UA-cam is clawing back revenue due to invalid views. Invalid views are BOTS, paid views and people that just let playlists play all day long without any interaction. These are against youtube guidelines. Please don't add videos to playlists and let them play all day as it doesn't help anyone out. They can detect these and any revenue generates is clawed back and advertisers are not billed.
That really sucks because I often have your videos on for long periods while I work on other stuff and I would consider those views valid! I mean advertisers still pay the tv networks to broadcast their commercials even though the audience could very well be on the toilet. Have you considered adding some Amazon affiliate links for some of the tools you use? I guess you could always shill for skillshare or some vpn lol!
@@slowmotion-songs the problem is many UA-camrs would get their friends to do this or set up second computers at their premise on a second router pulling a seperate ip, or pay view farms for to run their videos to inflate numbers. The whistle blower that promotes as blockers opened their eyes. Woke the sleeping giant. Next thing they will be clamping down on is channels that embed advertising i to their video as that is right in the terms of service as one of the things that you are not supposed to do.
Dave, God bless you! You fixed my camcorder sitting on another continent. I followed your troubleshot procedure, in the order you showed here, and I applied the stickers exactly as you showed. After solving the initial problem with the basket closing switch, I concluded from everything you described that it must be a problem with the edge-connector. I took the camera apart so much that at one point I thought that no one would ever put it back together. Basically, just like you said, the main problem with the sony camera is the edge connector. And that's exactly the one that comes from the back of the printed circuit board. The problem in my case is that the small plastic part on the connector, which serves as a support on the back side of the plastic strip - the glue that holds it just fell apart. It was probably the glue that made a mess of it and caused the lack of contact. I carefully cleaned everything and first put the connector-strip in the socket, and then I gently pushed that small plastic support that holds it on the back. Once again, thank you very much, you have great videos. And now I have a camcorder in working condition and I can transfer old recordings. P.S since you've already started with short camcorder tutorial videos, it would be interesting to hear your advice about edge-connectors, how and with what to clean them, whether there is a way to repair them if they get damaged, etc. greeting
That pinch roller retainer can fall off completely and then the pinch roller falls off, landing somewhere in the mechanism or being lost completely. Common problem on some Digital 8 models from Sony. Tape chewing can also be due to a defective pinch roller, and replacements are nearly impossible to find.
Hi, I've learned a lot through your videos. I have a Sony CCD-TR700. It hadn't been used for years and was either unsuccessful in ejecting a tape or very sluggish. Over a period of time loading and unloading it seems to have loosened up to operate pretty well. My problem is that once it loads a tape any function (FF, REW, Play) only kicks in for a second and then stops. It is like the machine is sensing a problem. When I hit play the tape will play with both reels turning but only for about one revolution then it stops. Same with FF and RR. The machine jumps into that mode and then immediately stops. There is never any loose tape or any signs of a jam. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I've a canon uc8hi which won't play cassettes. The drum just spins out and the cassette is then ejected. You mentioned about the edge connector... Any advice on a work around??
I have a CCD-V110 that has a tape stuck inside and it won't eject. I'm guessing the loading belt? I also have an 8mm Canon VM-E1 which shuts down after like a second of playing/recording. I did look at the schematic and there are a set of LED/phototransistors for each reel. Would it be more likely to be the phototransistor or the LED? Like you said before it might be a reel sensor issue. Canon stuff was usually crap but the VM-E1 was before the capacitor plague and it actually has a lot of Sony ICs on the boards, so it might have been partly designed by Sony.
The capacitor plague started after the CCDV110. It like the V8 and V8AF used through hole caps. I have a V110 but it has the foggy IR cut filter over the CCD and I just don't feel like taking it all apart to get the filter out and cleaning it off like I did on my old GCS1 Betamovie. It is a completely different transport. It is a U loading mechanism like that home deck I have. Exactly the same as betamax and 3/4" umatic. The 8mm changed to the M loading system after this model. They have their own issues that cause loading issues.
the v110 has no belt only gears , its stuck possibly because of rancid grease or a mangled tapeguide loading gear. the photo sensors usually never go bad , only bad capacitors can happen.. as for the vm-e1 , it does have bad caps no doubt. dave doesnt do those "relics" anymore , only semi modern plastic bombers. ;D *dcr-trv. urks..
@@Dr.-Smart I checked the service manual and there is a loading belt and a "timing" belt on the V110. There's even photos of the mechanism in the service manuals there's no doubt that it has a belt
Hey! I have a sony handyman giving me problems. It worked fine and i even saw 1 tape but then for other tapes i have it stop working. First it letting out all the tapes i put in and gave me an error code and now the tape compartment wont even close so can you help me please!
I absolutely love how mechanically brilliant these things are. It's a shame the video quality for today's standards kind of sucks. The thing I want to ask is, why do people use these in the present day? I found one in the trash a while ago and kept it so i could take it apart and pull out some components that are useful. After it sat around collecting dust, i was just curious how much it sold for back in the day so I googled it and saw that it's still being sold on eBay, there were a couple of them listed for like 70 bucks. Think I'm going to throw mine up for sale and see if it sells but i keep wondering why would people buy one of these anymore?
I sold 2 Sony hi8 cameras for 200 each over the past few months. Some buy them just to transfer old footage and others want to record for whatever reasons. I wouldn't use tape for any recordings these days.
Just got one again and the tape loading goes down half way then stops, then goes in the remainder and it sits in properly. Weird. Yours seems to take the tape in all at once.
I have a jvc gr c1. It loaded a tape once then never again. It thinks the tape is not loaded. I checked the loading motor and seems fine. Any tips re this old vhsc mechanism?
That I don't know because the person that gave it to me ripped it apart to get their home porn tape out before they brought it to me to ask me to put it together. Parts were missing so they said keep it.

I don't clean them with anything just move them that clears the resistance fault.
Thanks a lot, that was a real lesson. best regards form Florence Italy

Usually it cracks and then falls off.

Vhsc mechanisms are a nightmare.
Thanks I am tending to agree. I have a c2 to compare with as deck seems similar.
how do you remove that cover on this sharp camcorder ?

I have a cannon mycam view finder 98 sca30 videocamera 8 320x zoom cant figure out how it records its works fine though thank nice informative video
