Never in a million years would anyone believe, until the year 2018 that someone like,I, would be watching a video of a grown man eating cereal and talk about his childhood at 12:30 PM on a Saturday for a hour.
Well its probably "bed head" and looks kind of uncombed but to me it added more to it as if i was having breakfast with him and we both just woke up. Most people don't see you at the beginning of your day.
At first I thought the title was going to be "Saturday morning cereal and 70's cartoons". And I was thinking,"This guy totally understand my life." Incidentally... "Thundarr the Barbarian." Tops.

70's in UK were the best! we made our own fun and games...we played outdoors all day! water fights(waiting ages for mum to finish with washing up liquid bottle, but some kid always came with a bigger and better super saver bottle! eek!) Ice cream man was a mad queue for a 'special'...ice cream cone, lollipop, juice and bits. Ice pops weren't invented then lol. Hide and seek, treasure hunt, cycling, cricket, rounders, marbles, hop scotch, skipping, making dens and long walks. Fuzzy felt, knitting, crochet, colouring books, reading (Peter and Jane, ladybird, giant book of classics) and drawing. Luckily Mum fed us a healthy meal and we sucked liquorice sticks and root sticks..yakk! sweets were nice though, but so bad! Street parties, sarnies and Jelly! Hot summers ! Heavy snow ! no phones, no play-station, just the great outdoors~~~

After noon local stations ran old Three Stooges shorts or 50's sci-fi movies or Godzilla flicks. Paradise! Funny how when you're a little kid, you want to wake up early and fill the day up with fun, then when you start going to school all you want to do is sleep in late. Saturdays in general were great from start to finish. Mom would get up around lunch time and make coffee for Dad and herself. Fix us some sandwiches. Then in the afternoon sports were usually on(which I had no interest in) so it was off to the neighbor kids' house to play or, more often with me, off to the woods down the street to explore. Crazy to think how much things have changed. I was probably under 10 years old and running around the woods by myself in the early 80's. I wouldn't let my kids do that now. Not that I don't think they could handle it, just too many psychos around today. Anyhow, back home in the early evening or late afternoon in time to catch "In Search Of" with Leonard Nimoy or syndicated series stuff- "Batman and Robin," "Mash," "Brady Bunch," or others... dinner (where everyone sat at the table together), baths, playing with toys awhile, more tv, "The A-Team," "The Incredible Hulk," "Magnum P.I.," or whatever. Then, after the late news, Saturday Night Live and, if I could last long enough, usually Nightmare Theater and old horror movies! Loved Saturdays!

Your Saturdays were definitely filled up from start to finish it seems and I was quite independent like yourself. My Mum brought me up, Dad was not really around and Mum worked several jobs. Just like yourself though, I loved being adventurous and would explore the local woods alone too. I'd ride my bike up and down hills as fast as my little legs would carry me and have more scrapes cuts and bruises from falls, than anything else. I'd roll around the fields, making daisy chains, looking for four leaf clovers and I remember one day finding one and this was a big moment, so I raced home, Mum smiled hugged me and put it in her purse...yeh they were the days...but today we have the lottery, heheheee lol...and somehow that doesn't feel the same. Im 18 and most of my friends would rather have grown up in the 70s or 80s. I spent a lot of the summer drivin with my friends around town in my 91 eldorado this summer. Turn on some stones, Aerosmith, some van halen. Drive to a new burger joint. Ahhhh good times. Already missin summer LOL.

I just wanted to say I'm 15 years old and have suffered from insomnia and it affected my school life was really upset and angry all the time I got in trouble all the time this was two years ago when all this happened because of your videos and listening to you every night I've been able to go to sleep every night I don't have insomnia anymore so I wanted to say thank you experimental Rift for helping me with insomnia
