The exterior is stunning. The interior is absolutely horrifying.
Its like a mausoleum - awful. I do not know how Ryan kept a straight face let alone how he kept from losing his lunch. And no, that isn’t a difference in taste, I see things that are not my taste and I can still appreciate the design skill that went into it. That house looks like someone in the precious stone business on crack. Absolutely the most hideous home I have ever seen, stunning on the exterior and a disaster on the interior. Can the stone be removed before they bulldoze the house for being a complete loss? The only value at all is in the land unless you can find another person with equally bad taste who has billions to buy it.
@@m.lowery7291 Good lord, panicky one ... get a grip on yourself. Have you never heard of remodeling? Have you never heard of carpet, paint, wallpaper, re-stoning, or re-tiling? Yes, it is mostly gawd-awful-gaudy on the inside ... like it was decorated by Versace, Picasso, and Salvador Dali, all tripping on mushrooms ... but taking into consideration some of the interior stonework is keepable, the exquisite grounds which would take _years_ to reproduce, and the very bones of a *stone* mansion of this size that overlooks Manhattan ... this place is *_priceless!_* And if you can afford the asking price and the $1500 a day in taxes, then the remodel and upkeep costs are likely pocket change. The things you are frantically whining and crying about are cosmetic!
*"Bulldoze the house"?* Have you gone mad? Good grief, look at the big picture of this property and use your imagination ... for crying out loud!
*_EEEPS!!!_*
The vibes tells me that its previous owners are middle eastern princes who got money from oil.
agree!
I came here to say the exact same thing. 😂
A beautiful, meticulously landscaped estate marred by the most ghastly, horrifying interior I’ve ever seen.
Hideous! Bears and gigantic sea shells lmao! If I had that kind of money I wouldn’t use it to ruin the planet and I would help people in need. Pure greed
It looks like they hired a designer for each room and each one of them came up with their own idea. No fluidity.
Actually gave me chills.
Absolutely old sport I'll be Putting my money on it soon 💰
@@dfrjbr drunk. You forgot drunk! On cheap, boxed wine with cartons of cigarettes and Walmart caviar.
Us New Yorkers know about the Sapir mansion very well. The fact you were able to FINALLY give us a tour of this ultra secretive house is magical! Ryan, you are the BEST!!!!!
Legendary house for a legendary person
The interior is the ultimate definition of money can't buy taste
What the interior is perfect
🤣 this guy
I was going to comment the same thing! It’s hideous
💰 MONEY buys everything dude 🙌
Exactly lol
How do Ryan & Stefani talk about this place with a straight face? it is a nightmare once you enter the house!!
The potential commission is keeping them serious 😂😂
They have to sell this house
I've been obsessed with this house for over 10 years, could never find any videos of it, thanks for showing it ryan.
I love when that happens!
It's as if Michael Jackson, Liberace, and Thorin Oakenshield got together and started their own interior design firm.
@ryanserhant23 high, real Ryan.
@joycemeyer89How is the weather in Lagos, Nigeria?
That has to be the best description of these stupefying interiors. I'd love to know who's "vision" this was.
That comment actually made me LOL
😂😂😂😂😂 I said Willy wonka 70s
Wow I’ve never been so let down by a house before
Outside is a absolutely stunning!
Inside is a gag machine for anyone who likes interior design
Who in tf designed the interior
Seriously I’m appalled by the idiocy
I was thinking it looks pretty ‘80s. So maybe an old reno that didn’t try to carry the outside style?
Well. The house was nice and the russian billionaire, the last know owner redesigned the interior with the most prestigious work of labor, inlays and macheyerie of nobles marbles and even more exotic stones. We can relate how tacky the russian was and how hard the designers worked to fulfill his passion for the exaggeration. The issue is, who ever buy the Mansion is going crazy into maintainance beacuase of the ammount of details, labor, rarity and odd work out in every inch. THat[s why the hou is for sell since las decade with no habitants. Its a nightmare
Are you nuts?! That interior is to die for
The animated doll room is actually terrifying! Can you imagine how creepy that would be in the middle of the night? I shudder just thinking about it, yeesh!
Thankfully the master bedroom is isolated enough that you can't hear them come alive at night
definitely first thing to go in the remodel
the whole house is just creepy
@@patricec.2957 .......and the fact that the owners must be selling it at a huge loss........... and why would they even sell.....................
@@theadmiral4625 I saw another video on it. The Russian billionaire owner died in 2014, but it was sold a year earlier to an unknown buyer for 15m (not shady at all) so even if it goes for under 45m, which is likely, it still won't be at a loss.
Coming from the neighborhood, I remember as kids, we always used to walk the grounds during the day or late at night and just mesmerize the crazy details this place has to offer. One of a kind masterpiece!! Also heard that the guest house is connected by underground tunnels
Dam u must be rich af if u lived on the same neighborhood as this house
Probobly used for trafficking...
Underground tunnels u say...damn, that is cool
Who built the property?
I wanna buy this house so badly just so I could do compete gutted renovation and save the beautiful outside from the monstrosity that is its interior
This.
This house is proof that money cannot buy taste.
Completely agree. The interior is a mess. That wall paper through out the house is so tacky. A case of to much money with no artistic direction.
@@bngr_bngr that... that isn't wallpaper...
@@bthull what do you think it is? Marble or paint?
This is the living embodiment of "f*ck you" money. Las Vegas casinos will look at this place and think "whoa, that's a little over the top."
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Remember that episode in atlanta with that bizarre guy with the egg? I feel he would feel right at home
This is the most bizarre house i've ever seen. The gardens are gorgeous, though; and i feel bad cause most of the stonework and mosaics are actually very intricate artisanal work and could be beautiful (albeit a little much for most people) if they weren't surrounded by SO. MUCH. CRAZINESS. There are a lot of elements that could be great in the right context -- but all of it together makes absolutely no sense. Plus the dollhouse/sea world pool is the most insane room i've ever seen.
I can’t even imagine the work you had to do behind the scenes to get permission and all of that so I applaud you for that work. It’s motivating!
he got the permission, because the owner has to make the buzz for this house, because the interior is just horrible and makes the house aboslutely unsellable.
@@patricec.2957 I only trust this comment because your name is Patrice.
This place has those "I'm going to be abandoned because no one in their right mind would buy this and left to rot" vibes.
I suspect this is the teardown price.
The dining room was gorgeous. I hope someone buys it and either makes it a retreat, maybe for couples, make it a museum, do weddings and parties, something but definitely do not tear it down. It's very very special. The tiny details were amazing. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
It may not be everyone’s taste but I really appreciate all the work that went into the inside. The details are amazing.
I love the Gatsby castle from the floor and up people nowadays just don’t have taste. They just like to sit in a basic modern apartment with led lights and call it wealth. What happened to the Golden years.. where houses like this were so legendary I love it all in fact I would love to have a house like that full of flowers! This Is My dream Place.
What a horror, as soon as they enter the house, you realize that having money does not mean having taste.
SO TRUE!!
.............still more tasteful than the uggo IKEA boxes Enes shows in Hollyweird and the rest of Loser Angeles...............
Spoken like a broke person........
@@mehbleh8135 No, spoken like a person with some modicum of taste.
@@mehbleh8135 🤣🤣🤣so people who don't like kitsch and this kind of horror are broke from your point of view.
I marveled at this home's exterior for years... and now I'm so disappointed. Ryan, you just dropped a few points of credibility with raving how amazing this is.
WoW! 💥 What an amazing piece of history and stunning views.
Was a little shocked to see such low ceilings on the ground floors, giving it the feelings as though the home will consume you, and all of your monies just on the up keeps alone. It should be turned into a Fancy Smancy 5 star hotel. Imagine having to AFFORD the huge staff, it would take to run this property.
I can't believe you are featuring this house! I tracked down the address using google earth and that bridge trying to find as much info as I could. Can't wait to watch!
Lovely as usual, more is better. Thank you for sharing. I can dream. So beautiful!!!
I love every square inch😂 Plz don't hate, I saw comments on the interior and couldn't disagree more. The whole property is art, a fantasy, stunning❤
i agree! the interior is so beautiful! at some times i feel like some of the pieces don’t go together and clashes but i love it
That’s sad
What in the world is going on in that lower level? Also interesting that they drained all the pools, emptied the tanks etc. the upkeep on this place must be insane
Most of you people dont understand what Elegacy really is. This house absolutely shows it in every aspect. This house is absolutely gorgeous inside and out.
I suppose this is what Ariel would move into on land if she won the powerball...
Spectacular, though I'm still giggling that the agent called it "homey"... 🤣
Like living in an acid trip. Who knew the bourgeoisie still existed.
Wondering how much a house like that costs monthly to operate and maintain? I was surprised to see low ceilings in many of the rooms you toured. I would expect something more of a taller height. Overall, interesting to view.
the grounds alone is probably 50-100k per month
well it has 5 floors, so that's the benefit of low ceilings
I’m convinced they did the interior this way to have great shroom trips
All I can say is the interior is "QUITE STUNNING"! Although, I did find the master suite and family room very beautiful and delicate, yet massive. Nonetheless, the exterior of the buildings and grounds are immaculately impressive.
WOW it's like being inside liberace's mind on acid absolutely mad it's horrendous all you can do is gut the place that's $100m right there nice try on making it look good ryan you did you're best 😁other then that it's great keep up with the videos
Ryan Serhant, I have a great idea for you. Contact all major museums in the World, starting with the ones close by, and try and sell them this house as a piece of art. Ryan, I am not kidding
The gardens are so breathtaking, the interior is a perfect example of money can't buy you taste
I love the interior personally. Not what I would pick, but that’s also why I like it because it’s a lot of very creative artwork and ideas that I myself would never think of
Visitors must be overwhelmed by a sense of inner calm when coming into this mansion...🤪
Absolutely magnificent property. I'm curious about everything this palace has witnessed within its walls
...............lots of sex, drugs, and murder........................ you can tell the owners don't like rock n roll....................
The cost of making the interior livable, may approach the asking price of the entire house.
one day gonna buy this mansion/castle. mark my words
Make way, Ryan has landed with another epic video!
The opening interior looks like Grandma went crazy with her floral prints in the early 80's or an earlier decade..most rooms are the definition of much too busy to the point...it's unsettling...best thing...the Tudor bones and the waterfront views....a lot of major and costly work for the Buyer.
Incredible. Some of it's over the top, but still amazing for parties and guests. My great-grandmother lived a few miles from there and I'd visit her growing up.
This house is incredible! I would keep every detail exactly how it is! Someone needs to buy it and turn it into a hotel or special events center. It would amazing to visit.
Agree. I would go to this hotel.
I would be on the balcony (seen in the final shots of this video) as an aviation geek, just watching the air traffic in and out of JFK airport. What a view!
You'd be looking at LaGuardia
@@danielbyrne983 Either way, still enjoying the planes. Thanks for the correction.
Wow....Just wow...I thought the Discovery channel founders mansion in Colorado was the coolest thing I seen but you outdone yourself Ryan....
This is an awesome video!
I absolutely loved this property inside and out. The amount of work that went into those tiles is breathtaking and they are stunning. It really does whisk you away to a paradise.
Always love your tours Ryan, and I know this property, always thought it looked beautiful, and it is..... from the outside, only.
DAMMNNNNNNN!!! AM I IN HEAVEN? 🤣🤣🤣 BRUH!! 🤣 Oh plus I'm watching your old series I found on Netflix which it makes me crazy! Finally I can watch Million Dollar Listing New York! Fredrick is so boastful! Like I'm very sorry for saying it! Bruh Ryan Serhant I love you so much! You're such a best and very serious type person, very strong! You're so McDreamy for sure just like in Grey's Anatomy! 🤣
The bottom floor was scarier than any dungeon could ever hope to be. What kind of creepy person came up with this?
honestly amazing property!
This breaks my heart and i can't unsee any of it. Absolutely stunning on the outside and a total WTF is going on on the inside.
Wow. This could have been a 3hr video. What an amazing place.
I cant wait to buy
Reminds me of the Great Gatsby with the Buchanan house across the river!
that's the point, it literally says it in the title
This one was beautiful 🤩❤️
A house from 100 years ago. A 2 meter tall man and a tall woman wearing high heels 100 years from now. It's their fault that the ceiling looks low.
Exterior 9/10
Interior -1/10
To me,the interior made the price tag fair. You'd have to spend atleast 40-50 mil to renovate/modernise it.
I am living the rest of my life out here. Thank you God for this
I can’t even begin to explain how TACKY this place is 🤯 Now I see why it was only shown from the outside… I guess we can always count on a Kardashian or a rapper to buy it. 😬
Makes me think of a cruise ship
@@ksjbsewjfi23u4oi I thought the same as soon as I saw the staircase: "It looks like a ship" (You know that's never a compliment!).
But they said everything is exquisite hahaha
yeah looks like what I imagine a brothel with different themes would look like. If it wouldn't be so extremly tacky and personalized I would imagine that the price for it would be higher
@@mrcapello HEY DON'T STEAL MY IDEA TO COPY ANDREW TATE
This home has been on my vision board for years under mega dream home. I thought it was over 150 Million. 45 million, not bad!
WoW, I really didn’t think hideous could be so well refined, nailed it!
The spa and play room are simply awe-inspiring.
The interior of this place makes Versailles look modest.
I can hardly believe that this house with this decoration dates from the time of Gatsby. The site, the exterior architecture, the land is magnificent. However, I would be unable to live in this house. Those ceramics all over the inside are stuffy, it's so busy. Gatsby is a novel character and never existed. A more modest house allows you to preserve millions and achieve many more achievements in a lifetime. It's a question of choices...
Now we are talking. This mansion is a awesome vibe. Thanks for the video Ryan and team. Sending you great energy from Miami Beach - Peter J Ancona
Exterior or interior
Because only one is good and the other is horrifying
Peter Ancona!!!
I kind of always knew I needed to see fish in order to take a proper dump, but thank you Ryan for letting me know what my bowels would not tell me.
This is a luxury palace, not a house, it is so beautiful!
It can also be said that the owner moved a European castle to New York!
I hope one day I get the chance to live there, I would love to spend my time in every corner of this castle!
You did a really great job again, thanks a lot for sharing!👍😄👏
Trust me, that’s not a European castle. It’s a mix of kitsch and over the top decorations. Not a single European Castle/palace/ mansion looks that ugly on the inside.
@@mauricemaenhout5320 Different people have different opinions, I believe many people will not agree with you, sorry for that!
no rich european has such a horrible taste, to find such a ugly and kitch decoration you have to go to Africa, even rich Russians or Chinese have better taste to decorate their mansion.
@@giannishen that's NOT an opinion, it's a fact! This ain't no European castle... a lot of great craftmanship but badly put into context.
Definitely NOT a European castle. Full stop.
Got to know you Ryan Serhant through your interview with Grant Cardone🙂 You gave me great inspirations. Thanks for sharing all this on UA-cam👍👍
You’d never need to go Vegas if you buy it just go downstairs 😂
Shit is badass. Bunch of people commenting about the interior love their bland tiny apartments. This is opulence and uniqueness at its best.
Truly a tribute to the times it was created in, unlike the bullshit minimalist trash that gets built today
imagine being trapped in that house on psychedelics
Stunning inside and out❤️
I dare say the magnificence and historical overtones of this interior will be lost on most modern Americans. Maybe a European owner would appreciate... and maybe even then.
Beautiful Exterior House! Interior is a ABSOLUTE GUT!!
This is a classic example of the owner not knowing when to quit. Just because one can spend the money doesn't mean they should. The exterior is littered with gaudy yard "tchotchkes" and the interior is a nightmare. I can only imagine what the original 1920's interior looked like. It's a shame it's gone. Did anyone else pick up on Ryan's comment about how the new owner could build their own palace here (implying the property would most likely be gutted).
Beautiful! Thanks, for sharing! :)
I loved how they tried to find positive things to say. Only a blind person could appreciate this.
This is beyond hideous!
Very beautiful classic house. It’s definitely worth 45 million.
Oh geezus 😂😂😂 the gaudy interior and everyone’s hilarious comments lol. The main problem with these mega mansions is that they are never updated and renovated. They live in a time warp because it’s just too much money to update homes of this size. In my opinion, something on a more manageable size where you can continually update the property is the way to go. Though if you’re completely lacking in taste, not even continual refurbishment will save ya!
Magnificent peace of art ..
But I have a serious question .. Why do all toilet seats look like they have been brought from the $ store !? 😴🤦🏻♂️
The interior is a monumental blunder.
Whoever buys this is going to spend $15MM or more to fully gut remodel this place
The doll house is SCARY
This has to be the first 40 million dollar home I'd agree is worth it.
*OMG* GORGEOUS PROPERTY!
the interior of the estate is a riot.
This is my dream home, I watch it daily. I love it as is, and I come back to watch it daily. The comment’s simply remind me that one persons joke is another persons dream. 😅 I love this home!
Exterior is magnificent. The interior is a gut job.
Outstanding spectacular level of craftsmanship. So much to see and overwhelming with all the details. Breathtaking. Not my style at all, but it is definitely nothing you can build again. 45 Million is a huge number, but it seems it's a bargain in that location with all the costs for labor and material. It's like an old frech chateau. Chapeau.
Sorry, but most French chateaus have style, this is just pure overload.
@@AMK190768 That is true, indeed. I wouldn't buy it it even if I had the money. It is not my style at al, but I am impressed with the craftsmanship in every detail.
French chateau's are not that tacky. It's fake and a complete eyesore. Even Liberace had more taste.
@@AndyNC Well, fine to hear you are honest about it
looks like your viewers all loved it
some comments says inside is horrifying but for me it looks very classy and yea right homey, proves we all have different taste.

THE HOUSE IS AMAZING
Oh my goodness I love it ! Yes Gatsby ❤
It’s like Jerry Clower designed the interior
