100% my friend , i’m Palestinian and I agree with you 100%. I pray for peace and I pray that the Muslims and Jews can live peacefully as they did for hundreds of years.
As Ali Abunimah said a couple of months ago - like a gambling addict on a really bad losing streak, and instead of doing the sensible and rational thing by quitting, doubles and triples down in the hope of a miraculous win.
It’s more than that. It gets whatever it wants from the US and is completely shielded of any accountability. It’s a recipe for hubris of its worst kind. How else could they kill and steal in broad daylight in such a massive scale?
Maybe its' a way to change the subject to show the illusion of its advancement. No one will ever look at Israel the same. The word "Israel" makes people cringe now a days.
You are right Alon, I have been trying to understand the reason behind this stubbornness to open new conflicts and drag everybody into it...I think Israel is caught between its arrogance and dominance spiral and can't come to terms with its failures but this is life ..nothing lasts what goes up must come down.
It’s not stubbornness; it’s hubris. It’s what happens when you’re the emperor’s favorite son. You face no accountability for all your misdeeds and on top of that you still get whatever cool toys you want.
Dear Alon, I hope you are right. But I think you are a kind man and you believe most people are as kind as you. I say this because last evening I was with one of my sisters. She lives far from me so I don't talk to her very often. Her son married a lady from Iran and talking about Gaza, she just naturally repeated what her daughter-in-law said: that nobody wants Palestinians because they are "trouble makets" wherever they go. It broke my heart. But I love to hear your take, it gives me hope and your voice is very soothing. So I am glad YT put you on my path.😊❤
The background of this often-repeated sentiment by American-Persians: the 1978-79 Iranian Revolution, the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, and the interventions of Fatah, one of the main secular Palestinian political/military factions in the politics of Lebanon and Jordan (the most famous incident being Black September though I believe that coup attempt in Jordan against its king involved yet another Palestinian faction, which was Marxist -- aka the PFLP for short). The majority of American-Persians living in the US are refugees from the Iranian Revolution and usually /HATE/ the Iranian government and most connections to religion, Islam especially, because of the group of religious fanatics propelling the Iranian Revolution and because the revolution led to the dispossession of the American-Persians' lands, wealth, and assets in Iran. Many American-Persians and their families who fled to the US in 1979 hailed from the upper class and lost assets because of the 'religious' hierarchy, and many had family members jailed or executed or disappeared. Consequently, they tend to distrust Islam and also harbour resentment toward Arabs in general mostly because of the looooong Iran-Iraq war and any identification to Islam (that's another topic, another day whether the Iranian mullahs actually represent Islam, so yeah). Fast forward to now, successive Iranian governments like to claim they sympathize and support Palestinians. In reality, Iranian governments don't really provide that much support - maybe some to Hamas (at least our media in the US says!) -- but almost nothing to Palestinian people. Palestinians, on their part, actually mistrust the Iranian government -- they fear an importation of a similar kind of government because it is anti-democratic to them. The irony is that American-Persians might actually share some commonalities with Palestinians but when do they ever get to meet each other and talk? Contrary to what's often repeated in US media, most Gazans did not vote for Hamas. Most Gazans did not even vote in the 2006 elections, the last time these were held in Gaza - but I think it was about 20-25% who did go vote and of THAT small figure, 44% voted for Hamas and 41% voted for Fatah, another but secular group. Unfortunately, mainstream US media often cites the 44% as if it were all of Gaza's population (and again, excluded the West Bank) but this claim is flat out wrong. Palestinians, in general, prefer a secular government -- no one wants a fundamentalist or Islamist or extremist religious government.
@@sagapoetic8990 very well put together to explain the reality and the history of it, and with No bs... make me feel with lots of hope when I know that some people in us are intelligent enough to research and put it together with open mind and open heart... thank you
@@sagapoetic8990 Thank you for that. I am actually Canadian. Many people are blaming Turkey and they are partially correct. But I feel that Turkey didn’t want this to happen right now and is caught in an awkward position and even publicly denying it. This has Netanyahu/Israel written all over it, especially with just after the ceasefire and threatening Assad. We will see more escalation and likely assassination attempts on Assad. Truly aligned with your earlier video of Israel having to always “show dominance”. The latter includes deliberate violations of ceasefire in Lebanon and I think an attempt to embarrass the clown Erdogan for all his earlier fiery fake rhetoric. Overall, Israel is opening too many cans of worms and will get a heavy reckoning soon.
There is absolutely no way that Turkey didn’t know what was happening and wasn’t heavily involved in the planning and logistics of this attack in Syria.

It's occurring to me that the U.S. , having lost hegemony, now views the creation of instability as an asset.
Great take as always, Alon 👍
