I would love to go to this uni considering it's the only one in korea that my school is partnered with. I love how so many classes are offered in english. there are sooo many pluses with studying abroad there, but I am nervous that it would be too hard because there isnt homework grades or partial grades. Its just the midterm and final. I'm in engineering and would be too scared to take the classes there

Can you keep small aquatic animals in dorms? I’ll be freshman of university in spring 2021 and my major will be English language and literature but I’m worried about what classes I’ll have to take, can choose my courses? Although I’m majoring as English do I still need to take math and science courses?

Mitch Lobbezoo thanks! it‘s still advised to practise social distancing but as long as you avoid crowded places, wash your hands and wear a mask you should be fine :)

Hai hey there! 🤗 i don‘t know about this semester but there was a mandatory quarantine last semester (spring semester 2020) the quarantine started the day the students arrived in korea :) so when i moved into the dormitory i was in quarantine for a week only! we were allowed to buy necessities before going into our rooms and were also given sanitizer and travel-sized products such as shampoo & toothpaste, we were also provided with 3 meals a day during the quarantine. all the meetings/trips/festivals/orientation days were unfortunately cancelled. the lectures were held online either through zoom calls or replaced by video lectures!

Is the one person per room rule only for the remaining of spring semester? Or is it gonna be like that for fall semester as well? Are there enough room for all students living at the dorm? If not, how do they decide who lives in the dorm and what do the others students who didn’t get a room at the dorm stay at? 🥺

I've been looking for more information about CAU's programs, mainly the korean language one and I still can't find it. On the website there are no further information and it is quite hard to find prices... I really liked the university when I first saw it on a video of a brazilian UA-camr (I'm brazilian btw) and I kept searching about it. However, I still have so many questions... Do you think the university is answering their e-mails right now? I wanted to know how it works to get maybe a schoolarship or even just some info about e-lounge, how english activities work and the korean language program's price. A foreing youtuber made a video about the university and the job she got there just to talk to korean students in english, you know something about it? Ty for the video, very nice and just made me want to go to CAU more :)
laila kreimer i don‘t think i can be much of help :( i think you should try and contact the Office of International Affairs directly. my whole semester was online, so all of the offline activities were cancelled unfortunately
i was only an exchange student so i‘m not sure about the jobs either

Hi ! Thanks for sharing your room tour :) Is there a door for the bathroom ? Doesn't seem like there was one in the video, so are you totally exposed while you are on the toilet ?
Just Y yes there are doors! haha there‘s a sliding door and then two additional normal doors that separate the bathroom space into 3 areas :)

Ruth Stephanie yes one person per room only, hmm i don‘t really know how they calculated the dormitory fee as we don‘t share the room anymore and we got meals delivered during our quarantine but i think it‘s about the same :)

Hello! Not sure if you will see this comment and maybe it is a bit random but I will be going to CAU this fall and was wondering if you know how big the beds are? It would be nice to bring some sheets beforehand so I don't have to buy everything new!
if i remember correctly it was just a standard single bed, so the matress should be around 90x200cm/100x200cm :)

i’m glad i could help! 😊 if i remember correctly, they won‘t send out any information until the list of courses is updated, which will be like a week before you apply for the courses you want to take :( i don‘t think you can get access to the contents any earlier...
@@stilinhski thank you! I got previous courses content to have a rough idea bc my uni needed it hahaha, in case someone else needs something similar, you can send an email to the international office and they can send you a link to check the syllabuses!:D

the payment covers your whole semester regardless of the number of months
nope, there are no cooking facilities but for some reason students on my floor still had meat and vegetables in the fridge lol we only have a fridge, microwave and a water dispenser that‘s it! :)

Yonathan Alemu yes exactly :) there are a few food places on campus and a lot off campus! there is a McDonald‘s right at the front gate and a Mom‘s Touch near the back gate (maybe 5-10 min walk)

is a commerce course taught in English and exams are written in English or Korean?

the rent is between 300.000-400.000 won per semester. you can apply for a meal plan but i usually just went out to eat (restaurants & convenience stores). i didn‘t apply for the scholarship, you should check out the CAU homepage for more information :)

Hi, ich werde auch ab März 2022 an der CAU ein Auslandssemester machen, wie war das bei dir denn jetzt mit dem Zimmer. Hast du dir das geteilt mit jemanden. Weißt du zufällig wie das gehandhabt wird, weil es sind ja zwei Betten in deinem Zimmer gewesen :)
Normalerweise teilen sich immer zwei Studenten ein Zimmer, deswegen auch die 2 Betten. Nur aufgrund der Situation damals habe ich ein eigenes Zimmer bekommen :)

Blackhair 09 yes the rooms have air conditioners! uhhh you have the choice between a room for two or four people (not sure if the seoul dormitory has 4-people rooms) and your roommate/s will be assigned randomly (but for some reason, in the end, we still got to choose our roommate online)

it depends, i think due to the cicumstances they made small changes but you should expect to pay around 1300000 won :)
