- Hello! We are THRILLED that our favorite MCM vintage mall in Fridley, MN, (a Minneapolis suburb), that was ruined by a catastrophic flood of water and mud on June 30th, 2023, has now REOPENED on July 29th! We were so glad to have been granted a PRE GRAND REOPENING DAY Sneak Peek of their progress to make things new again and even more exciting! We know you will enjoy shopping with us early and we'll have another video of this large mall shortly!
WILD VINTAGE ANTIQUES, WILD VINTAGE COLLECTIVE, and THE CLAPPING MONKEY COFFEE SHOP were all affected by the flood. It was the main income for many of their 50 vendors and small business owners. This 18,000 square foot mall is a happy place for all, and and we are thrilled that they have REOPENED after 29 days of very hard labor. The owners are left with mega expense but hope to regain some of their huge loss through insurance and donations.

Thank you for this nice video. I loved the birds and green dish you purchased. Please don't let anyone tell you how to act or speak. Your sweet and enthusiastic narrative is so pleasant and calming. Just what I needed today. It's been a rough week for me. When I saw that you dropped a video I dropped what I was doing and sat down and enjoyed seeing the very cool things. You show them well and I really like the little stories you have for some of the vintage items from your past or present. It almost feels like I'm shopping with you. I do have one critism though; this video wasn't long enough. But thats me being selfish. I want to see it all. Ha!

Norm says he misses it longer, but he knows that I get tired of all that fussing. I am terrible at getting hair cuts. I know it's just going to grow out again the rest of this year and beyond. That's funny that you said you wouldn't have much $$ left if you were there. I TOTALLY understand! I have to hold back as much as possible, even though Norm is way too generous with his approvals. Just got done watching your latest, about the re-opening after a flood. So many great things❣️ I have to tell you and Norm a few things. One is that I love your background music. Another is that the person who told you Peggy Lou, that you do not know how to display things is crazy! I also think the person who told you you should do less narration is clueless! Norm, I love your sense of humor! The two of you work so well together. Love your videos❣️ You both make people feel like they are looking around with friends. I always feel good when I hear,”Welcome friends.” Anyway, really did enjoy your latest. Hi Catherine! Thank you so much for such a wonderful message! That was so very kind to tell us you're both Minnesotans and not far from us. We are in Maple Grove. I don't mention that, but Norm has. I'm so happy to hear that you love the music that I've been picking out. I have always loved synthesized music the best, ever since the 80's. Norm likes country, but I'm not into that at all (maybe some of the old stuff is fun). It really is a lot of work for me making the videos. I truly enjoy being creative though. Working with music is a lot of extra work, but I think it adds so much to the mood. If I didn't use some perky music now and then, I think I would be putting people to sleep more. Norm says "Thank you, Catherine!" for liking his sense of humor :-) I really appreciate too that you support me in my style of narration. I'm just being me--not trying hard to change according to people's suggestions. I realize I can't please everyone. It can't help but bother me, though, when I get comments that are cold (with no thank you, of course) and they tell me, faster videos, or shorter, or longer, or no talking, etc. We just have to be ourselves. And thanks so much regarding my ability to 'display things.' That woman was so cold and she wasn't decent enough to elaborate. Like, please tell me what you are referring to--floral arrangements or everything else in our house?? LOL I would love to know their experience and training, right? I deserve that much. Their reopening didn't take as long as I thought it would. That's great. I loved the cranberry coin dot ginger jar at the start and the owl pair hanging on that multi color wall. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you Peggy and Norm

It is so well curated and you can see that these vendors take such pride in their booths. I know this reopening would not be possible without the hard work from so many volunteers including you Norm. Hi, its Lynn again. I had no idea there was a vintage mall in Fridley. We lived in Fridley for several years, next to the Mississippi. Wjat a great place. The shadow box was my favorite 😍 They had great lamps too. I need some hanging pots, like the one around 6 minutes.
Hi Lynn! That mall is unbelievable! It has grown and grown tremendously over the past couple of years. They were very new when we were told about them. This is maybe only 3 years for them. It's hard to stay away from there, but I try hard because they are high-priced. I don't mind that the hardworking vendors get a good price, though. I have an awfully good time shopping our thrift stores for great deals instead. Thanks again, Lynn, for writing often! 🧡🍁🤎🍂
P.S. It is so cool that you used to live in Fridley by the river! We are in Maple Grove, not too far west of there, since 1987. I haven't shared that very much.😏
At 9:39 the pitcher with the thin primary color stripes was very cute. I love old quilts and colorful afghans. We cleaned out my in laws storage unit and there are 6 huge afghans that are not quite funished. One has granny squares and they are ready to go. I wondowhow I can find someone to finish them off 🤔 Any ideas?
