Hello, dev here. I think you've had the most unlucky run of all time. Frogs eat, among other things, bees, but you picked a perk that prevents hives from giving you bees. Also, you bought cows, and they are the only animals that require something more than only food (bottles). Additionally, a few bugs came into play... BUT you did really well besides everything. I hope you enjoyed the game anyway, and of course, changes are coming. I'm fixing bugs as they come up, and you can expect a content update to the demo in June :O
I love this game so much keep going! I think the discovery aspect of this game makes it better. The more you know and learn the further u can get that's the game type. A more in depth tutorial I don't think is needed
I like this game and am going to buy it when it fully comes out Im considering buying the first one too, I've downloaded the demo and am going to play it tomorrow. Good job on the game
Olexa's version of going "all in" on cows was buying a swamp, clearing the land, building a pen, filling it with 7 cows, giving them 100 wheat, and watching them die with their little grins on their faces. And you know what? I'm here for it. They didn't even eat the wheat.
@@Igorious92 Damn! Was it really that simple? I had Minecraft on the brain and thought he would need buckets to milk them. xD Which didn't appear to be obtainable anywhere in the game.
Tried this game out myself, found a little bit of a broken setup. I call it the DTF (Down To Fish) build. 1. Put on your "gone fishin' " hat 2. Pick the Genie class (unlocked after beating the demo once) 2a. this does work for every class, but it's busted with genie 3. Grow some corn (10 total, used to upgrade rod and axe later) 4. Fish 4a. Fish some more 5. When you level, you're looking for the perk that gives you a chance to double-fish 5a. second best perk is the magic hat one that gives you more max energy 5b. third best perk is the picks +1 and +$3000 on level 6. When your genie counter goes off, pick the +max energy ones in your first week, +30 energy in your second week 7. upgrade fishing rod with APPLE upgrade ASAP, then get the corn upgrade 8. FISH You end the game at level 10 or above, max energy above 1000, and with hundreds of thousands of dollars to spare.
28:30 - Me screaming "WHY?!" at my monitor as you sell your wheat and then progress to the next day where you would've gotten even more money because you set it up that way yourself.
I'm so stoked to hear they're making a new one! I really liked the first one, and I'm glad you did too, and I was disappointed by how little they continued working on it after releasing it. Can't wait to see where it goes this time!
You might figure this out later on, but you can sell a stack of items with ctrl+right click or a single one with left on any tab, there is no need to switch tabs for it. You can also turn wood into coal in the furnace, 1 wood + 1 coal gives 3 coal the next day.
You are a great game reviewer and player. Enjoyed watching you play this game =) I really felt like giving this a try which does makes your purpose fulfilled.
Had me cracking up at the end with the 12 meat dropped lol. I suspected you needed bottles for the cows, and I also was wincing with pain every time I watched you pass the crafting upgrade that reduces materials used by 1. You could have had so many jars and bottles D:
I suspect the frog traps are filled with an item you get from hoeing up things from the swamp's grass tiles. I dono though but seems what would make sense given the worms from the normal field
Looking at the video I think the dev really needs to add some tooltips about the items in the game with more info on the use of them and reviewing the video have no clue how you used the preserved beets, pumpkin I saw but yeah not the beets. By the way apparently it's bees or butterflies in a trap that yields the frog parts and you need to bottle wheat and use on the cow I think looking at the recipe.
so the tutorial tells u how to use items but yeah there is a few things like when your in the build screen it should show you what product to put in something or like the animals it should show you hey you need this food and this item to get anything from them like the cows you need bottles and wheat to get milk but pig they just eat and you get manure which make plants grow faster or like when i played it the preserves didn't list you needed sugar but it said u needed sugar to make the preserves but yeah the tutorial need to explain a few things better like the level up or the upgrading the tools on the side of the screen like the upgrade tape and the unlock tab are not explained but kinda self-explanatory like when i played it it didnt say hey these unlock more stuff you can use and the upgrades its like increase the efficiency of something but not what that means it reduce the energy or the xp or giving you more stuff or like the each crop give produces it own product like some of the things are really vague but this is early access so hopefully they fix those things
There is a mine that you can build the produces coal and stones around it. Also in the backpack tab on the lefthand side u can upgrade tools and there are some specialized ones
So when you hovered over the whear at 1:08:37 it looks like you need to bottle the wheat and that may be how you feed the cow and you get milk in return?
the first another farm roguelike is not even finished, I bought it and then it never got any updates even though the dev said they were continuously working on it and now I have to buy the 'sequel'? kind of infuriating
Can you elaborate on your comment. Went to look at the steam update history which had EA release late 2022-> 8-ish minor updates/bugfixes -> Full release later 2022 -> QoL + bugs early 2023 and then stop. That too me looked reasonable since I wouldn't expect major content updates for a one-time-purchase 3$ title unless it was incredibly popular I.E Vampire survivor.
I like this game, though I definitely think more tips should be provided. Give me a manual or something that tells me what stuff does, what items I can make, etc
I was trying out the demo and was having so much fun until I somehow picked up both the beehive and the scarecrow and couldn't place it back down and couldn't do anything. It was so sad.
I've finished the demo with farmer and genie. Farmer. I've got a swamp as a second location, then converted water into max energy. Builded 8 3x3 tiles with beehive and sprinklers. You need 2 mines to get stones for furnaces, and trees to make coal. All pumpkins were processed into jars. Easy money. +20000$ extra money in the end. Genie. I've taken 750$ as first wish and bought mines as the 2nd location. As usually, I've created a few mines, built furnaces and grown trees. From comments, I've already known that you can upgrade your tools - I've got a honey tool that gives +2 for honey. Honey + glass bottle + keg = high price bottles. I've built barns and fill it with pigs. They give truffles for very expensive truffle oil. I've got 3x3 hoe, so I can easy grown many crops to feed animals. +25000$ extra money, and all tiles are used by buildings, animals, and crops. Insane! I'm very curious about fishing build.
well it was good for the first run, now you know hot to play the game. mines probably would have helped, also you gotta spend money to make money being too afraid to sell probably didn't help.
I mean, you rejected a regular income of 3000$ earlier in the upgrade from leveling which youd get every time you level something up in favor of 10 energy every 8 destroyed things so...
When another farm rougelike afterbirth+ releases im not going to buy it, it will probably be just a shitty dlc that makes everything more annoying and adds horrible characters.

please bring it to mobilee, i really love the game I've been watching play throughs and been itching to try it, sadly cant afford a pc lol
What happened too your first game and why does this look so much like forager
Really think this game with all of the interdependent upgrade and perk system is so addictive! Any chance for a macOS port?
Almost an entire run so far and doesn't realize you can upgrade the tools on the left. 😂 never change Olexa.
I didn't know about that O_o
Preserved Pumpkins ... delicious!
All of them! Hehehehe
That's what I am here for. Thx Olexa!:)

I’m just trying to think of the logistics of eating that many preserved pumpkins in one sitting

Olexa : " since it is Another Farm Roguelike Rebirth, you can expect Another Farm Roguelike Afterbirth"
Me : " ...and a Final Fantasy 7 Afterbirth"

Hmm. I think frogs can eat butterflies from flowers.
I tilled the entire swamp and didn't get whatever item was needed
@Acemancello Ah. There goes that thought.
@@Igorious92 That sounds like it'd make more sense yeah.
Beees

why did you do this to me
Oh no...
Casually eating 90 pumpkins XD
My god everytime you say "Another Farm Roguelike" my smooth brain goes "which one?"

Yeah, he could've not done it by always having a tool selected but I feel like making you eat from the backpack would just be better

in the craft when your mouse is on top off wheet we see that for milk you just need wheet AND bottle
well this looks fun
how do you find a new roguelike every day
This game seems great
You forgot to take out the wheat from the fenced in area. Though I don't know if that would of helped
never leveled up his tools hurts me so much
