I dont know why the link is not working, it might be my connection, firewall or something else.
But I would appreciate if you checked if the source is still available because I would like to get the Go CheatSheet.

This guy (Wallace who runs this channel) literally disappeared. He even sold a "golang bootcamp" for 500 dollars, but that website is no longer online. His discord is gone as well. His youtube is inactive. He dropped off the face of the earth.

But in all seriousness, they do take a lot of work 😢

I really respect your videos and have watched many. I am a lead engineer that has worked remotely for 8 to 10 years at start ups and large corporations. I disagree with a few of your points. I will try and formulate some thoughts over the next few days and respond after watching your video a couple more times. On site teams are not more efficient just less disciplined. :)

Amazing how your experience mirrored a lot of my first experience as a tech lead! For me getting internal feedback from stakeholders was never mentioned when discussing my new role nor did I expect to have to do the duties of the project manager as well despite having a 'delivery manager'. I assumed that the delivery manager would do that part but that was a pretty big mistake. From my experience the phrase "it's easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission" really holds true even when you are in a critical project like I was. The key is to have regular demo's/updates where you can show the progress. Anyway I hope the project wasn't too stressful, it can be really rewarding definitely if you involve yourself more into the people's side of things and want to coach/mentor others.

Hey man, great content! The best go channel i can think of. I would love u to do more web related vdeos, maybe exploring in more depth the net/http package and/or gin, echo, fiber etc. I think there is a lack of quality content on them and a lot of videos are just very basic.

All that you said was good. I will give you another advise:
The Sprint Reviews and Demos are your friends. If you would have been force to deliver value in a sprint bases (bi-weekly for example) you would be forced to cut corners and get to the point where you ended up but sooner. Believe it or not, it looks like you felt into a kind of waterfall approach... three month of planning is by far TOO MUCH!, you should started by just one or two weeks of planning and start from there, and then sprint by sprint adjust your architecture to the desired result. DDD also would help you here, you could start soon by defining the domain, the db is a detail that you could address later, if needed, that in your cases "later" was never.

It would be very interesting to get your perspective on a "best practice" set up of a Go web project or API. Not just a run-trough of popular modules, but more of how you prefer to structure your repo and code. If you were given the task to set up a new repo for, say a REST API, in Go. Which would be the 10 first steps you always do? I hope you keep making videos, you are doing a good job!

Hi, I would love to hear from you, as someone with a lot of experience in Golang, do you think SOLID Principles important in practice, and in interviews? Would I be asked a lot of questions, and how would I go about that, considering that SOLID Principles are mostly OOP concepts, and Golang is not a real OOP language. I am also curious about the same for design patterns like Builder, Factory pattern etc

Do not take tech leader role, it sucks for many many reasons! Every words you said in this video is not worth the effort you put from your life to the company at all!
