Rahul Dev Burman 27 June 1939 - 4 January 1994 was an Indian film score composer, and one of the influential music directors of the Indian film industry. Nicknamed Pancham, he was the only son of the composer Sachin Dev Burman.
From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman composed musical scores for 331 films. He was mainly active in the Hindi film industry as a composer, and also provided vocals for a few compositions. Burman did major work with Asha Bhosle (his wife) and Mohammed Rafi, and scored many of the songs that made these singers famous. He also scored many songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar. He served as an influence to the next generation of Indian music directors, and his songs continue to be popular in India.

A few person's know that R D is from the small state of NE India i.e Tripura
I am proud that I m also from Tripura 💓
Dear he is from the royal family of Tripura. If not for his love for music SD Burman could have been one of the biggest knights of Tripura. father of SD Burman big heartedly made the will that after his demice his brother not son will ascend to the throne, but his brother didnot show the goodwill gesture and reprihend his brother son's from being a successor of the throne after his demise. Burmans fought the legal case in british court but couldn't win. At the end they were relegated to second tier royals. Still Burman brothers were given high designations in royal court and administration of Tripura. SD Burman was offered position of education minister but he denied. The last nail in the coffin was when Burman went to Tripura 1st time after getting married with his wife they were not received by queen and royal princesses which he didnot took well and take it as his insult. After that he never went Tripura. Which shows he was man of high morals.. And his passion for music made him who he is today.. N that will remain in the anals of musical history of India.
