I loooove the vanilla part of the picaras!! And chifles :D and Inca Kola is my favorite, it was bought by the Coca Cola Company a few years ago, it sells more than Coca Cola itself here in Peru.
Inca Kola is flavored with an herb called hierba luisa. The Lays are flavored with 'aji panca' which is a smoked pepper, so that's probably why it seems paprika-ish. Karinto are cookie-coated peanuts and my husband can't stop eating them. :D Chifles are ubiquitous, they come on the side with lots of meals in restaurants. There are different kinds of Sublime - some with almonds, raisins, etc. It reminds me of the Chunky bar in the US. Glacitas come in different flavors also. Picaras are a take on the Peruvian fried dessert 'picarones', which is kind of like a funnel cake from the fair, only in a ring shape. ChokoSoda is my addiction :D (Sorry to go on so much - I've been in Peru for 11 years, and loved seeing this)
Yes! Finally Peru! I lived in Peru since I was 10 until I was 14 during the late 90s and early 2000's and I just loved everything there. Inca Kola is actually made of, believe it or not, lemongrass. A very sweet, artificial lemongrass of course but lemongrass after all. I like the 'zero' version a lot better though, it's not as sweet. Probably the only soda in which it's light version is genuinely better than the regular one.
Hailey Niskanen De La Puente , HADOUKENX you´re right is made of lemongrass artificial flavor...nonetheless, the only peruvian soda used to be made from real hierba luisa was the PASTEURINA a delicious soda produced until the 80´s ..that was by far the best soda ever produced in Perú..naturally flavored....mmmm..
About the light version vs the regular version tasting better, of course has to do with how sweet people like their drinks, but also with growing up drinking it haha. I grew drinking the regular version and wouldn't even consider the lighter versiom becomes it just seems watered down soda. It tastes to me like watered down coca cola would taste to a regular coke drinker in America. And, while I lived there, the regular version was the most popular soda in Peru. :)
Growing up in a Peruvian household, everyone had their own opinions of what Inca Kola tastes like but we all loved it. Non-peruveans usually say bubblegum, but me and my family always believed it had its own flavor. The closest flavor to other food I would have to say is ginger-pineapple-citrus. Sublime in Peru, not to be confused with the awesome California SoCal band Sublime, is pronounced, soo - blee - meh.
Yay!!...Emmy, I have watched your videos for so long and this has been my favourite of so far. I spent some time in Peru...twice...and I miss all of this!!...Enjoy! xxxx Ps. I believe Inca Kola is lemon verbena flavour (Its main ingredient).....the locals know it as 'hierba luisa'....the flavour is similar to that of cream soda.

good vid, im peruvian and have to say that Inca Kola is not made by Coca Cola, this is peruvian product, the american company bought Inca Kola and now produce it
Coco Cola purchased Inca Kola being that inca kola was the #1 beverage in Peru. And much like Coca cola buys other soda brands in other countries to slowly kill them off and replace them with coca cola, in Peru in a kola remained at top and favored by the Peruvians making it hard for coca cola to de thrown the national drink. Nice try Coke! But inca Kola runs Peru.

Inka Kola company was purchase by Coca Cola Company because in the entire world, Peru is the only country where coke is not the best selling soda, so they had to buy it

Excellent video Emmy, as a Peruvian myself, I have tasted some of them, not all, but thanks to you, now when I go to visit, I'm gonna try to get them. Much appreciated.
I love your explanation Emmy, i left Peru for so long that i forget how to describe in Spanish sometimes, thanks to you, the old flavors make sense again, i`m happy for you to enjoy all the goodies : P
GLACITAS, PICARAS, CHOCOSODAS!, Only less "Animalitos", (Vanilla cookies with animals design), and "Cañonazo", (Flavored bar of chocolate and peanut), greetings from Lima, Peru
*INKA KOLA is the national soft drink: INKA KOLA es la bebida de sabor nacional* All Perú´s sweets are delciosos and that you have not yet tasted the sweets creoles and also delicious Peruvian food. The fruits of Peru are exotically delicious. Greetings to Japan from Peru and Argentina.
OMG!! This is AMAAAAZING! I'm from Perú and an online news page showed us today your page!! it's so awesome and funny to watch the opinions for the snacks I eat almost every day :) :) hahaha so funny! I appreciated your opinions so much! Inca Cola has its own flavor… always foreign people says that it's like bubblegum but for local people it isn't! I love Sublime :)
The Karinto peanut snack is made from the Japanese recipe. The original owners of the Karinto brand were second generation of Japanese citizens. They started as a home made snack and it became so popular that now it is a big company.
Hello Emmy .I have a doubt. Where are you from? A Peruvian newspaper says you are from United States. UA-cam: Esto piensa una estadounidense de las golosinas peruanas diariocorreo.pe/miscelanea/youtube-esto-piensa-una-estadounidense-de-las-golosinas-peruanas-video-605361/

+playercarloz yeah, that's not a representative newspaper of our country, they are really mediocre in their topics, I live in Huancayo (principal headquarters are there) so I read a lot of s+++t in their pages when I pass the newspaper store in the way to work..
I just watched this video the other day & today, when I went to my daughter's house, her Peruvian husband gave me a Sublime candy bar (they say sub-lee-mah) & Dona Pepa! His parents brought them with them when they came to meet their new grandchildren. And Inca Cola is bubblegum flavored. I'm going to send my daughter these videos so she can enjoy your cheerfulness too.
This is the first video that i watch from your channel... you have a new subscriber :3.... and a beatiful like :P. I don´t understand why the comments in videos with reference from peru or chile are always full of chileans saying bad things about us and peruvians that doesn´t know how to ignore that.... Somethings that people doesn´t know is that AMBROSOLI is not chilean nor peruavian.... it´s from italy the founder went to chile before the second world war... however every sweet that was shown in this video was fullly made in peru..... and NESTLE is a swedish company but is multinational..... and for every peruavian who said that why she didn´t taste real peruvian sweets it´s because she is not in peru.... and that kind of sweets you cannot send them by mail.... you should buy them in some place by your self or go to a country (HERE) to eat them
What a wonderful review of peruvian snacks. I loved the reference you made so people can understand what they taste like. And as a peruvian myself I can't really tell you what Inca Kola actually taste like. A lot of people from outside say the same (that it taste and smell like bubble gum) but for me it just taste like Inca Kola, haha I can't put any other flavor to it, maybe let's just made Inca Kola a taste haha. Thnks for the review Emmy this is the first time I watch any of your videos and I'm def. Subscribing! :)
Oh God, I loved your video. I'm 16 and I'm peruvian, but right now I'm leaving in France. You made me remember all those snacks, drinks and food that We have in my country (I'm kinda homesick now lol ) haha thank you so much! By the way, Peru is amazing ;)
Loved this I was married to a Peruvian for 6 years and we have a 12 year old (I’m American) I miss the candies. All of these are DELICIOUS!! My favorite is something like a cake with different candies on top.
Inca Kola, must taste like chamomile, kind of. The "el manjar" we call it "manjar blanco", it is a sort of "burned" condensed milk you put a can of that on a water bath, until it gets that brown colour. You should try it with some pancakes. "full" it's not necesarly a "classic" hard candy. you should try the "peritas"or "monterrico" those are classics. "mani" is peanuts. the choco soda you really should try it cold!
Hey Emmy, greetings from PERU. Here are some facts! 1. Inca Kola's formula has been kept secret for years, nevertheless more brands in Perú have appeared through the time immitating its misterious flavour. Just like Coca-Cola! It's flavour is made out of lemon verbena mainly. Also, it is a peruvian product, Coca-Cola "had to" buy it after years of competing in Perú and being the only country in the world where Coca-Cola was #2 on preferences! (well, along with Irn-Bru from Scotland)...so that is why around 15 years ago you get to see the Coca-Cola seal on it, and tend to think that this is a Coca-Cola invention made for Perú, but it is not. They also sell it in the US under the name of "Golden Kola". 2. If you liked the chips made with Ají flavour, you should try Ají itself, better if it is in peruvian traditional dishes ;) 3. That "manjar" from Nestlé is no other thing than "dulce de leche" as you said (heathen milk). It is not that traditional here, not much as it is in Argentina or Colombia. 4. Karinto are peanuts, as you said. They rock. Karinto is just the name of the brand and they specialize in nuts, making spicy peanuts, lima beans, etc. 5. "Full cherry" is also not as traditional as the brand itself, Ambrosoli, which specialize in all kinds of candy here in Perú. That Full pinky thing is just one of the thousand candy products from Ambrosoli, but certainly not one of the most popular ones :) 6. Chifles are also made out from bananas, it is really a traditional natural snack from the north of Perú, served with traditional dishes or in a common plastic bag... the version you have tried is the comercial version of it. The natural version is even better! 7. Triangulo (literally "Triangle"), now that is a traditional chocolate here, as well as its brand D'Onofrio, which also makes the better/most traditional ice cream from Perú. D'Onofrio was bought by Nestlé around 15 years ago, and first tried changing the name of many of its products and erasing the brand name "D'Onofrio" and then realised that this wasn't a good marketing strategy at all, as most of peruvians stopped consuming them. Then they placed the brand D'Onofrio back and everything went great. That tells a bit about how proud we are about our products too :D 8. Sublime, an even more traditional chocolate here. Also, another totally peruvian product by D'Onofrio, bought after years by Nestlé. Nestlé were the ones coming up with the "blanco" (white) version. Nothing impressive really. And yeah, Mani = peanut! 9. Glacitas and Picaras, really good choice on a traditional crackers that has been around a long ago here in Perú. The "Choko Soda" is the Field chocolate version of their common crackers which are also great by their own. 10. Doña Pepa, one of the best and most traditional chocolate cookies. Great choice to be send to you.
The snack that you make for christmas, my mom and i would make it all the time around passover time but use matzah instead and in that instance its called matzah farffel
Randomly I don't know how I find your channel, but I'm peruvian and I think I could help with the inca Kola, well Inca Kola is a soda but first it was made with "hierba Luisa", which is a herb really soft and medicinal, but when coca kola (coke) bought the original Inca Kola company change the original recipe and now the flavor is like bubble gum. All peruvians around the world love inca kola. You may try "pollo a la brasa" which is one of the most popular peruvian dishes. Love your video and it makes me feel proud of been peruvian!
No intento engañar.

Kelly Cannon is aji amarillo not panca.. the one you make the huancaina salsa
You're right - there are different flavors, this one has aji amarillo :)
In English "hieba luisa" is "lemon verbena". I've had candies made from that flavor.

Inca Kola is the traditional "soda" of our country, famous national drink, or carbonated water/soda/drink
good vid, im peruvian and have to say that Inca Kola is not made by Coca Cola, this is peruvian product, the american company bought Inca Kola and now produce it
Well it's the same nowadays it's made by coca cola since 80 years ago
Gabriel Carmona you are wrong, Cocacola bought Inca Kola in 1999, the formula and all the contents of the soda is peruvian manufacturing
Inka Kolas flavour is made from scence of pine tree and the color is gold as the Inkas gold.
Inka Cola is actually lemongrass flavored.
lemongrass flavored is PASTEURINA, thats the tipical confusión.
Inka Kola is scence of pine.
I look forward to your videos everyday! You always set off such a happy energy and you are a huge induration to me to lead a happier life and expiersnce things throughout the world... Even out of my comfort zone(black licorice)

Hi Emmy:5:57
Maní is not Manjar.
Maní is a peanut.
Great Video and your spanish is good!
acmilanccmr9 at 6:15 she realize that Mani is peanut :)
Hello Emmy .I have a doubt. Where are you from? A Peruvian newspaper says you are from United States.

Oh yes^^ Isee n_n
+playercarloz yeah, that's not a representative newspaper of our country, they are really mediocre in their topics, I live in Huancayo (principal headquarters are there) so I read a lot of s+++t in their pages when I pass the newspaper store in the way to work..
Omg!! I've been waiting for you to try perú!!! I'm from peru and i just knew you would love all of our chocolate and delicious food we had!!!
OMG Picaras and Doña Pepa were my FAV cookies growing up in Peru, brings me back to my childhood
Hey Emmy could I see if I could send you a package with snacks from Denmark? :D
Ja!!
***** It would be my pleasure to taste more Danish specialties. :)
Also, if you're up for it, I think it'd be really cool to do a U.S./Danish swap. If you want to do this, please email me at jessyoucan829@gmail.com

Nice video Emmy and very fun. I was remembering when I ate a lot of snacks at weekends. I hope your travel to Peru had been wonderful. Greetings.

I never realised I enjoyed watching people eat so much!
This is the first video that i watch from your channel... you have a new subscriber :3.... and a beatiful like :P.
I don´t understand why the comments in videos with reference from peru or chile are always full of chileans saying bad things about us and peruvians that doesn´t know how to ignore that.... Somethings that people doesn´t know is that AMBROSOLI is not chilean nor peruavian.... it´s from italy the founder went to chile before the second world war... however every sweet that was shown in this video was fullly made in peru..... and NESTLE is a swedish company but is multinational..... and for every peruavian who said that why she didn´t taste real peruvian sweets it´s because she is not in peru.... and that kind of sweets you cannot send them by mail.... you should buy them in some place by your self or go to a country (HERE) to eat them
I am peruano

Manuel Amestica Saldia jajaja ok
Oie noh.
"Maybe maní is manjar..."

I'm peruvian and very happy that you enjoy and like our popular snacks. Now you are ready for peruvian food, THE GREATES, I wish you luck.
I always see this video, I do not know but it relaxes me ❤
Saludos!
thank you for the video!! greetings from Perú!!
Loved this I was married to a Peruvian for 6 years and we have a 12 year old (I’m American) I miss the candies. All of these are DELICIOUS!! My favorite is something like a cake with different candies on top.

Where is the paloma?
ALL OF THAT SOUNDS AMAZING! THANK YOU FOR SHARE IT
Inca Kola, must taste like chamomile, kind of.
The Inka Cola, was peruvian many years ago. But Cola Kola bought it.
THe flavor is a mix of peruvian plants called "manzanilla" and "Anis".
Thanks Emmy for try it on our food peruvian. Really our food is delicious. Good bless x
Thanks Emmy for spreading the word about our products
2. If you liked the chips made with Ají flavour, you should try Ají itself, better if it is in peruvian traditional dishes ;)
That Full pinky thing is just one of the thousand candy products from Ambrosoli, but certainly not one of the most popular ones :)
That tells a bit about how proud we are about our products too :D
Happy that your videos are family friendly.
The snack that you make for christmas, my mom and i would make it all the time around passover time but use matzah instead and in that instance its called matzah farffel
PERU!!!
Inka Kola, Sublime, Triángulo, Pícaras, Doña Pepa are old classic delicious snacks/sweets from Perú. U miss "Cua Cua"
