First time I've ever heard the name Dick Powell, and I gotta say... I'm charmed. I hold this song dearly to "me" heart, and Dick here made "her" glam. My favorite number of this tune from now on, even better than eddie cantor's!
This in nice to see but there was a film that came out that same year that included the singing of this song in a crowded bus or train car that just can't be beat! That was the classic movie It Happened One Night. One of my favorite all-time movies and that "sing-along" scene is one you must see.

It's supposed to be, "And my love he purloined away." Purloined is funnier.
