family Dog" the Boyhood Sydney appeared.

Wow epic
Adi you're so awesome man.

How can I get the soundtrack to this video?
That, was fucking *immense!*

Sequel, please!

What are the chances of us getting a sequel to this?
When will the castlevania series be ready?

Ok thanks. Will it have the same animation style as this one?

11:50 How to completely ANNIHILATE SOMEONE.
