The guy who goes for the expensive items that would cost more in another place - smart The guy who is trying to literally cutting his food to shreds so he doesn't have to waste energy chewing... I think we know who the loser is there
exactly! the amount of profit the companies are making as well through buying the cheapest, dirtiest and most unhealthy ingredients, all pumped with chemicals and preservatives.
You go to a place like this maybe once a month at most. You fill your plate with a little bit of everything, just little tasters. When you’ve been at work all week, this is one way to enjoy life if you love food. People need to lighten up.
I wouldn't call any of this food -- and anyone who actually loves food would agree with me. It's greasy cheap processed beige crap. And the problem is that people don't just get "little tasters", they gorge themselves. People in the west are eating themselves to death, and it's disgusting. There are millions of people who simply can't control themselves, have no self-discipline, and are practically encouraged by places like this to treat their bodies like garbage.
Liam Graham spot on. It's also part of our human condition to eat when there is food about. These places tap into behaviour that is instinctive. Always best to avoid them and visit an establishment that dolls out your portions.
Liam Graham then you’ve never been to one. The one I go to has fresh fish that’s cooked in front of you, fillet steak and sushi and masses of salad etc.

Dont go to a buffet to eat expensive food, just enjoy whatever you want. I dont understand that poor mindset to always be that cheap, at the end they are frozen cheap food, so you won nothing.
exactly. If you think about it, Fast food isnt that much cheaper, but you get a much smaller quantity. Its more shameful at this point since youre trying to get 4 more dollars worth of food.
I've been to one of these places once and it was pretty bad. All the food was sub par versions of what you'd get at a regular restaurant. And my friend had the mentality of "eat as much as possible" which just sounds unpleasant to me, leaving a restaurant feeling sick and bloated is a bit daft. Going to a restaurant and having a nice meal, with sensible portion sizes is superior in every way for me.
What I like about buffets is that I can try many more dishes than in regular restaurants, but that means a little bit of different things not stuffing myself. On the matter of quality you usually get what you pay for, there are better and worse buffets.
I put on my own body weight watching this. It's absolutely horrifying watching people eat so much! What I also don't understand is that if they're just going to throw away the food, why not donate it? I can imagine they're in a city so there's bound to be plenty of homeless people they can give it to so they can have some food for the night. Maybe I'm just looking too much into it, but it's such a huge waste.
to my understanding there is a lot of health and legal concerns that scare away restaurants (i did some research over it but i am by no means an expert)
Since the food is exposed to browsing customers and things like fungal spores in the air, it's treated as contaminated at the end of the work day since they can no longer predict the shelf life of it so to speak. Also if they did give it away and someone became sick after eating it, the restaurant would be legally responsible, which isn't a good price to pay for charitable action as a business. You can bet the staff too think it's awful having to throw it away, but they do it out of necessity and not laziness.
@@Lien6887 I'm pretty sure that it would be good for another 3-4 hours though. Just have someone from a soup kitchen pick up the food at the end of the day - tadaaaa, no waste (or at least as little as possible) and homeless people actually get to enjoy different types of food too.
Exactly! and majority of the world has nothing to eat on their plate, or have very little unbalanced diet, while Americans and Europeans steal and take their food away to throw it into garbage like this. It's not fair! Most of that food is imported too.
There should be legislation that orders the distribution of unsold food to the homeless. Most homeless are veterans who offered their lives for their country!!

Food is meant to be savoured SLOWLY... NOT shovelled in mindlessly with a glazed look on the face. Imagine the pain and discomfort from overeating, let alone the numerous consequences to their struggling bodies. This type of culture gravely miseducates children on the importance of quiet, appreciative, moderated consumption. Can you imagine the waste?! Particularly when millions go hungry every day. Good god, it’s repulsive and disrespectful in so many ways.
" food is meant to be savoured SLOWLY..." Who? How did you come to that conclusion? Based on what? Does it actually meant to be savoured slowly????? I don't see any definitive answer or any right/wrong way to eat food...
While I *CHOOSE* to eat slowly, how in the world do you come up with "Food is *meant* to be savoured SLOWLY"? Besides you, who says it's "meant" to be "savoured SLOWLY"? Isn't that just your opinion and personal choice? I imagine ancient humans ate all they could when they got their hands on food. Eating expeditiously and as much as we want to feel satisfied, has long been in our DNA. Some of us choose to eat smaller amounts slowly for health reasons, but to use the word "meant" is just silly. And "quiet, appreciative, moderated consumption"? I bet your Thanksgivings/holidays and weddings are quite dull. You might want to skip much of western Europe's family gatherings where loud, exciting, festivals of delicious food and talkative family gatherings occur on a regular basis.
Hate to say it, liability is why they don't. In the USA, restaurants stopped giving out leftovers because a homeless guy got sick and then sued the restaurant to the stone age.
Whats the point of trying to outsmart the restaurant owner of an all-you-can-eat buffet like this? Clearly you are choosing foods that are „most expensive“, rather than the ones you would find satisfying. Also it seems unfair to me to just order water. Everyone knows that restaurants try to balance out via beverages. These guys are normal people who probably want to pay their staff fair wages and ensure the wellbeing of their families. Can’t see a ripp off with paying 10 quit for this much choice of food and another 10 for drinks. Seriously..,🙄
I agree with everything but the water issue. Some people dont or cant drink soda. In my case, i might get unsweetened tea but depending on the brand, sometimes the tea is so nasty or lemonade is just awful so i get water.

I must say that the buffet food shown in this show is far better than any buffet offering I’ve ever seen here in eastern Canada... every bit of meat you get here is battered and fried and coated in some gloopy sauce... very few vegetables on offer other than bean sprouts and stir fry veg that’s 80% celery... and the prices here are absolutely foolish for what you get!! Honestly if they had decent selection and less hoppy sauce that all tastes he same, and reduced the foolish price, I might be more inclined to eat at a buffet

we do things to the environment which are worse than wasting food.
the thing that bothers me, is that on nights when business is slow they throw away the food. that' such a waste, why don't local places like that team up with local homeless outreach programmes so that the food could go to people who really need it? the restaraunt loses profits no matter where the food goes, so it's no skin off their nose to help people out
our local chinese buffet puts theirs up on an app called 2good2go and they'll give you a carton for £3 and you can go in and fill it up with what ever and go home with it.
That would be much more positive indeed.
And who told u that? They dont throw it away. They give to orphan homes or old age homes. They have connections. Dont be a fool. This is 2018.
It depends on local law. I used to go to a church that received leftovers from local McDonald's and KFC for lunch after service. But they couldn't get food from buffets as it is "unwrapped and potentially harmful" as it was sitting out so long already. Utter BS actually.
But that is the USA's FDA for you.

"I'll have a tap water"... yeah, way to go bro. You really showed him.

I might be the only one but I love the narrator. haha
Haha well I'm at least with you on that 😂 he makes it so much funnier!
It,s Johnny Vegas,a very funny comedien in the UK.
me too
Veronika I think he’s funny.
So obnoxious. Unbearable.
That's overconsumption at it's finest. The sad thing is, they are not only doing this on the costs of the owner, but also on the costs of the poor animals. Consumerism is just awful...
I got diabetes from watching this.
Type 1 or 2?
In addition to obesity and cancer.
Matthew lmao😂😂 1 or 2, dead
@@matthew6994 Neither. I have Type 3 diabetes.
Type 3 diabetes is a new form, discovered in 2016 called YDDM: UA-cam-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus.
@@queenofshadow7912 You mean to answer type 2, which is lifestyle related
Manaj is a real one. Also looks like he would give the best hugs.
Isn’t that illegal to say it is seaweed if it is cabbage? What if you are allergic to cabbage ...
Jonny1000 yep you can be allergic to pretty much anything these days...especially MSG which is supposed to be illegal in Australia but people still use it.
@@curlyyasmin181 MSG is natural in some foods. There's nothing dangerous about it.
@@curlyyasmin181 i know right, i have a friend actually who has an intolerance for cabbage and other sorts of veggies. Can get a lot of pain and sickness
I agree it's misleading , doesn't match the discrption
@@curlyyasmin181 > MSG occurs naturally. It's not dangerous in moderate amounts. Which is true about most things. Even drinking too much water can kill you.
I just imagine the narrator spiting on my face every time I heard his voice
"I eat until I feel sick and uncomfortable. I win!"
-People on this show.
😂😂
I eat while I'm taking a dump at the buffet. I'll bring my plate in with me!
i have a feeling that quarantine is gonna kill buffet culture like it’s gonna kill movie theaters and honestly i wouldn’t be mad if buffets just popped out of existence
They can take buffets but they can't take cinemas.
You were right. I think all buffets will close or alter to being served by a handler to avoid germs.
Quarantine is gonna kill everything fun!
Happiness is all i see after i made used of #DROKOH herbal medicine on UA-cam channel which i only take for 2weeks now am free from HSV1
ua-cam.com/channels/fzKiFMY65gNpniyR4rxEwQ.html
Movie theaters never recovered in my city
Crispy seaweed is cabbage? Wtf 😂
Techmical yeah did u not know lol?
Yeah?
danielle daffers nah!! I thought it was seaweed 🤣😂
You wouldn't get away with that here, false advertising, fine, imprisonment........
What wouldn’t they get away with?
Came for Adam, what a champ. If you guys don’t follow beard meets food but you love watching people eat food go find him on UA-cam. He’s great. Go Adam :)
That manager from `more' seems great to work for and flames is down road from me so may have to pop in
Can I come with you?😁😂
The buffet lost to George and George won an early grave, he should be so happy and proud of himself. He beat the system.
7 plates? That's nothing. Come to NYC and eat with a Chinese family. They know how to get their money's worth. I went with my friend's family several times and her dad always said,"forget the rice. We can eat that at home. Go for the king crab legs". Anyway, the best buffet ever was the one at Sofitel in thr Philippines. They have a cheese room!!!!
A cheese.. *room* ?!?!?!?!! I NEED THIS PLACE
The buffet at Marina Bay Sands (Singapore) is good (as you might expect); a significantly better experience is to be had at the Ritz-Carlton, and even the relatively small Fort Canning Hotel, the latter a very "traditional" five-star hotel.
I didn’t know non British people reacting to Johnny Vegas’s voice would be so funny 😄
You mean British people don't respond the same way??? Must be desensitized (desensitised for you brits).
I love Johnny Vegas' voice. Makes this docu way better.
I get sick at buffets. It seems everything tastes the same. Husband loves them, but doesn't cram as much food as he can.
