I had a similar (if a bit over the top) reaction to the Artti T10, which also utilizes the “next gen” 14.2mm planar. Something special about the new driver I think. Implementation is important of course, but if this is where planars are headed, they’re going to gain a much wider audience. Great review again mate! ☮️

Dont forget about the artti t10 as a cheaper alternative that is quite similar. Went for NiceHCK F1 Pro this as I want a better build :)

Very tempted but I have to hold off buying iems for awhile. These are on my planar list though.

David, I am planning to order a pair of these earphones via Lazada for the equivalent of USD$85 (or less, possibly, depending on any available vouchers), in order to replace my UNCOMFORTABLE Hidizs MP145.
    Thanks for the comprehensive review!

Good call! Indeed, I did forget about the Klanar. It has more presence region and a smoother treble. Really wish I had included that one now!

The Phoenix Call has a brighter presentation, particularly in the upper mids.

Mee too, i am planning in buying my first planar and the s12 pro is currently the highly chance i would get. But i would like to know from the multiple reviewers' perspective if the s12 pro still viable in 2024

@choydeliverer7162 so far the information i have gathered is that f1 pro just copied the homework of s12 pro. Looking at the graphs and build it is 99.99% similar, but comes with newer gen planer driver and is better by only sight margin as its treble does not have those piercing mattalic characteristics that came about in some songs due to the old gen planer drivers. Only other difference is that f1 pro does not come with that interchangable cable of s12 pro and is cheaper because of that. I would advice that if looking for good planer with new gen driver either wait for timeless 2 release at 200$+ or just get something like f1 pro, kefine klaner, artii t10,etc. with new gen drivers at 100$ or less. I would avoid the mp145 for now due to the retune controversy or until new reviews are published to reverify how it actually sounds.

Look at gizaudio’s review. He compares this to the Klanar and s12/s12pro . They are quick comparisons but nonetheless he does compare them.

    • @PrimeAudioReviews

If you're looking for something balanced that ticks all boxes try the Kefine Delci. S12 is still a good option if you want to try a planar and don't mind a leaner/brighter sound.
