    Incredible stuff, congrats on this module design already! Really liked this demo. I don't have Eurorack myself but I have an AE Modular system (which is a small modular system running on 5V).
    I figure this module would be possible to run on a single 5V supply range when looking at the BOM, would of course need some tweaks & some components swapped out. Interesting stuff!!

      Thank you! I think running the module on a single supply of 5V should definitely be possible, at a first skim over the details you'd have to swap out the TL07X op-amps for ones made for lower supply voltages, and probably alter the input stage to get the proper range. I might actually work on writing documentation for a 5V version so if you have any luck please let me know or share it on the subreddit!

    Hi Got 6 Picos and 3 boxes of interesting i c's and the usual stuff .And I just scored a 15-015V xfmr @10A from an old hifi amp boat-anchor which I blew up Doldby/ DTS 7.1 surround .thank god 4 ebay . but found you an a random arty site a year ago when you were starting to tinker.But 7 months in hospital over 3 visits slowed me down. but now can start .found you can use Arduino sckethes via a converter program from Arduino. And I will be using veroboard,used it since the 60's now thats given my age away,ha.Well Done and thanks from an old git.

    This is awesome. I bought the PCB, Panel with OLED off of Thonk a few months ago. There's such a wealth of community scripts available. I would love to see some in depth programming tutorials centred around button assignment and the oled display.

      Any info on where to find the available scripts for EuroPi? Most prospective users of a module like this aren't programmers, and there's nothing obvious on the Allen Synthesis webpage or the Github listing the available scripts, and what they do. The only scripts I know of are ConSequencer & 6 Multiwave LFO, due to there being youtube videos about them.

    This is so awesome! Really looking forward to getting my hands on this! How do you have it connected to usb inside your rack? Did you just weave the cable out the side somewhere off camera?

    • @AllenSynthesis
      @AllenSynthesis 2 роки тому +2

      Thanks! In this demo the cable just goes through the inside of my rack, but I'm currently working on an expander that will give you front access USB-B, as well as external reset and bootsel switches

    Does it also work with the pico w?
    I could see a eurorack that responds to some feed of the internet, or be programmable without using a USB cord

    • @AllenSynthesis

      It would work just the same with a Pico W as it has the same pinout. A WiFi enabled EuroPi would open up a lot of opportunities, there is discussion in the Discord community about programming wirelessly so if you're interested then I'd definitely join in with that!

    Very cool! Exciting stuff. So its 1 gate in, 1 analog in, and 6 analog CV outs? What's the sample rate of the analog input? Is it suited for processing audio?

    • @AllenSynthesis
      @AllenSynthesis 2 роки тому

      Yup, that's it! From my experiments the analogue input can (with Python) only just process fast enough to get anything like audio. It works well with lower frequency sounds or simpler waves, but if you try to process more harmonically rich sounds it can sound very bitcrushed. Python (and this module) really isn't made for audio processing, but perhaps if someone comes up with a version of the firmware that uses C++, the hardware is certainly capable!

    How can I get my hand on PCB / kit?

      @AllenSynthesis 2 роки тому +1

      I'm expecting the PCBs to be ready (all the current issues fixed) and ready to sell by the end of the year. The mailing list in the description or the subreddit are the best place to be notified as soon as they're available!

      @@AllenSynthesis is this circuit python or micro python?

    • @AllenSynthesis
      @AllenSynthesis 2 роки тому

      I'm using MicroPython for all of my programs, but of course there's no reason why it couldn't all be done in CircuitPython! The module is essentially a 'HAT', just adding extra hardware, so in theory you could even do it all in C if you wanted, I'm just focusing on Python as it's the most intuitive

    Is there such a thing as bare-metal Sonic Pi? (Well it’d be bare fibreglass)
