I really like these pinball-breakout hybrids. Underrated genre IMO, and I like how this has some more aesthetic than the others even if it isn't that detailed.
According to wikipedia: the bizzare name Cutie Q comes from a song called Susie Q, which got a cover by Creedence Clearwater Revival, a band Toru Iwatani (one of the designers) was a fan of. Kinda strange considering how it’s a breakout clone with no significant cutesy features. Probably weren’t too serious on naming back in the day IDK.
