Thank you so much! ❤️
Excellent!
Thank you!
DJ is probably the best at showing & explaining how to tie knots and as a bonus, you get examples of their practical use out in the field or bush! A big 👍🏻 from me!
Love how you give info & examples for each knot.
Thx!!! Glad it helps!
An exceptional compilation you've created for us here; much appreciation for your time and work.
Thanks so much!! I know it’s nothing too too new for those that follow all my vids, but glad everyone can at minimum get a refresher :)
There are many wonderful people that explain these knots but I don't know why I mostly understand them from your videos! Thank you! You are great and you should do an audio book as another comment said ❤
Your videos are awesome, man. I am a commercial fisherman and these would have saved me a lot of headache (and embarrassment!) back when I was a greenhorn. Thanks for what you do!
This is absolutely one of those videos to download or save!
Now seeing the links in the pinned comment - - looks like there are a bunch of essential ones to view.
What a treasure trove of great information.
i was looking for a good tutorial on knots. watched a few but yours are definitely my favorite, clear and concise instructions, easy to understand, good explanations on where the knots are useful, and fun variations to learn as well. thank you!
Question have you ever thought of creating a Video Book where your bundle these videos together. I love how you demonstrate each knot and how it used. But if I had a video book I could look up a knot that I would need base on my situation. Not sure how the market would accept it, but I feel if you could say upload this to your phone and you can carry with you. I would purchase it. I think anyone who goes out doors would use it. Just a thought great videos thanks.
This is a fantastic idea.
I’m working on a booklet right now, followed by a larger book and then I think I’ll actually consider this idea!! Thank you so much!
@TheBearEssentials Good Luck!!!
@@TheBearEssentialsI will certainly want to get this for sure!
Great channel. One thing I did notice. When you were tying the truckers hitch. If you pass the working end through the loop twice, when you apply tension the hitch will bit and no tension will be lost. Great channel, keep up the good work. Im Grant from Cornwall UK.
Excellent work. Your videos are always visually pleasing. 😃👍
Thank you!
Thank you so much for such an easy to follow, comprehensive guide to the essential knots needed for day to day use
You’re very welcome!!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Just found this channel and subscribed. Great info, keep it up.
The second knot is... very... nice...
Niiiiiiiice

Thank you DJ! Always great to hear from you my friend 🙂God Bless 🙏Appreciate you!👊👍
Always look forward to seeing you comment here!! Thank you!!
@TheBearEssentials Thank you DJ! 👍
Saved!!!! ❤ and shared too!
I absolutely love your channel! I've learned so much from you. Love the way you explain the knot s & you articulate so well that it's very easy to understand. Keep up the good work..😊
Thanks for the info on nodes. Will be useful during bicycle trips!)))
Awesome!! Glad it helps!
a very enjoyable adventure, enjoying the cool mountain air
❤❤❤ merci 😊
Nice dj your videos are the best step by step directions your awesome bro. Life time subscriber this guy is the best by far.
Thx Steve. Just working on some bigger projects so I figured id post this compilation for anyone new here!
@@TheBearEssentials your the man bro.
Best video)
Its illegal to be this early
But it deserves a pin
You have a great channel man! I'm a Pathfinder School student but I've definitely picked it a tip and trick from you!
Oh nice, those guys are very knowledgeable. Dave has one of my Bucksaws and I’ve read all his books.
Love your stuff but PLEASE record in "LANDSCAPE"
👍😎
Dj, I really enjoy your instruction.
Question, I know that in one of your videos you detail what kind of cordage you take on a typical camp. But I can’t remember which video it is and I don’t have time to watch each one again. Can you guide me to the right video? I am purchasing my various cordage. and I thought this was helpful.
Hey Joel!
Sure it’s in one of my silent long form videos - 3 days bushcraft by the river.
In January, I’m releasing my own cordage that I use personally. In some neat bundles so you can test out the different types for yourself before purchasing them in bulk or whatnot.
It’s difficult to find the right cordage because each supplier has different levels of quality for example. So I’m trying to make it simple.
If you’re grabbing some stuff right now, that video has the different types I use and what lengths I generally bring out !
@@TheBearEssentials I am really grateful that you took the time to reply. I will rewatch and take note.
It is tough with so many grades of manufacturing out there; I’ll take my chances. Luckily it’s not for climbing but rather things like my ridge line and less life supporting tasks.
I have an idea for you. How do you hang your food bag in a tree?
Yes I don’t have a video up now but the best method is called PCT method if you google it
Absolute banger as always, thank you man. Gotta save this for the next time I'm out camping.
Rolling hitch vs taught line hitch - what’s better for what? Thanks!
Rolling hitch is better for attaching onto a separate line.
Taut line is for wrapping around something and back onto itself.
This is where it gets a tad confusing, but you can also do the rolling hitch around something and back onto itself, but then it’s name is the “midshipman’s hitch” and it performs the same as the taut line and even a bit more secure
just realised ive been wearing a prusik hitch around my wrist for years not sure how i feel about this
👍🙏
If you wanted to have all your tarp tie outs one length would 10 ft of paracord for each tie out be a good estimate. Thanks for your videos.
Hey, I personally go with 6ft.
I’m releasing a tarp bundle soon with all the sizes you’re going to need :)
Thanks@@TheBearEssentials

Doesn't that waste paracord on the ends if you start at the half of your rope
Comment
OwO
You really need only three knots: Constrictor ; Bowline ; Truckie's Hitch (NOT the Trucker's Hitch).
That's it!
All other knots do the same thing as one of these three knots.
