I just got myself 2 amaryllis. Not new to outdoor gardening with flowers and food but new to amaryllis.... what is the difference in planting the amaryllis and waxing? Also, when the wax is removed does it have roots or do those develop later? I'm scared to cut the roots off lol
Hi there! The wax envelopes the bulb- it has all it needs within the waxed surface. No water, zero care! Just indirect sunlight. When you remove the wax and plant it, it will develop roots. Enjoy- it’s such a wonderful flower!!
Great question! I have not experimented with that….yet! I don’t think the color will be as saturated, but it’s worth a try! Thank you for watching and happy holidays!
Thank you for sharing. I, too, love amaryllis, but I did not know you could diy waxed amaryllis. This is a game changer!
You’re very welcome! Happy crafting! 😊

Can I use food coloring in the melted wax instead of paint?
