The wait is over and although I didn't guess correctly in your survey (I voted MG) I am very pleased you went for the Tivoli as it is a bit of a curved ball. I am really looking forward to see how well she serves you and how well you adjust to your new purchase. I hope you get the Rover sorted out soon as well. Thanks Joseph.
The wait is indeed over, and I think that it will be a surprise to many given the results of the poll. I have driven many of these cars over the years and really like them. She has already been used for work and so is fulfilling her purpose already. Probably another video on her to come next week!
Absolutely, sir! Over six years of warranty, fantastic equipment levels, comfortable on the motorway and soon to be filmed by Planet Auto too, no doubt.
Thanks very much indeed, Graham! The car was pressed immediately into service for work this week and we have just filmed the full review of it today, so I hope that you enjoy that too. Very much enjoying it so far!
Good choice. Another manufacturer not afraid to put a decent warranty on their product which inspires a lot of confidence. I love that you continue to champion the more niche brands
Yes, a car that I first drove years ago now, and still had a lot of appeal for our needs now. The comfort, passenger space, specification and warranty are all very appealing and certainly good reasons for buying one.
congratulations Joseph. It seems to be a very nice car, with a lot of options ticked. I look forward to seeing the main review on it and your opinions on driving it :)
Absolutely, all the equipment fitted to the car was standard on this top of the range Ultimate model. The full review will be coming soon for your viewing pleasure, sir...
Looks a lovely car Mr Lloyd! Have to say I don't know much about the Ssangyong Tivoli but it certainly seems packed with features. Hope it looks after you!
Absolutely, sir, lots and lots of things for me to play with and proving comfortable so far. Not many people know that much about the Ssangyong Tivoli, to be honest!
Thanks very much indeed, sir! Already done about 150 miles and should be clocking up about 200 more over the course of the weekend, so she is getting plenty of exercise already.
Nice, congrats. cant wait for the drive video. Btw way is this the nearest ssangyong dealer to you? if it is its a long way and ssangyong arebt exactly ford/vauxhall for availability are they?
Yes, we are planning on filming the full review next week. There is a Ssangyong dealership in Gosport, which is about half an hour away, but I was specifically after a nearly new petrol manual car in Ultimate trim, and there weren't many around....
Hi Joseph, a great purchase. I have just received brochures on the Tivoli and the new Korando. I could be wrong but your new car might have reclining rear seats, the parcel shelf can be positioned further back (or removed). The interior of your Tivoli is very like my last Hyundai ix35 and its so easy to get used to. Happy motoring :-)
Yes, I can't remember at the moment, but I don't think the rear seats do recline (we folded them in the full review we did yesterday). The post-facelift Tivoli may be different. Hoping to test more new Ssangyongs later this year! I drove an ix35 for the first time last week, it was indeed nicely laid out inside.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting May be, its from the brochure :-) With slightly reclining rear seats there are two indent positions on each side for the parcel shelf. They are in my Tucson and have never been used once....that says it all lol :-)) Look forward to seeing the full review.
@@AndrewKNI, I don't think it's going to get used, sir, just as you say! I drove a Tucson for the first time last week, actually, again it was a pretty decent car.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting Yes, the Tucson is pretty good. Mine is the 1.6 normally aspirated petrol. Its quite low in torque but I have seen 42mpg for a 12 mile trip. It's quiet and well made too. I imagine the Tivoli will be similar :-)
Yes, did consider one, but we don't currently need the extra space. The XLV is absolutely massive, though! Ideally, I would have wanted one in dandy blue with the beige leather interior, but this was a good second option.
No, the post-facelift models have 1.2 and 1.5 turbo petrols (as well as a diesel), but the pre-facelift petrols were only a 1.6 normally aspirated engine. It certainly is much better looking than the older Ssangyongs. In fact, all of their conventional range looks rather nice these days, particularly the Korando and Rexton.
The Rover is being worked on even as we speak, sir! The Ssangyong has already been used for work purposes and will be again today. Very happy with it so far as expected.
Well, I think that I know the person who will be servicing the car using genuine parts and in the Ssangyong approved way, so I think that we should be all right...
Funnily enough, there is a version of this car made in India by Ssangyong's parent company Mahindra under a different name, but all Tivolis are made in South Korea.

Welcome to the Lloyd family, Tivoli - Fantastic vehicles, SsangYong - you’ve many years of happy trouble free driving ahead.
Absolutely, sir! Over six years of warranty, fantastic equipment levels, comfortable on the motorway and soon to be filmed by Planet Auto too, no doubt.
Dear Joseph thank you for choosing Platinum SsangYong to supply your new car we love the video and look forward to seeing you again soon

Hope you love the Tivoli, a lovely looking car full of bells and whistles. Looking forward to getting progress reports.
Absolutely, masses and masses of equipment, and I do think that it looks rather nice too. Thanks ever so much indeed!
Congratulations Joseph on your new purchase, look forward to hearing about your adventures in it.
Thanks very much indeed, Gerry! Just successfully completed my first job in the car, very promising so far.
Congrats on the new purchase Joseph.
Thanks very much indeed, sir!
Well done Joseph , didn't see that one coming . I was convinced you would get a scala. Good looking car , l hope you enjoy it.
Ah yes, I have a long relationship with the Ssangyong Tivoli which long predates the channel. Now we own one, I am actually really happy with it.
Wishing you many happy, comfortable and carefree miles in the new car.

Yes, got 49 mpg the other day! Not the most torque, but perfectly decent nevertheless. The power outputs in both are similar.
Nice car, I hope you enjoy many happy hours driving it! Looks to be well equipped and practical, and style is nice.
Yes, just got back from my first job in the car and it went well today. I am rather fond of it...
Ooooh Hill decent now could be handy very nice Mr I woke up early had a rethink glad you are feeling happy with it 👍👍👍
We aim to please, sir! Don't know why it has hill descent control as it is only front wheel drive, but there we go.
Very nice, love the colour really think silver is making a comeback on modern cars,
Yes, it's a less common colour these days, but I happen to like it too!
I'm a big fan of the Tivoli XLV with its cavernous boot but personal preference is the cream leather
Yes, did consider one, but we don't currently need the extra space. The XLV is absolutely massive, though! Ideally, I would have wanted one in dandy blue with the beige leather interior, but this was a good second option.
Hmmmm nice. I was in a Ssangyong dealer today. Some of their models look quite nice. A far cry from the early 2000s.
Is that a 1.6 turbo?

Nice car Mr Lloyd, I hope you like it as much as the Seat, see no reason why you shouldn’t. Trust you got the Rover fixed ok .

Having an easily accessible oil filter is nice but I worry that one is going to dump oil on your belts when it gets changed.
