      @@IMaKing80 Wilder has gassed before, but I will say Fury had a lot to do with Wilder gassing. The body shots, the grappling in the clinch vs a much heavier, stronger guy, Fury making Wilder miss (nothing more tiring than missing shots)... All that takes a heavy toll.
      That said, I disagree the reason Wilder lost was "just" because he ran out of gas. Wilder was technically inferior from the get-go, and was missing repeatedly and being caught and out-manoeuvred constantly. Wilder could've been the fittest HW on the planet and would still lose to Fury. He's just not good enough technically.

      That knock down in round 3 took Wilder's legs away.

      @@shinske3564 That's because fighting with a weight disadvantage is killer. Look at what happened to Stipe the second Ngannou fight. First fight the difference was about 15lbs, and they went toe to toe as equals. The second fight, Stipe was 13lbs lighter and Ngannou 17lbs heavier, making the difference too great. Stipe got nowhere wrestling him, and his shots didn't have the same stopping power anymore. Got run over.
      And as a matter of fact, despite them being different sports the same happened here and in the second fight. Wilder just waned over time under that strength, mass and power.

      @@TheStraightestWhitest honestly not getting the praise for Malik. He came in with the wrong gameplan. He had Wilder come in heavy and focus on power shots to the body for the first 3 rounds...ensuring wilder was gassed by the fourth. Fury was fresh first 3 rounds...its not like he's not going to see wilder loading up on power shots...its why the mostly missed the target. Bad game plan all around.

    • @TheStraightestWhitest
      @TheStraightestWhitest 2 роки тому +2

      @@bleachedsmiles5570 Those weren't power shots to the body. They were jabs to force Fury to back up. Wilder can't fight backwards, so Malik made a game plan to make sure he wouldn't have to.
      Now if Fury was healthy, had a good camp, and had functioning elbows, it wouldn't have worked. But until Wilder tired, it did. Wilder was able to fight his own fight for 4-5 rounds. That should be all he needed.
      The problem wasn't that the plan was bad. The problem was that he was fighting Tyson Fury. No heavyweight in history could've come in this badly prepared and this injured and won that fight against this version of Wilder.

    Wilder has a lot to learn from this. Wilder needs to cut some of that weight off, work on his stamina and work on defense and head movement. Finally he needs to listen to his coaches when he's boxing. He wasn't listening to his coaches during the fight, while Fury was. I don't want to see Wilder retire yet. I want him to box AJ next.
